Today's Date: ======= Isaiah 10:1 ============ Isa 10:1 Woe to those who enact evil statutes And to those who constantly record unjust decisions, (nas) Isa 10:1 οὐαὶ τοῖς γράφουσιν πονηρίαν γράφοντες γὰρ πονηρίαν γράφουσιν (lxx) Isa 10:1 [Væ qui condunt leges iniquas, et scribentes injustitiam scripserunt,(vulgate) Isaiah 10:1 Wo vnto them that decree wicked decrees, and write grieuous things,(Geneva) Isa 10:1 Weh den Schriftgelehrten, die ungerechte Gesetze machen und die unrechtes Urteil schreiben,(dhs) Isa 10:1 "Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, Who write misfortune, Which they have prescribed(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 10:2 ============ Isa 10:2 So as to deprive the needy of justice And rob the poor of My people of their rights, So that widows may be their spoil And that they may plunder the orphans. (nas) Isa 10:2 ἐκκλίνοντες κρίσιν πτωχῶν ἁρπάζοντες κρίμα πενήτων τοῦ λαοῦ μου ὥστε εἶναι αὐτοῖς χήραν εἰς ἁρπαγὴν καὶ ὀρφανὸν εἰς προνομήν (lxx) Isa 10:2 ut opprimerent in judicio pauperes, et vim facerent causæ humilium populi mei; ut essent viduæ præda eorum, et pupillos diriperent.(vulgate) Isaiah 10:2 To keepe backe ye poore from iudgement, and to take away the iudgement of the poore of my people, that widowes may be their pray, and that they may spoyle the fatherlesse.(Geneva) Isa 10:2 auf daß sie die Sache der Armen beugen und Gewalt üben am Recht der Elenden unter meinem Volk, daß die Witwen ihr Raub und die Waisen ihre Beute sein müssen!(dhs) Isa 10:2 To rob the needy of justice, And to take what is right from the poor of My people, That widows may be their prey, And that they may rob the fatherless.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 10:3 ============ Isa 10:3 Now what will you do in the day of punishment, And in the devastation which will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your wealth? (nas) Isa 10:3 καὶ τί ποιήσουσιν ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῆς ἐπισκοπῆς ἡ γὰρ θλῖψις ὑμῖν πόρρωθεν ἥξει καὶ πρὸς τίνα καταφεύξεσθε τοῦ βοηθηθῆναι καὶ ποῦ καταλείψετε τὴν δόξαν ὑμῶν (lxx) Isa 10:3 Quid facietis in die visitationis, et calamitatis de longe venientis? ad cujus confugietis auxilium? et ubi derelinquetis gloriam vestram,(vulgate) Isaiah 10:3 What will ye doe nowe in the day of visitation, and of destruction, which shall come from farre? To whom will ye flee for helpe? And where will ye leaue your glorie?(Geneva) Isa 10:3 Was wollt ihr tun am Tage der Heimsuchung und des Unglücks, das von fern kommt? Zu wem wollt ihr fliehen um Hilfe? Und wo wollt ihr eure Ehre lassen,(dhs) Isa 10:3 What will you do in the day of punishment, And in the desolation which will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your glory?(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 10:4 ============ Isa 10:4 Nothing remains but to crouch among the captives Or fall among the slain. In spite of all this, His anger does not turn away And His hand is still stretched out. (nas) Isa 10:4 τοῦ μὴ ἐμπεσεῖν εἰς ἐπαγωγήν ἐπὶ πᾶσι τούτοις οὐκ ἀπεστράφη ὁ θυμός ἀλλ᾽ ἔτι ἡ χεὶρ ὑψηλή (lxx) Isa 10:4 ne incurvemini sub vinculo, et cum interfectis cadatis? Super omnibus his non est aversus furor ejus, sed adhuc manus ejus extenta.]~(vulgate) Isaiah 10:4 Without me euery one shall fall among them that are bound, and they shall fall downe among the slayne: yet for all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.(Geneva) Isa 10:4 daß sie nicht unter die Gefangenen gebeugt werde und unter die Erschlagenen falle? For all this His anger is not turned away, But His hand is stretched out still.