Today's Date: Job 22:30 He will even deliver one who is not innocent; Yes, he will be delivered by the purity of your hands."(nkjv) ======= Job 23:1 ============ Job 23:1 Then Job replied,(nasb) Job 23:1 ὑπολαβὼν δὲ Ιωβ λέγει (lxx) Job 23:1 Respondens autem Job, ait:(vulgate) Job 23:1 Hiob antwortete und sprach:(dhs) Job 23:1 Then Job answered and said:(nkjv) ======= Job 23:2 ============ Job 23:2 "Even today my complaint is rebellion; His hand is heavy despite my groaning.(nasb) Job 23:2 καὶ δὴ οἶδα ὅτι ἐκ χειρός μου ἡ ἔλεγξίς ἐστιν καὶ ἡ χεὶρ αὐτοῦ βαρεῖα γέγονεν ἐπ᾽ ἐμῷ στεναγμῷ (lxx) Job 23:2 [Nunc quoque in amaritudine est sermo meus, et manus plagæ meæ aggravata est super gemitum meum.(vulgate) Job 23:2 Meine Rede bleibt noch betrübt; meine Macht ist schwach über meinem Seufzen.(dhs) Job 23:2 "Even today my complaint is bitter; My hand is listless because of my groaning.(nkjv) ======= Job 23:3 ============ Job 23:3 "Oh that I knew where I might find Him, That I might come to His seat!(nasb) Job 23:3 τίς δ᾽ ἄρα γνοίη ὅτι εὕροιμι αὐτὸν καὶ ἔλθοιμι εἰς τέλος (lxx) Job 23:3 Quis mihi tribuat ut cognoscam et inveniam illum, et veniam usque ad solium ejus?(vulgate) Job 23:3 Ach daß ich wüßte, wie ich ihn finden und zu seinem Stuhl kommen möchte(dhs) Job 23:3 Oh, that I knew where I might find Him, That I might come to His seat!(nkjv) ======= Job 23:4 ============ Job 23:4 "I would present my case before Him And fill my mouth with arguments.(nasb) Job 23:4 εἴποιμι δὲ ἐμαυτοῦ κρίμα τὸ δὲ στόμα μου ἐμπλήσαιμι ἐλέγχων (lxx) Job 23:4 Ponam coram eo judicium, et os meum replebo increpationibus:(vulgate) Job 23:4 und das Recht vor ihm sollte vorlegen und den Mund voll Verantwortung fassen(dhs) Job 23:4 I would present my case before Him, And fill my mouth with arguments(nkjv) ======= Job 23:5 ============ Job 23:5 "I would learn the words which He would answer, And perceive what He would say to me.(nasb) Job 23:5 γνῴην δὲ ῥήματα ἅ μοι ἐρεῖ αἰσθοίμην δὲ τίνα μοι ἀπαγγελεῖ (lxx) Job 23:5 ut sciam verba quæ mihi respondeat, et intelligam quid loquatur mihi.(vulgate) Job 23:5 und erfahren die Reden, die er mir antworten, und vernehmen, was er mir sagen würde!(dhs) Job 23:5 I would know the words which He would answer me, And understand what He would say to me.(nkjv) ======= Job 23:6 ============ Job 23:6 "Would He contend with me by the greatness of His power? No, surely He would pay attention to me.(nasb) Job 23:6 καὶ εἰ ἐν πολλῇ ἰσχύι ἐπελεύσεταί μοι εἶτα ἐν ἀπειλῇ μοι οὐ χρήσεται (lxx) Job 23:6 Nolo multa fortitudine contendat mecum, nec magnitudinis suæ mole me premat.(vulgate) Job 23:6 Will er mit großer Macht mit mir rechten? Er stelle sich nicht so gegen mich,(dhs) Job 23:6 Would He contend with me in His great power? No! But He would take note of me.(nkjv) ======= Job 23:7 ============ Job 23:7 "There the upright would reason with Him; And I would be delivered forever from my Judge.(nasb) Job 23:7 ἀλήθεια γὰρ καὶ ἔλεγχος παρ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἐξαγάγοι δὲ εἰς τέλος τὸ κρίμα μου (lxx) Job 23:7 Proponat æquitatem contra me, et perveniat ad victoriam judicium meum.(vulgate) Job 23:7 sondern lege mir's gleich vor, so will ich mein Recht wohl gewinnen.(dhs) Job 23:7 There the upright could reason with Him, And I would be delivered forever from my Judge.(nkjv) ======= Job 23:8 ============ Job 23:8 "Behold, I go forward but He is not there, And backward, but I cannot perceive Him;(nasb) Job 23:8 εἰς γὰρ πρῶτα πορεύσομαι καὶ οὐκέτι εἰμί τὰ δὲ ἐπ᾽ ἐσχάτοις τί οἶδα (lxx) Job 23:8 Si ad orientem iero, non apparet; si ad occidentem, non intelligam eum.(vulgate) Job 23:8 Aber ich gehe nun stracks vor mich, so ist er nicht da; gehe ich zurück, so spüre ich ihn nicht;(dhs) Job 23:8 "Look, I go forward, but He is not there, And backward, but I cannot perceive Him;(nkjv) ======= Job 23:9 ============ Job 23:9 When He acts on the left, I cannot behold Him; He turns on the right, I cannot see Him.(nasb) Job 23:9 ἀριστερὰ ποιήσαντος αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐ κατέσχον περιβαλεῖ δεξιά καὶ οὐκ ὄψομαι (lxx) Job 23:9 Si ad sinistram, quid agam? non apprehendam eum; si me vertam ad dexteram, non videbo illum.(vulgate) Job 23:9 ist er zur Linken, so schaue ich ihn nicht; verbirgt er sich zur Rechten, so sehe ich ihn nicht.