Today's Date: ======= Psalm 124:1 ============ Psa 124:1 "Had it not been the Lord who was on our side," Let Israel now say,(nas) Psa 124:1 ᾠδὴ τῶν ἀναβαθμῶν εἰ μὴ ὅτι κύριος ἦν ἐν ἡμῖν εἰπάτω δὴ Ισραηλ (lxx) Psa 124:1 [Vulgate 123:1] canticum graduum David nisi Dominus fuisset in nobis dicat nunc Israhel(vulgate) 1 ׃124 שִׁ֥יר הַֽמַּעֲל֗וֹת לְדָ֫וִ֥ד לוּלֵ֣י יְ֭הוָה שֶׁהָ֣יָה לָ֑נוּ יֹֽאמַר־נָ֝א יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Psalms Psa 124:1 (Ein Loblied im höhern Chor.) "If it had not been the Lord who was on our side," Let Israel now say--(nkjv) ======= Psalm 124:2 ============ Psa 124:2 "Had it not been the Lord who was on our side When men rose up against us,(nas) Psa 124:2 εἰ μὴ ὅτι κύριος ἦν ἐν ἡμῖν ἐν τῷ ἐπαναστῆναι ἀνθρώπους ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς (lxx) Psa 124:2 [Vulgate 123:2] nisi Dominus fuisset in nobis cum exsurgerent super nos homines(vulgate) 2 ׃124 לוּלֵ֣י יְ֭הוָה שֶׁהָ֣יָה לָ֑נוּ בְּק֖וּם עָלֵ֣ינוּ אָדָֽם׃ Psalms Psa 124:2 wo der HERR nicht bei uns wäre, wenn die Menschen sich wider uns setzen:(dhs) Psa 124:2 "If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, When men rose up against us,(nkjv) ======= Psalm 124:3 ============ Psa 124:3 Then they would have swallowed us alive, When their anger was kindled against us;(nas) Psa 124:3 ἄρα ζῶντας ἂν κατέπιον ἡμᾶς ἐν τῷ ὀργισθῆναι τὸν θυμὸν αὐτῶν ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς (lxx) Psa 124:3 [Vulgate 123:3] forsitan vivos absorbuissent nos cum irasceretur furor eorum super nos(vulgate) 3 ׃124 אֲ֭זַי חַיִּ֣ים בְּלָע֑וּנוּ בַּחֲר֖וֹת אַפָּ֣ם בָּֽנוּ׃ Psalms Psa 124:3 so verschlängen sie uns lebendig, wenn ihr Zorn über uns ergrimmte;(dhs) Psa 124:3 Then they would have swallowed us alive, When their wrath was kindled against us;(nkjv) ======= Psalm 124:4 ============ Psa 124:4 Then the waters would have engulfed us, The stream would have swept over our soul;(nas) Psa 124:4 ἄρα τὸ ὕδωρ κατεπόντισεν ἡμᾶς χείμαρρον διῆλθεν ἡ ψυχὴ ἡμῶν (lxx) Psa 124:4 [Vulgate 123:4] forsitan aquae circumdedissent nos(vulgate) 4 ׃124 אֲ֭זַי הַמַּ֣יִם שְׁטָפ֑וּנוּ נַ֗֜[c]חְלָה עָבַ֥ר עַל־נַפְשֵֽׁנוּ׃ Psalms Psa 124:4 so ersäufte uns Wasser, Ströme gingen über unsre Seele;(dhs) Psa 124:4 Then the waters would have overwhelmed us, The stream would have gone over our soul;(nkjv) ======= Psalm 124:5 ============ Psa 124:5 Then the raging waters would have swept over our soul."(nas) Psa 124:5 ἄρα διῆλθεν ἡ ψυχὴ ἡμῶν τὸ ὕδωρ τὸ ἀνυπόστατον (lxx) Psa 124:5 [Vulgate 123:5] torrens transisset super animam nostram forsitan transissent super animam nostram aquae superbae(vulgate) 5 ׃124 אֲ֭זַי עָבַ֣ר עַל־נַפְשֵׁ֑נוּ הַ֝מַּ֗יִם הַזֵּֽידוֹנִֽים׃ Psalms Psa 124:5 es gingen Wasser allzu hoch über unsre Seele.(dhs) Psa 124:5 Then the swollen waters Would have gone over our soul."(nkjv) ======= Psalm 124:6 ============ Psa 124:6 Blessed be the Lord, Who has not given us to be torn by their teeth.(nas) Psa 124:6 εὐλογητὸς κύριος ὃς οὐκ ἔδωκεν ἡμᾶς εἰς θήραν τοῖς ὀδοῦσιν αὐτῶν (lxx) Psa 124:6 [Vulgate 123:6] benedictus Dominus qui non dedit nos in praedam dentibus eorum(vulgate) 6 ׃124 בָּר֥וּךְ יְהוָ֑ה שֶׁלֹּ֥א נְתָנָ֥נוּ טֶ֝֗רֶף לְשִׁנֵּיהֶֽם׃ Psalms Psa 124:6 Gelobet sei der HERR, daß er uns nicht gibt zum Raub in ihre Zähne!(dhs) Psa 124:6 Blessed be the Lord, Who has not given us as prey to their teeth.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 124:7 ============ Psa 124:7 Our soul has escaped as a bird out of the snare of the trapper; The snare is broken and we have escaped.(nas) Psa 124:7 ἡ ψυχὴ ἡμῶν ὡς στρουθίον ἐρρύσθη ἐκ τῆς παγίδος τῶν θηρευόντων ἡ παγὶς συνετρίβη καὶ ἡμεῖς ἐρρύσθημεν (lxx) Psa 124:7 [Vulgate 123:7] anima nostra quasi avis erepta est de laqueo venantium laqueus contritus est et nos liberati sumus(vulgate) 7 ׃124 נַפְשֵׁ֗נוּ כְּצִפּ֥וֹר נִמְלְטָה֮ מִפַּ֢ח י֫וֹקְשִׁ֥ים הַפַּ֥ח נִשְׁבָּ֗ר וַאֲנַ֥חְנוּ נִמְלָֽטְנוּ׃ Psalms Psa 124:7 Unsre Seele ist entronnen wie ein Vogel dem Stricke des Voglers; der Strick ist zerrissen, wir sind los.(dhs) Psa 124:7 Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; The snare is broken, and we have escaped.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 124:8 ============ Psa 124:8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.(nas) Psa 124:8 ἡ βοήθεια ἡμῶν ἐν ὀνόματι κυρίου τοῦ ποιήσαντος τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν (lxx) Psa 124:8 [Vulgate 123:8] auxilium nostrum in nomine Domini qui fecit caelum et terram(vulgate) 8 ׃124 עֶ֭זְרֵנוּ בְּשֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה עֹ֝שֵׂ֗ה שָׁמַ֥יִם וָאָֽרֶץ׃ Psalms Psa 124:8 Unsre Hilfe steht im Namen des HERRN, der Himmel und Erden gemacht hat.(dhs) Psa 124:8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 125:1 ============ top of the page
