Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 16:2 ============ Psa 16:2 I said to the Lord, "You are my Lord; I have no good besides You."(nas) Psa 16:2 εἶπα τῷ κυρίῳ κύριός μου εἶ σύ ὅτι τῶν ἀγαθῶν μου οὐ χρείαν ἔχεις (lxx) Psa 16:2 [Vulgate 15:2] dicens Deo Dominus meus es tu bene mihi non est sine te(vulgate) 2 ׃16 אָמַ֣רְתְּ לַֽ֭יהוָה אֲדֹנָ֣י אָ֑תָּה ט֝וֹבָתִ֗י בַּל־עָלֶֽיךָ׃ Psalms Psa 16:2 Ich habe gesagt zu dem HERRN: Du bist ja der HERR; ich weiß von keinem Gute außer dir.(dhs) Psa 16:2 O my soul, you have said to the Lord, "You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You."(nkjv) ======= Psalm 16:3 ============ Psa 16:3 As for the saints who are in the earth, They are the majestic ones in whom is all my delight.(nas) Psa 16:3 τοῖς ἁγίοις τοῖς ἐν τῇ γῇ αὐτοῦ ἐθαυμάστωσεν πάντα τὰ θελήματα αὐτοῦ ἐν αὐτοῖς (lxx) Psa 16:3 [Vulgate 15:3] sanctis qui in terra sunt et magnificis omnis voluntas mea in eis(vulgate) 3 ׃16 לִ֭קְדוֹשִׁים אֲשֶׁר־בָּאָ֣רֶץ הֵ֑מָּה וְ֝אַדִּירֵ֗י כָּל־חֶפְצִי־בָֽם׃ Psalms Psa 16:3 An den Heiligen, so auf Erden sind, und den Herrlichen, an denen hab ich all mein Gefallen.(dhs) Psa 16:3 As for the saints who are on the earth, "They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight."(nkjv) ======= Psalm 16:4 ============ Psa 16:4 The sorrows of those who have bartered for another god will be multiplied; I shall not pour out their drink offerings of blood, Nor will I take their names upon my lips.(nas) Psa 16:4 ἐπληθύνθησαν αἱ ἀσθένειαι αὐτῶν μετὰ ταῦτα ἐτάχυναν οὐ μὴ συναγάγω τὰς συναγωγὰς αὐτῶν ἐξ αἱμάτων οὐδὲ μὴ μνησθῶ τῶν ὀνομάτων αὐτῶν διὰ χειλέων μου (lxx) Psa 16:4 [Vulgate 15:4] multiplicabuntur idola eorum post tergum sequentium non litabo libamina eorum de sanguine neque adsumam nomina eorum in labiis meis(vulgate) 4 ׃16 יִרְבּ֥וּ עַצְּבוֹתָם֮ אַחֵ֢ר מָ֫הָ֥רוּ בַּל־אַסִּ֣יךְ נִסְכֵּיהֶ֣ם מִדָּ֑ם וּֽבַל־אֶשָּׂ֥א אֶת־שְׁ֝מוֹתָ֗ם עַל־שְׂפָתָֽי׃ Psalms Psa 16:4 Aber jene, die einem andern nacheilen, werden groß Herzeleid haben. Ich will ihre Trankopfer mit Blut nicht opfern noch ihren Namen in meinem Munde führen.(dhs) Psa 16:4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god; Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, Nor take up their names on my lips.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 16:5 ============ Psa 16:5 The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You support my lot.(nas) Psa 16:5 κύριος ἡ μερὶς τῆς κληρονομίας μου καὶ τοῦ ποτηρίου μου σὺ εἶ ὁ ἀποκαθιστῶν τὴν κληρονομίαν μου ἐμοί (lxx) Psa 16:5 [Vulgate 15:5] Dominus pars hereditatis meae et calicis mei tu possessor sortis meae(vulgate) 5 ׃16 יְֽהוָ֗ה מְנָת־חֶלְקִ֥י וְכוֹסִ֑י אַ֝תָּ֗ה תּוֹמִ֥יךְ גּוֹרָלִֽי׃ Psalms Psa 16:5 Der HERR aber ist mein Gut und mein Teil; du erhältst mein Erbteil.(dhs) Psa 16:5 O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 16:6 ============ Psa 16:6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me.(nas) Psa 16:6 σχοινία ἐπέπεσάν μοι ἐν τοῖς κρατίστοις καὶ γὰρ ἡ κληρονομία μου κρατίστη μοί ἐστιν (lxx) Psa 16:6 [Vulgate 15:6] lineae ceciderunt mihi in pulcherrimis et hereditas speciosissima mea est(vulgate) 6 ׃16 חֲבָלִ֣ים נָֽפְלוּ־לִ֭י בַּנְּעִמִ֑ים אַף־נַ֝חֲלָ֗ת שָֽׁפְרָ֥ה עָלֽ͏ָי׃ Psalms Psa 16:6 Das Los ist mir gefallen aufs Liebliche; mir ist ein schön Erbteil geworden.