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 10:5 ============ Isa 10:5 Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger And the staff in whose hands is My indignation, (nas) Isa 10:5 οὐαὶ Ἀσσυρίοις ἡ ῥάβδος τοῦ θυμοῦ μου καὶ ὀργῆς ἐστιν ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν αὐτῶν (lxx) Isa 10:5 [Væ Assur! virga furoris mei et baculus ipse est; in manu eorum indignatio mea.(vulgate) Isaiah 10:5 O Asshur, the rodde of my wrath: and the staffe in their hands is mine indignation.(Geneva) Isa 10:5 O weh Assur, der meines Zornes Rute und in dessen Hand meines Grimmes Stecken ist!(dhs) Isa 10:5 "Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger And the staff in whose hand is My indignation.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 10:6 ============ Isa 10:6 I send it against a godless nation And commission it against the people of My fury To capture booty and to seize plunder, And to trample them down like mud in the streets. (nas) Isa 10:6 τὴν ὀργήν μου εἰς ἔθνος ἄνομον ἀποστελῶ καὶ τῷ ἐμῷ λαῷ συντάξω ποιῆσαι σκῦλα καὶ προνομὴν καὶ καταπατεῖν τὰς πόλεις καὶ θεῖναι αὐτὰς εἰς κονιορτόν (lxx) Isa 10:6 Ad gentem fallacem mittam eum, et contra populum furoris mei mandabo illi, ut auferat spolia, et diripiat prædam, et ponat illum in conculcationem quasi lutum platearum.(vulgate) Isaiah 10:6 I will sende him to a dissembling nation, and I will giue him a charge against the people of my wrath to take the spoyle and to take the pray, and to treade them vnder feete like the mire in the streete.(Geneva) Isa 10:6 Ich will ihn senden gegen ein Heuchelvolk und ihm Befehl tun gegen das Volk meines Zorns, daß er's beraube und austeile und zertrete es wie Kot auf der Gasse,(dhs) Isa 10:6 I will send him against an ungodly nation, And against the people of My wrath I will give him charge, To seize the spoil, to take the prey, And to tread them down like the mire of the streets.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 10:7 ============ Isa 10:7 Yet it does not so intend, Nor does it plan so in its heart, But rather it is its purpose to destroy And to cut off many nations. (nas) Isa 10:7 αὐτὸς δὲ οὐχ οὕτως ἐνεθυμήθη καὶ τῇ ψυχῇ οὐχ οὕτως λελόγισται ἀλλὰ ἀπαλλάξει ὁ νοῦς αὐτοῦ καὶ τοῦ ἔθνη ἐξολεθρεῦσαι οὐκ ὀλίγα (lxx) Isa 10:7 Ipse autem non sic arbitrabitur, et cor ejus non ita existimabit; sed ad conterendum erit cor ejus, et ad internecionem gentium non paucarum.(vulgate) Isaiah 10:7 But he thinketh not so, neither doeth his heart esteeme it so: but he imagineth to destroy and to cut off not a fewe nations.(Geneva) Isa 10:7 wiewohl er's nicht so meint und sein Herz nicht so denkt; sondern sein Herz steht, zu vertilgen und auszurotten nicht wenig Völker.(dhs) Isa 10:7 Yet he does not mean so, Nor does his heart think so; But it is in his heart to destroy, And cut off not a few nations.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 10:8 ============ Isa 10:8 For it says, "Are not my princes all kings? (nas) Isa 10:9 καὶ ἐρεῖ οὐκ ἔλαβον τὴν χώραν τὴν ἐπάνω Βαβυλῶνος καὶ Χαλαννη οὗ ὁ πύργος ᾠκοδομήθη καὶ ἔλαβον Ἀραβίαν καὶ Δαμασκὸν καὶ Σαμάρειαν (lxx) Isa 10:9 Numquid non principes mei simul reges sunt? numquid non ut Charcamis, sic Calano? et ut Arphad, sic Emath? numquid non ut Damascus, sic Samaria?(vulgate) Isaiah 10:9 Is not Calno as Carchemish? "(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 10:12 ============ Isa 10:12 So it will be that when the Lord has completed all His work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, He will say, "I will punish the fruit of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria and the pomp of his haughtiness."