Today's Date: ======= Nehemiah 9:1 ============ Neh 9:1 Now on the twenty-fourth day of this month the sons of Israel assembled with fasting, in sackcloth and with dirt upon them.(nas) Neh 9:1 καὶ ἐν ἡμέρᾳ εἰκοστῇ καὶ τετάρτῃ τοῦ μηνὸς τούτου συνήχθησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἐν νηστείᾳ καὶ ἐν σάκκοις (lxx) Neh 9:1 In die autem vigesimo quarto mensis hujus, convenerunt filii Israël in jejunio et in saccis, et humus super eos.(vulgate) Nehemiah 9:1 In the foure and twentieth day of this moneth the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, and with sackecloth, and earth vpon them.(Geneva) Neh 9:1 Am vierundzwanzigsten Tage dieses Monats kamen die Kinder Israel zusammen mit Fasten und Säcken und Erde auf ihnen(dhs) Neh 9:1 Now on the twenty-fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, in sackcloth, and with dust on their heads.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 9:2 ============ Neh 9:2 The descendants of Israel separated themselves from all foreigners, and stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers.(nas) Neh 9:2 καὶ ἐχωρίσθησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἀπὸ παντὸς υἱοῦ ἀλλοτρίου καὶ ἔστησαν καὶ ἐξηγόρευσαν τὰς ἁμαρτίας αὐτῶν καὶ τὰς ἀνομίας τῶν πατέρων αὐτῶν (lxx) Neh 9:2 Et separatum est semen filiorum Israël ab omni filio alienigena: et steterunt, et confitebantur peccata sua, et iniquitates patrum suorum.(vulgate) Nehemiah 9:2 (And they that were of the seede of Israel were separated from all the strangers) and they stoode and confessed their sinnes and the iniquities of their fathers.(Geneva) Neh 9:2 und sonderten den Samen Israels ab von allen fremden Kindern und traten hin und bekannten ihre Sünden und ihrer Väter Missetaten.(dhs) Neh 9:2 Then those of Israelite lineage separated themselves from all foreigners; and they stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 9:3 ============ Neh 9:3 While they stood in their place, they read from the book of the law of the Lord their God for a fourth of the day; and for another fourth they confessed and worshiped the Lord their God.(nas) Neh 9:3 καὶ ἔστησαν ἐπὶ στάσει αὐτῶν καὶ ἀνέγνωσαν ἐν βιβλίῳ νόμου κυρίου θεοῦ αὐτῶν καὶ ἦσαν ἐξαγορεύοντες τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ προσκυνοῦντες τῷ κυρίῳ θεῷ αὐτῶν (lxx) Neh 9:3 Et consurrexerunt ad standum: et legerunt in volumine legis Domini Dei sui, quater in die, et quater confitebantur, et adorabant Dominum Deum suum.(vulgate) Nehemiah 9:3 And they stood vp in their place and read in the booke of the Lawe of the Lord their GOD foure times on the day, and they confessed and worshipped the Lord their God foure times.(Geneva) Neh 9:3 Und standen auf an ihrer Stätte, und man las im Gesetzbuch des HERRN, ihres Gottes, ein Viertel des Tages; und ein Viertel bekannten sie und beteten an den HERRN, ihren Gott.(dhs) Neh 9:3 And they stood up in their place and read from the Book of the Law of the Lord their God for one-fourth of the day; and for another fourth they confessed and worshiped the Lord their God.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 9:4 ============ Neh 9:4 Now on the Levites' platform stood Jeshua, Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani and Chenani, and they cried with a loud voice to the Lord their God.(nas) Neh 9:4 καὶ ἔστη ἐπὶ ἀναβάσει τῶν Λευιτῶν Ἰησοῦς καὶ υἱοὶ Καδμιηλ Σαχανια υἱὸς Σαραβια υἱοὶ Χανανι καὶ ἐβόησαν φωνῇ μεγάλῃ πρὸς κύριον τὸν θεὸν αὐτῶν (lxx) Neh 9:4 Surrexerunt autem super gradum Levitarum Josue, et Bani, et Cedmihel, Sabania, Bonni, Sarebias, Bani, et Chanani: et clamaverunt voce magna ad Dominum Deum suum.(vulgate) Nehemiah 9:4 Then stoode vp vpon the staires of the Leuites Ieshua, and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Chenani, and cryed with a loud voyce vnto the Lord their God.(Geneva) Neh 9:4 Und auf dem hohen Platz für die Leviten standen auf Jesua, Bani, Kadmiel, Sebanja, Bunni, Serebja, Bani und Chenani und schrieen laut zu dem HERRN, ihrem Gott.(dhs) Neh 9:4 Then Jeshua, Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Chenani stood on the stairs of the Levites and cried out with a loud voice to the Lord their God.