(dhs) Psa 16:6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Yes, I have a good inheritance.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 16:7 ============ Psa 16:7 I will bless the Lord who has counseled me; Indeed, my mind instructs me in the night.(nas) Psa 16:7 εὐλογήσω τὸν κύριον τὸν συνετίσαντά με ἔτι δὲ καὶ ἕως νυκτὸς ἐπαίδευσάν με οἱ νεφροί μου (lxx) Psa 16:7 [Vulgate 15:7] benedicam Domino qui dedit consilium mihi insuper et noctibus erudierunt me renes mei(vulgate) 7 ׃16 אֲבָרֵ֗ךְ אֶת־יְ֭הוָה אֲשֶׁ֣ר יְעָצָ֑נִי אַף־לֵ֝יל֗וֹת יִסְּר֥וּנִי כִלְיוֹתָֽי׃ Psalms Psa 16:7 Ich lobe den HERRN, der mir geraten hat; auch züchtigen mich meine Nieren des Nachts.(dhs) Psa 16:7 I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 16:8 ============ Psa 16:8 I have set the Lord continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.(nas) Psa 16:8 προωρώμην τὸν κύριον ἐνώπιόν μου διὰ παντός ὅτι ἐκ δεξιῶν μού ἐστιν ἵνα μὴ σαλευθῶ (lxx) Psa 16:8 [Vulgate 15:8] proponebam in conspectu meo semper quia a dextris meis est ne commovear(vulgate) 8 ׃16 שִׁוִּ֬יתִי יְהוָ֣ה לְנֶגְדִּ֣י תָמִ֑יד כִּ֥י מִֽ֝ימִינִ֗י בַּל־אֶמּֽוֹט׃ Psalms Psa 16:8 Ich habe den HERRN allezeit vor Augen; denn er ist mir zur Rechten, so werde ich fest bleiben.(dhs) Psa 16:8 I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 16:9 ============ Psa 16:9 Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will dwell securely.(nas) Psa 16:9 διὰ τοῦτο ηὐφράνθη ἡ καρδία μου καὶ ἠγαλλιάσατο ἡ γλῶσσά μου ἔτι δὲ καὶ ἡ σάρξ μου κατασκηνώσει ἐπ᾽ ἐλπίδι (lxx) Psa 16:9 [Vulgate 15:9] propterea laetatum est cor meum et exultavit gloria mea et caro mea habitavit confidenter(vulgate) 9 ׃16 לָכֵ֤ן ׀ שָׂמַ֣ח לִ֭בִּי וַיָּ֣גֶל כְּבוֹדִ֑י אַף־בְּ֝שָׂרִ֗י יִשְׁכֹּ֥ן לָבֶֽטַח׃ Psalms Psa 16:9 Darum freut sich mein Herz, und meine Ehre ist fröhlich; auch mein Fleisch wird sicher liegen.(dhs) Psa 16:9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 16:10 ============ Psa 16:10 For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.(nas) Psa 16:10 ὅτι οὐκ ἐγκαταλείψεις τὴν ψυχήν μου εἰς ᾅδην οὐδὲ δώσεις τὸν ὅσιόν σου ἰδεῖν διαφθοράν (lxx) Psa 16:10 [Vulgate 15:10a] non enim derelinques animam meam in inferno nec dabis sanctum tuum videre corruptionem(vulgate) 10 ׃16 כִּ֤י ׀ לֹא־תַעֲזֹ֣ב נַפְשִׁ֣י לִשְׁא֑וֹל לֹֽא־תִתֵּ֥ן חֲ֝סִידְךָ֗ לִרְא֥וֹת שָֽׁחַת׃ Psalms Psa 16:10 Denn du wirst meine Seele nicht dem Tode lassen und nicht zugeben, daß dein Heiliger verwese.(dhs) Psa 16:10 For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 16:11 ============ Psa 16:11 You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.(nas) Psa 16:11 ἐγνώρισάς μοι ὁδοὺς ζωῆς πληρώσεις με εὐφροσύνης μετὰ τοῦ προσώπου σου τερπνότητες ἐν τῇ δεξιᾷ σου εἰς τέλος (lxx) Psa 16:11 [Vulgate 15:10b] ostendes mihi semitam vitae plenitudinem laetitiarum ante vultum tuum decores in dextera tua aeternos(vulgate) 11 ׃16 תּֽוֹדִיעֵנִי֮ אֹ֤רַח חַ֫יִּ֥ים שֹׂ֣בַע שְׂ֭מָחוֹת אֶת־פָּנֶ֑יךָ נְעִמ֖וֹת בִּימִינְךָ֣ נֶֽצַח׃ Psalms Psa 16:11 Du tust mir kund den Weg zum Leben; vor dir ist Freude die Fülle und liebliches Wesen zu deiner Rechten ewiglich.(dhs) Psa 16:11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 17:1 ============ top of the page