(dhs) Job 23:9 When He works on the left hand, I cannot behold Him; When He turns to the right hand, I cannot see Him.(nkjv) ======= Job 23:10 ============ Job 23:10 "But He knows the way I take; When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.(nasb) Job 23:10 οἶδεν γὰρ ἤδη ὁδόν μου διέκρινεν δέ με ὥσπερ τὸ χρυσίον (lxx) Job 23:10 Ipse vero scit viam meam, et probavit me quasi aurum quod per ignem transit.(vulgate) Job 23:10 Er aber kennt meinen Weg wohl. Er versuche mich, so will ich erfunden werden wie das Gold.(dhs) Job 23:10 But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.(nkjv) ======= Job 23:11 ============ Job 23:11 "My foot has held fast to His path; I have kept His way and not turned aside.(nasb) Job 23:11 ἐξελεύσομαι δὲ ἐν ἐντάλμασιν αὐτοῦ ὁδοὺς γὰρ αὐτοῦ ἐφύλαξα καὶ οὐ μὴ ἐκκλίνω (lxx) Job 23:11 Vestigia ejus secutus est pes meus: viam ejus custodivi, et non declinavi ex ea.(vulgate) Job 23:11 Denn ich setze meinen Fuß auf seine Bahn und halte seinen Weg und weiche nicht ab(dhs) Job 23:11 My foot has held fast to His steps; I have kept His way and not turned aside.(nkjv) ======= Job 23:12 ============ Job 23:12 "I have not departed from the command of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.(nasb) Job 23:12 ἀπὸ ἐνταλμάτων αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐ μὴ παρέλθω ἐν δὲ κόλπῳ μου ἔκρυψα ῥήματα αὐτοῦ (lxx) Job 23:12 A mandatis labiorum ejus non recessi, et in sinu meo abscondi verba oris ejus.(vulgate) Job 23:12 und trete nicht von dem Gebot seiner Lippen und bewahre die Rede seines Mundes mehr denn mein eigen Gesetz.(dhs) Job 23:12 I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth More than my necessary food.(nkjv) ======= Job 23:13 ============ Job 23:13 "But He is unique and who can turn Him? And what His soul desires, that He does.(nasb) Job 23:13 εἰ δὲ καὶ αὐτὸς ἔκρινεν οὕτως τίς ἐστιν ὁ ἀντειπὼν αὐτῷ ὃ γὰρ αὐτὸς ἠθέλησεν καὶ ἐποίησεν (lxx) Job 23:13 Ipse enim solus est, et nemo avertere potest cogitationem ejus: et anima ejus quodcumque voluit, hoc fecit.(vulgate) Job 23:13 Doch er ist einig; wer will ihm wehren? Und er macht's wie er will.(dhs) Job 23:13 "But He is unique, and who can make Him change? And whatever His soul desires, that He does.(nkjv) ======= Job 23:14 ============ Job 23:14 "For He performs what is appointed for me, And many such decrees are with Him.(nasb) Job 23:14 Lxx differs (lxx) Job 23:14 Cum expleverit in me voluntatem suam, et alia multa similia præsto sunt ei.(vulgate) Job 23:14 Denn er wird vollführen, was mir bestimmt ist, und hat noch viel dergleichen im Sinne.(dhs) Job 23:14 For He performs what is appointed for me, And many such things are with Him(nkjv) ======= Job 23:15 ============ Job 23:15 "Therefore, I would be dismayed at His presence; When I consider, I am terrified of Him.(nasb) Job 23:15 διὰ τοῦτο ἐπ᾽ αὐτῷ ἐσπούδακα νουθετούμενος δὲ ἐφρόντισα αὐτοῦ Job 23:15 Et idcirco a facie ejus turbatus sum, et considerans eum, timore sollicitor.(vulgate) Job 23:15 Darum erschrecke ich vor ihm; und wenn ich's bedenke, so fürchte ich mich vor ihm.(dhs) Job 23:15 Therefore I am terrified at His presence; When I consider this, I am afraid of Him.(nkjv) ======= Job 23:16 ============ Job 23:16 "It is God who has made my heart faint, And the Almighty who has dismayed me,(nasb) Job 23:16 κύριος δὲ ἐμαλάκυνεν τὴν καρδίαν μου ὁ δὲ παντοκράτωρ ἐσπούδασέν με (lxx) Job 23:16 Deus mollivit cor meum, et Omnipotens conturbavit me.(vulgate) Job 23:16 Gott hat mein Herz blöde gemacht, und der Allmächtige hat mich erschreckt.(dhs) Job 23:16 For God made my heart weak, And the Almighty terrifies me;(nkjv) ======= Job 23:17 ============ Job 23:17 But I am not silenced by the darkness, Nor deep gloom which covers me.(nasb) Job 23:17 οὐ γὰρ ᾔδειν ὅτι ἐπελεύσεταί μοι σκότος πρὸ προσώπου δέ μου ἐκάλυψεν γνόφος (lxx) Job 23:17 Non enim perii propter imminentes tenebras, nec faciem meam operuit caligo.](vulgate) Job 23:17 Denn die Finsternis macht kein Ende mit mir, und das Dunkel will vor mir nicht verdeckt werden.(dhs) Job 23:17 Because I was not cut off from the presence of darkness, And He did not hide deep darkness from my face.(nkjv) ======= Job 24:1 ============ top of the page