(nas) Isa 10:12 καὶ ἔσται ὅταν συντελέσῃ κύριος πάντα ποιῶν ἐν τῷ ὄρει Σιων καὶ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ἐπάξει ἐπὶ τὸν νοῦν τὸν μέγαν τὸν ἄρχοντα τῶν Ἀσσυρίων καὶ ἐπὶ τὸ ὕψος τῆς δόξης τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτοῦ (lxx) Isa 10:12 Et erit, cum impleverit Dominus cuncta opera sua in monte Sion et in Jerusalem, visitabo super fructum magnifici cordis regis Assur, et super gloriam altitudinis oculorum ejus.(vulgate) Isaiah 10:12 But when the Lorde hath accomplished all his worke vpon mount Zion and Ierusalem, I will visite the fruite of the proude heart of the King of Asshur, and his glorious and proud lookes,(Geneva) Isa 10:12 Wenn aber der HERR all sein Werk ausgerichtet hat auf dem Berge Zion und zu Jerusalem, will ich heimsuchen die Frucht des Hochmuts des Königs von Assyrien und die Pracht seiner Hoffärtigen Augen,(dhs) Isa 10:12 Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Lord has performed all His work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, that He will say, "I will punish the fruit of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his haughty looks."(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 10:13 ============ Isa 10:13 For he has said, "By the power of my hand and by my wisdom I did this, For I have understanding; And I removed the boundaries of the peoples And plundered their treasures, And like a mighty man I brought down their inhabitants, (nas) Isa 10:13 εἶπεν γάρ τῇ ἰσχύι ποιήσω καὶ τῇ σοφίᾳ τῆς συνέσεως ἀφελῶ ὅρια ἐθνῶν καὶ τὴν ἰσχὺν αὐτῶν προνομεύσω καὶ σείσω πόλεις κατοικουμένας (lxx) Isa 10:13 Dixit enim: In fortitudine manus meæ feci, et in sapientia mea intellexi; et abstuli terminos populorum, et principes eorum deprædatus sum, et detraxi quasi potens in sublimi residentes.(vulgate) Isaiah 10:13 Because he said, By ye power of mine owne hand haue I done it, and by my wisdome, because I am wise: therefore I haue remooued the borders of the people, and haue spoyled their treasures, and haue pulled downe the inhabitants like a valiant man.(Geneva) Isa 10:13 darum daß er spricht: Ich habe es durch meiner Hände Kraft ausgerichtet und durch meine Weisheit, denn ich bin klug; ich habe die Länder anders geteilt und ihr Einkommen geraubt und wie ein Mächtiger die Einwohner zu Boden geworfen,(dhs) Isa 10:13 For he says: "By the strength of my hand I have done it, And by my wisdom, for I am prudent; Also I have removed the boundaries of the people, And have robbed their treasuries; So I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 10:14 ============ Isa 10:14 And my hand reached to the riches of the peoples like a nest, And as one gathers abandoned eggs, I gathered all the earth; And there was not one that flapped its wing or opened its beak or chirped."(nas) Isa 10:14 καὶ τὴν οἰκουμένην ὅλην καταλήμψομαι τῇ χειρὶ ὡς νοσσιὰν καὶ ὡς καταλελειμμένα ᾠὰ ἀρῶ καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ὃς διαφεύξεταί με ἢ ἀντείπῃ μοι (lxx) Isa 10:14 Et invenit quasi nidum manus mea fortitudinem populorum; et sicut colliguntur ova quæ derelicta sunt, sic universam terram ego congregavi; et non fuit qui moveret pennam, et aperiret os, et ganniret.(vulgate) Isaiah 10:14 And mine hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people, and as one gathereth egges that are left, so haue I gathered all the earth: and there was none to mooue the wing or to open the mouth, or to whisper.