Today's Date: ======= Proverbs 23:1 ============ Pro 23:1 When you sit down to dine with a ruler, Consider carefully what is before you,(nasb) Pro 23:1 [Quando sederis ut comedas cum principe, diligenter attende quæ apposita sunt ante faciem tuam.(vulgate) Proverbios 23:1 Cuando te sientes a comer con algún gobernante, considera bien lo que [está] delante de ti;(E) Proverbes 23:1 Si tu es à table avec un grand, Fais attention à ce qui est devant toi;(F) Pro 23:1 Wenn du sitzest und issest mit einem Herrn, so merke, wen du vor dir hast,(D) Pro 23:1 ἐὰν καθίσῃς δειπνεῖν ἐπὶ τραπέζης δυναστῶν νοητῶς νόει τὰ παρατιθέμενά σοι(lxx) Pro 23:1 When you sit down to eat with a ruler, Consider carefully what is before you;(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 23:2 ============ Pro 23:2 And put a knife to your throat If you are a man of great appetite.(nasb) Pro 23:2 Et statue cultrum in gutture tuo: si tamen habes in potestate animam tuam.(vulgate) Proverbios 23:2 y pon cuchillo a tu garganta, si tienes gran apetito.(E) Proverbes 23:2 Mets un couteau à ta gorge, Si tu as trop d'avidité.(F) Pro 23:2 und setze ein Messer an deine Kehle, wenn du gierig bist.(D) Pro 23:2 καὶ ἐπίβαλλε τὴν χεῖρά σου εἰδὼς ὅτι τοιαῦτά σε δεῖ παρασκευάσαι(lxx) Pro 23:2 And put a knife to your throat If you are a man given to appetite.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 23:3 ============ Pro 23:3 Do not desire his delicacies, For it is deceptive food.(nasb) Pro 23:3 Ne desideres de cibis ejus, in quo est panis mendacii.(vulgate) Proverbios 23:3 No codicies sus manjares delicados, porque [es] pan engañoso.(E) Proverbes 23:3 Ne convoite pas ses friandises: C'est un aliment trompeur.(F) Pro 23:3 Wünsche dir nichts von seinen feinen Speisen; denn es ist falsches Brot.(D) Pro 23:3 εἰ δὲ ἀπληστότερος εἶ μὴ ἐπιθύμει τῶν ἐδεσμάτων αὐτοῦ ταῦτα γὰρ ἔχεται ζωῆς ψευδοῦς(lxx) Pro 23:3 Do not desire his delicacies, For they are deceptive food.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 23:4 ============ Pro 23:4 Do not weary yourself to gain wealth, Cease from your consideration of it.(nasb) Pro 23:4 Noli laborare ut diteris, sed prudentiæ tuæ pone modum.(vulgate) Proverbios 23:4 No te afanes por ser rico; sé prudente y desiste.(E) Proverbes 23:4 Ne te tourmente pas pour t'enrichir, N'y applique pas ton intelligence.(F) Pro 23:4 Bemühe dich nicht reich zu werden und laß ab von deinen Fündlein.(D) Pro 23:4 μὴ παρεκτείνου πένης ὢν πλουσίῳ τῇ δὲ σῇ ἐννοίᾳ ἀπόσχου(lxx) Pro 23:4 Do not overwork to be rich; Because of your own understanding, cease(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 23:5 ============ Pro 23:5 When you set your eyes on it, it is gone. For wealth certainly makes itself wings Like an eagle that flies toward the heavens.(nasb) Pro 23:5 Ne erigas oculos tuos ad opes quas non potes habere, quia facient sibi pennas quasi aquilæ, et volabunt in cælum.(vulgate) Proverbios 23:5 ¿Has de poner tus ojos en lo que no es nada? Porque [las riquezas] se harán alas, como alas de águila, y volarán al cielo.(E) Proverbes 23:5 Veux-tu poursuivre du regard ce qui va disparaître? Car la richesse se fait des ailes, Et comme l'aigle, elle prend son vol vers les cieux.