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 9:5 ============ Neh 9:5 Then the Levites, Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah and Pethahiah, said, "Arise, bless the Lord your God forever and ever! O may Your glorious name be blessed And exalted above all blessing and praise!(nas) Neh 9:5 καὶ εἴποσαν οἱ Λευῖται Ἰησοῦς καὶ Καδμιηλ ἀνάστητε εὐλογεῖτε τὸν κύριον θεὸν ὑμῶν ἀπὸ τοῦ αἰῶνος καὶ ἕως τοῦ αἰῶνος καὶ εὐλογήσουσιν ὄνομα δόξης σου καὶ ὑψώσουσιν ἐπὶ πάσῃ εὐλογίᾳ καὶ αἰνέσει (lxx) Neh 9:5 Et dixerunt Levitæ Josue, et Cedmihel, Bonni, Hasebnia, Serebia, Odaia, Sebnia, Phathathia: Surgite, benedicite Domino Deo vestro ab æterno usque in æternum: et benedicant nomini gloriæ tuæ excelso in omni benedictione et laude.(vulgate) Nehemiah 9:5 And the Leuites said, euen Ieshua and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodiiah, Shebaniah and Pethahiah, Stande vp, and praise the Lorde your God for euer, and euer, and let them praise thy glorious Name, O God, which excelleth aboue all thankesgiuing and praise.(Geneva) Neh 9:5 Und die Leviten Jesua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hasabneja, Serebja, Hodia, Sebanja, Pethahja sprachen: Auf! Lobet den HERRN, euren Gott, von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit, und man lobe den Namen deiner Herrlichkeit, der erhaben ist über allen Preis und Ruhm.(dhs) Neh 9:5 And the Levites, Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said: "Stand up and bless the Lord your God Forever and ever! You have made the heavens, The heaven of heavens with all their host, The earth and all that is on it, The seas and all that is in them. They became stubborn and would not listen to Your commandments.(nas) Neh 9:16 καὶ αὐτοὶ καὶ οἱ πατέρες ἡμῶν ὑπερηφανεύσαντο καὶ ἐσκλήρυναν τὸν τράχηλον αὐτῶν καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσαν τῶν ἐντολῶν σου (lxx) Neh 9:16 Ipsi vero et patres nostri superbe egerunt, et induraverunt cervices suas, et non audierunt mandata tua.(vulgate) Nehemiah 9:16 But they and our fathers behaued them selues proudely, and hardened their neck, so that they hearkened not vnto thy commandements,(Geneva) Neh 9:16 Aber unsre Väter wurden stolz und halsstarrig, daß sie deinen Geboten nicht gehorchten,(dhs) Neh 9:16 "But they and our fathers acted proudly, Hardened their necks, And did not heed Your commandments.(nkjv) ======= Nehemiah 9:17 ============ Neh 9:17 "They refused to listen, And did not remember Your wondrous deeds which You had performed among them; So they became stubborn and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt. But You are a God of forgiveness, Gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness; And You did not forsake them.(nas) Neh 9:17 καὶ ἀνένευσαν τοῦ εἰσακοῦσαι καὶ οὐκ ἐμνήσθησαν τῶν θαυμασίων σου ὧν ἐποίησας μετ᾽ αὐτῶν καὶ ἐσκλήρυναν τὸν τράχηλον αὐτῶν καὶ ἔδωκαν ἀρχὴν ἐπιστρέψαι εἰς δουλείαν αὐτῶν ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ καὶ σὺ θεὸς ἐλεήμων καὶ οἰκτίρμων μακρόθυμος καὶ πολυέλεος καὶ οὐκ ἐγκατέλιπες αὐτούς (lxx) Neh 9:17 Et noluerunt audire, et non sunt recordati mirabilium tuorum quæ feceras eis. Et induraverunt cervices suas, et dederunt caput ut converterentur ad servitutem suam, quasi per contentionem. Tu autem, Deus propitius, clemens, et misericors, longanimis, et multæ miserationis, non dereliquisti eos,(vulgate) Nehemiah 9:17 But refused to obey, & would not remember thy marueilous works that thou haddest done for them, but hardened their neckes, and had in their heads to returne to their bondage by their rebellion: but thou, O God of mercies, gratious and full of compassion, of long suffring and of great mercie, yet forsookest them not.(Geneva) Neh 9:17 und weigerten sich zu hören und gedachten auch nicht an deine Wunder, die du an ihnen tatest; sondern sie wurden halsstarrig und warfen ihr Haupt auf, daß sie sich zurückwendeten zu Dienstbarkeit in ihrer Ungeduld. Aber du, mein Gott, vergabst und warst gnädig, barmherzig, geduldig und von großer Barmherzigkeit und verließest sie nicht.(dhs) Neh 9:17 They refused to obey, And they were not mindful of Your wonders That You did among them. Yet they acted arrogantly and did not listen to Your commandments but sinned against Your ordinances, By which if a man observes them he shall live.