(Geneva) Isa 10:14 und meine Hand hat gefunden die Völker wie ein Vogelnest, daß ich habe alle Lande zusammengerafft, wie man Eier aufrafft, die verlassen sind, da keines eine Feder regt oder den Schnabel aufsperrt oder zischt.(dhs) Isa 10:14 My hand has found like a nest the riches of the people, And as one gathers eggs that are left, I have gathered all the earth; And there was no one who moved his wing, Nor opened his mouth with even a peep."(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 10:15 ============ Isa 10:15 Is the axe to boast itself over the one who chops with it? Is the saw to exalt itself over the one who wields it? That would be like a club wielding those who lift it, Or like a rod lifting him who is not wood. (nas) Isa 10:15 μὴ δοξασθήσεται ἀξίνη ἄνευ τοῦ κόπτοντος ἐν αὐτῇ ἢ ὑψωθήσεται πρίων ἄνευ τοῦ ἕλκοντος αὐτόν ὡσαύτως ἐάν τις ἄρῃ ῥάβδον ἢ ξύλον (lxx) Isa 10:15 Numquid gloriabitur securis contra eum qui secat in ea? aut exaltabitur serra contra eum a quo trahitur? Quomodo si elevetur virga contra elevantem se, et exaltetur baculus, qui utique lignum est.(vulgate) Isaiah 10:15 Shall the axe boast it selfe against him that heweth therewith? or shall the sawe exalt it selfe against him that moueth it? as if the rod shoulde lift vp it selfe against him that taketh it vp, or the staffe should exalt it selfe, as it were no wood.(Geneva) Isa 10:15 Mag sich auch eine Axt rühmen gegen den, der damit haut? oder eine Säge trotzen gegen den, der sie zieht? Als ob die Rute schwänge den der sie hebt; als ob der Stecken höbe den, der kein Holz ist!(dhs) Isa 10:15 Shall the ax boast itself against him who chops with it? Or shall the saw exalt itself against him who saws with it? As if a rod could wield itself against those who lift it up, Or as if a staff could lift up, as if it were not wood!(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 10:16 ============ Isa 10:16 Therefore the Lord, the God of hosts, will send a wasting disease among his stout warriors; And under his glory a fire will be kindled like a burning flame. (nas) Isa 10:16 καὶ οὐχ οὕτως ἀλλὰ ἀποστελεῖ κύριος σαβαωθ εἰς τὴν σὴν τιμὴν ἀτιμίαν καὶ εἰς τὴν σὴν δόξαν πῦρ καιόμενον καυθήσεται (lxx) Isa 10:16 Propter hoc mittet Dominator, Dominus exercituum, in pinguibus ejus tenuitatem; et subtus gloriam ejus succensa ardebit quasi combustio ignis.(vulgate) Isaiah 10:16 Therefore shall the Lorde God of hostes send amog his fat men, leannes, & vnder his glorie he shall kindle a burning, like the burning of fire.(Geneva) Isa 10:16 Darum wird der HERR HERR Zebaoth unter die Fetten Assurs die Darre senden, und seine Herrlichkeit wird er anzünden, daß sie brennen wird wie ein Feuer.(dhs) Isa 10:16 Therefore the Lord, the Lord of hosts, Will send leanness among his fat ones; And under his glory He will kindle a burning Like the burning of a fire.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 10:17 ============ Isa 10:17 And the light of Israel will become a fire and his Holy One a flame, And it will burn and devour his thorns and his briars in a single day. (nas) Isa 10:17 καὶ ἔσται τὸ φῶς τοῦ Ισραηλ εἰς πῦρ καὶ ἁγιάσει αὐτὸν ἐν πυρὶ καιομένῳ καὶ φάγεται ὡσεὶ χόρτον τὴν ὕλην τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ (lxx) Isa 10:17 Et erit lumen Israël in igne, et Sanctus ejus in flamma; et succendetur, et devorabitur spina ejus et vepres in die una.(vulgate) Isaiah 10:17 And the light of Israel shalbe as a fire, and the Holy one thereof as a flame, and it shall burne, and deuoure his thornes & his briers in one day:(Geneva) Isa 10:17 Und das Licht Israels wird ein Feuer sein, und sein Heiliger wird eine Flamme sein, und sie wird seine Dornen und Hecken anzünden und verzehren auf einen Tag.