(F) Pro 23:5 Laß dein Augen nicht fliegen nach dem, was du nicht haben kannst; denn dasselbe macht sich Flügel wie ein Adler und fliegt gen Himmel.(D) Pro 23:5 ἐὰν ἐπιστήσῃς τὸ σὸν ὄμμα πρὸς αὐτόν οὐδαμοῦ φανεῖται κατεσκεύασται γὰρ αὐτῷ πτέρυγες ὥσπερ ἀετοῦ καὶ ὑποστρέφει εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ προεστηκότος αὐτοῦ(lxx) Pro 23:5 Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle toward heaven.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 23:6 ============ Pro 23:6 Do not eat the bread of a selfish man, Or desire his delicacies;(nasb) Pro 23:6 Ne comedas cum homine invido, et ne desideres cibos ejus:(vulgate) Proverbios 23:6 No comas pan de hombre de mal ojo, ni codicies sus manjares;(E) Proverbes 23:6 Ne mange pas le pain de celui dont le regard est malveillant, Et ne convoite pas ses friandises;(F) Pro 23:6 Iß nicht Brot bei einem Neidischen und wünsche dir von seinen feinen Speisen nichts.(D) Pro 23:6 μὴ συνδείπνει ἀνδρὶ βασκάνῳ μηδὲ ἐπιθύμει τῶν βρωμάτων αὐτοῦ(lxx) Pro 23:6 Do not eat the bread of a miser, Nor desire his delicacies;(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 23:7 ============ Pro 23:7 For as he thinks within himself, so he is. He says to you, "Eat and drink!" But his heart is not with you.(nasb) Pro 23:7 quoniam in similitudinem arioli et conjectoris æstimat quod ignorat. Comede et bibe, dicet tibi; et mens ejus non est tecum.(vulgate) Proverbios 23:7 Porque como piensa en su corazón, así [es] él. Come y bebe, te dirá; Mas su corazón no está contigo.(E) Proverbes 23:7 Car il est comme les pensées de son âme. porque menospreciará la prudencia de tus palabras.(E) Proverbes 23:9 Ne parle pas aux oreilles de l'insensé, Car il méprise la sagesse de tes discours.(F) Pro 23:9 Rede nicht vor des Narren Ohren; denn er verachtet die Klugheit deiner Rede.(D) Pro 23:9 εἰς ὦτα ἄφρονος μηδὲν λέγε μήποτε μυκτηρίσῃ τοὺς συνετοὺς λόγους σου(lxx) Pro 23:9 Do not speak in the hearing of a fool, For he will despise the wisdom of your words.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 23:10 ============ Pro 23:10 Do not move the ancient boundary Or go into the fields of the fatherless,(nasb) Pro 23:10 Ne attingas parvulorum terminos, et agrum pupillorum ne introëas:(vulgate) Proverbios 23:10 No remuevas el término antiguo, ni entres en la heredad de los huérfanos:(E) Proverbes 23:10 Ne déplace pas la borne ancienne, Et n'entre pas dans le champ des orphelins;(F) Pro 23:10 Verrücke nicht die vorigen Grenzen und gehe nicht auf der Waisen Acker.(D) Pro 23:10 μὴ μεταθῇς ὅρια αἰώνια εἰς δὲ κτῆμα ὀρφανῶν μὴ εἰσέλθῃς(lxx) Pro 23:10 Do not remove the ancient landmark, Nor enter the fields of the fatherless;(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 23:11 ============ Pro 23:11 For their Redeemer is strong; He will plead their case against you.(nasb) Pro 23:11 propinquus enim illorum fortis est, et ipse judicabit contra te causam illorum.]~(vulgate) Proverbios 23:11 Porque el defensor de ellos [es] el Fuerte, el cual juzgará la causa de ellos contra ti.(E) Proverbes 23:11 Car leur vengeur est puissant: Il défendra leur cause contre toi.