I am not strong enough to dig; I am ashamed to beg. And he said to him, 'Take your bill, and write eighty.'(nkjv) ======= Luke 16:8 ============ Luk 16:8 And his master praised the unrighteous manager because he had acted shrewdly; for the sons of this age are more shrewd in relation to their own kind than the sons of light. (nas) Luk 16:8 καὶ ἐπῄνεσεν ὁ κύριος τὸν οἰκονόμον τῆς ἀδικίας ὅτι φρονίμως ἐποίησεν· ὅτι οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου φρονιμώτεροι ὑπὲρ τοὺς υἱοὺς τοῦ φωτὸς εἰς τὴν γενεὰν τὴν ἑαυτῶν εἰσιν. Wherefore the children of this worlde are in their generation wiser then the children of light.(Geneva) Luk 16:8 Und der HERR lobte den ungerechten Haushalter, daß er klüglich gehandelt hatte; denn die Kinder dieser Welt sind klüger als die Kinder des Lichtes in ihrem Geschlecht.(dhs) Luk 16:8 So the master commended the unjust steward because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light.(nkjv) ======= Luke 16:9 ============ Luk 16:9 And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by means of the wealth of unrighteousness, so that when it fails, they will receive you into the eternal dwellings. (nas) Luk 16:15 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, ὑμεῖς ἐστε οἱ δικαιοῦντες ἑαυτοὺς ἐνώπιον τῶν ἀνθρώπων, ὁ δὲ θεὸς γινώσκει τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν· ὅτι τὸ ἐν ἀνθρώποις ὑψηλὸν βδέλυγμα ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.(nkjv) ======= Luke 16:16 ============ Luk 16:16 "The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John; since that time the gospel of the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it. (nas) Luk 16:16 ὁ νόμος καὶ οἱ προφῆται μέχρι ἰωάννου· ἀπὸ τότε ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ εὐαγγελίζεται καὶ πᾶς εἰς αὐτὴν βιάζεται.