(dhs) Isa 10:17 So the Light of Israel will be for a fire, And his Holy One for a flame; It will burn and devour His thorns and his briers in one day.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 10:18 ============ Isa 10:18 And He will destroy the glory of his forest and of his fruitful garden, both soul and body, And it will be as when a sick man wastes away. (nas) Isa 10:18 ἀποσβεσθήσεται τὰ ὄρη καὶ οἱ βουνοὶ καὶ οἱ δρυμοί καὶ καταφάγεται ἀπὸ ψυχῆς ἕως σαρκῶν καὶ ἔσται ὁ φεύγων ὡς ὁ φεύγων ἀπὸ φλογὸς καιομένης (lxx) Isa 10:18 Et gloria saltus ejus, et carmeli ejus, ab anima usque ad carnem consumetur; et erit terrore profugus.(vulgate) Isaiah 10:18 And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitfull fieldes both soule and flesh: and he shalbe as ye fainting of a standard bearer.(Geneva) Isa 10:18 Und die Herrlichkeit seines Waldes und seines Baumgartens soll zunichte werden, von den Seelen bis aufs Fleisch, und wird zergehen und verschwinden,(dhs) Isa 10:18 And it will consume the glory of his forest and of his fruitful field, Both soul and body; And they will be as when a sick man wastes away.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 10:19 ============ Isa 10:19 And the rest of the trees of his forest will be so small in number That a child could write them down. (nas) Isa 10:19 καὶ οἱ καταλειφθέντες ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν ἔσονται ἀριθμός καὶ παιδίον γράψει αὐτούς (lxx) Isa 10:19 Et reliquiæ ligni saltus ejus præ paucitate numerabuntur, et puer scribet eos.]~(vulgate) Isaiah 10:19 And the rest of the trees of his forest shalbe fewe, that a childe may tell them.(Geneva) Isa 10:19 daß die übrigen Bäume seines Waldes können gezählt werden und ein Knabe sie kann aufschreiben.(dhs) Isa 10:19 Then the rest of the trees of his forest Will be so few in number That a child may write them.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 10:20 ============ Isa 10:20 Now in that day the remnant of Israel, and those of the house of Jacob who have escaped, will never again rely on the one who struck them, but will truly rely on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel. (nas) Isa 10:20 καὶ ἔσται ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ οὐκέτι προστεθήσεται τὸ καταλειφθὲν Ισραηλ καὶ οἱ σωθέντες τοῦ Ιακωβ οὐκέτι μὴ πεποιθότες ὦσιν ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀδικήσαντας αὐτούς ἀλλὰ ἔσονται πεποιθότες ἐπὶ τὸν θεὸν τὸν ἅγιον τοῦ Ισραηλ τῇ ἀληθείᾳ (lxx) Isa 10:20 [Et erit in die illa: non adjiciet residuum Israël, et hi qui fugerint de domo Jacob, inniti super eo qui percutit eos; sed innitetur super Dominum, Sanctum Israël, in veritate.(vulgate) Isaiah 10:20 And at that day shall the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Iaakob, stay no more vpon him that smote them, but shal stay vpon ye Lord, ye Holy one of Israel in trueth.(Geneva) Isa 10:20 Zu der Zeit werden die Übriggebliebenen in Israel und die errettet werden im Hause Jakob, sich nicht mehr verlassen auf den, der sie schlägt; sondern sie werden sich verlassen auf den HERRN, den Heiligen in Israel, in der Wahrheit.(dhs) Isa 10:20 And it shall come to pass in that day That the remnant of Israel, And such as have escaped of the house of Jacob, Will never again depend on him who defeated them, But will depend on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 10:21 ============ Isa 10:21 A remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God.