(F) Pro 23:11 Denn ihr Erlöser ist mächtig; der wird ihre Sache wider dich ausführen.(D) Pro 23:11 ὁ γὰρ λυτρούμενος αὐτοὺς κύριος κραταιός ἐστιν καὶ κρινεῖ τὴν κρίσιν αὐτῶν μετὰ σοῦ(lxx) Pro 23:11 For their Redeemer is mighty; He will plead their cause against you.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 23:12 ============ Pro 23:12 Apply your heart to discipline And your ears to words of knowledge.(nasb) Pro 23:12 [Ingrediatur ad doctrinam cor tuum, et aures tuæ ad verba scientiæ.(vulgate) Proverbios 23:12 Aplica tu corazón a la enseñanza, y tus oídos a las palabras de sabiduría.(E) Proverbes 23:12 Ouvre ton coeur à l'instruction, Et tes oreilles aux paroles de la science.(F) Pro 23:12 Gib dein Herz zur Zucht und deine Ohren zu vernünftiger Rede.(D) Pro 23:12 δὸς εἰς παιδείαν τὴν καρδίαν σου τὰ δὲ ὦτά σου ἑτοίμασον λόγοις αἰσθήσεως(lxx) Pro 23:12 Apply your heart to instruction, And your ears to words of knowledge.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 23:13 ============ Pro 23:13 Do not hold back discipline from the child, Although you strike him with the rod, he will not die.(nasb) Pro 23:13 Noli subtrahere a puero disciplinam: si enim percusseris eum virga, non morietur.(vulgate) Proverbios 23:13 No rehúses corregir al muchacho; porque [si] lo castigas con vara, no morirá.(E) Proverbes 23:13 N'épargne pas la correction à l'enfant; Si tu le frappes de la verge, il ne mourra point.(F) Pro 23:13 Laß nicht ab den Knaben zu züchtigen; denn wenn du ihn mit der Rute haust, so wird man ihn nicht töten.(D) Pro 23:13 μὴ ἀπόσχῃ νήπιον παιδεύειν ὅτι ἐὰν πατάξῃς αὐτὸν ῥάβδῳ οὐ μὴ ἀποθάνῃ(lxx) Pro 23:13 Do not withhold correction from a child, For if you beat him with a rod, he will not die.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 23:14 ============ Pro 23:14 You shall strike him with the rod And rescue his soul from Sheol.(nasb) Pro 23:14 Tu virga percuties eum, et animam ejus de inferno liberabis.(vulgate) Proverbios 23:14 Tú lo castigarás con vara, y librarás su alma del infierno.(E) Proverbes 23:14 En le frappant de la verge, Tu délivres son âme du séjour des morts.(F) Pro 23:14 Du haust ihn mit der Rute; aber du errettest seine Seele vom Tode.(D) Pro 23:14 σὺ μὲν γὰρ πατάξεις αὐτὸν ῥάβδῳ τὴν δὲ ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ ἐκ θανάτου ῥύσῃ(lxx) Pro 23:14 You shall beat him with a rod, And deliver his soul from hell.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 23:15 ============ Pro 23:15 My son, if your heart is wise, My own heart also will be glad;(nasb) Pro 23:15 Fili mi, si sapiens fuerit animus tuus, gaudebit tecum cor meum:(vulgate) Proverbios 23:15 Hijo mío, si tu corazón fuere sabio, también a mí se me alegrará el corazón;(E) Proverbes 23:15 Mon fils, si ton coeur est sage, Mon coeur à moi sera dans la joie;(F) Pro 23:15 Mein Sohn, wenn dein Herz weise ist, so freut sich auch mein Herz;(D) Pro 23:15 υἱέ ἐὰν σοφὴ γένηταί σου ἡ καρδία εὐφρανεῖς καὶ τὴν ἐμὴν καρδίαν(lxx) Pro 23:15 My son, if your heart is wise, My heart will rejoice--indeed, I myself;(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 23:16 ============ Pro 23:16 And my inmost being will rejoice When your lips speak what is right.(nasb) Pro 23:16 et exsultabunt renes mei, cum locuta fuerint rectum labia tua.(vulgate) Proverbios 23:16 Mis entrañas también se alegrarán cuando tus labios hablaren cosas rectas.(E) Proverbes 23:16 Mes entrailles seront émues d'allégresse, Quand tes lèvres diront ce qui est droit.(F) Pro 23:16 und meine Nieren sind froh, wenn deine Lippen reden, was recht ist.(D) Pro 23:16 καὶ ἐνδιατρίψει λόγοις τὰ σὰ χείλη πρὸς τὰ ἐμὰ χείλη ἐὰν ὀρθὰ ὦσιν(lxx) Pro 23:16 Yes, my inmost being will rejoice When your lips speak right things.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 23:17 ============ Pro 23:17 Do not let your heart envy sinners, But live in the fear of the Lord always.(nasb) Pro 23:17 Non æmuletur cor tuum peccatores, sed in timore Domini esto tota die:(vulgate) Proverbios 23:17 No tenga tu corazón envidia de los pecadores, antes [persevera] en el temor de Jehová todo el tiempo:(E) Proverbes 23:17 Que ton coeur n'envie point les pécheurs, Mais qu'il ait toujours la crainte de l'Eternel;(F) Pro 23:17 Dein Herz folge nicht den Sündern, sondern sei täglich in der Furcht des HERRN.(D) Pro 23:17 μὴ ζηλούτω ἡ καρδία σου ἁμαρτωλούς ἀλλὰ ἐν φόβῳ κυρίου ἴσθι ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν(lxx) Pro 23:17 Do not let your heart envy sinners, But be zealous for the fear of the Lord all the day;(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 23:18 ============ Pro 23:18 Surely there is a future, And your hope will not be cut off.(nasb) Pro 23:18 quia habebis spem in novissimo, et præstolatio tua non auferetur.(vulgate) Proverbios 23:18 Porque ciertamente hay porvenir, y tu esperanza no será cortada.(E) Proverbes 23:18 Car il est un avenir, Et ton espérance ne sera pas anéantie.(F) Pro 23:18 Denn es wird dir hernach gut sein, und dein Warten wird nicht trügen.(D) Pro 23:18 ἐὰν γὰρ τηρήσῃς αὐτά ἔσται σοι ἔκγονα ἡ δὲ ἐλπίς σου οὐκ ἀποστήσεται(lxx) Pro 23:18 For surely there is a hereafter, And your hope will not be cut off.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 23:19 ============ Pro 23:19 Listen, my son, and be wise, And direct your heart in the way.(nasb) Pro 23:19 Audi, fili mi, et esto sapiens, et dirige in via animum tuum.(vulgate) Proverbios 23:19 Oye tú, hijo mío, y sé sabio, y endereza tu corazón al camino.(E) Proverbes 23:19 Ecoute, mon fils, et sois sage; y cuando tu madre envejeciere, no la menosprecies.(E) Proverbes 23:22 Ecoute ton père, lui qui t'a engendré, Et ne méprise pas ta mère, quand elle est devenue vieille.(F) Pro 23:22 Gehorche deinem Vater, der dich gezeugt hat, und verachte deine Mutter nicht, wenn sie alt wird.(D) Pro 23:22 ἄκουε υἱέ πατρὸς τοῦ γεννήσαντός σε καὶ μὴ καταφρόνει ὅτι γεγήρακέν σου ἡ μήτηρ(lxx) Pro 23:22 Listen to your father who begot you, And do not despise your mother when she is old.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 23:23 ============ Pro 23:23 Buy truth, and do not sell it, Get wisdom and instruction and understanding.(nasb) Pro 23:23 Veritatem eme, et noli vendere sapientiam, et doctrinam, et intelligentiam.(vulgate) Proverbios 23:23 Compra la verdad y no la vendas;
