Today's Date: ======= Psalm 129:1 ============ Psa 129:1 "Many times they have persecuted me from my youth up," Let Israel now say,(nas) Psa 129:1 ᾠδὴ τῶν ἀναβαθμῶν πλεονάκις ἐπολέμησάν με ἐκ νεότητός μου εἰπάτω δὴ Ισραηλ (lxx) Psa 129:1 [Vulgate 128:1] canticum graduum saepe expugnaverunt me ab adulescentia mea dicat nunc Israhel(vulgate) 1 ׃129 שִׁ֗יר הַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת רַ֭בַּת צְרָר֣וּנִי מִנְּעוּרַ֑י יֹֽאמַר־נָ֝א יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Psalms Psa 129:1 (Ein Lied im höhern Chor.) Sie haben mich oft gedrängt von meiner Jugend auf, so sage Israel,(dhs) Psa 129:1 A Song of Ascents. "Many a time they have afflicted me from my youth," Let Israel now say--(nkjv) ======= Psalm 129:2 ============ Psa 129:2 "Many times they have persecuted me from my youth up; Yet they have not prevailed against me.(nas) Psa 129:2 πλεονάκις ἐπολέμησάν με ἐκ νεότητός μου καὶ γὰρ οὐκ ἠδυνήθησάν μοι (lxx) Psa 129:2 [Vulgate 128:2] saepe expugnaverunt me ab adulescentia mea sed non potuerunt mihi(vulgate) 2 ׃129 רַ֭בַּת צְרָר֣וּנִי מִנְּעוּרָ֑י גַּ֝ם לֹא־יָ֥כְלוּ לִֽי׃ Psalms Psa 129:2 sie haben mich oft gedrängt von meiner Jugend auf; aber sie haben mich nicht übermocht.(dhs) Psa 129:2 "Many a time they have afflicted me from my youth; Yet they have not prevailed against me.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 129:3 ============ Psa 129:3 "The plowers plowed upon my back; They lengthened their furrows."(nas) Psa 129:3 ἐπὶ τοῦ νώτου μου ἐτέκταινον οἱ ἁμαρτωλοί ἐμάκρυναν τὴν ἀνομίαν αὐτῶν (lxx) Psa 129:3 [Vulgate 128:3] super cervicem meam arabant arantes prolongaverunt sulcum suum(vulgate) 3 ׃129 עַל־גַּ֭בִּי חָרְשׁ֣וּ חֹרְשִׁ֑ים הֶ֝אֱרִ֗יכוּ *למענותם **לְמַעֲנִיתָֽם׃ Psalms Psa 129:3 Die Pflüger haben auf meinen Rücken geackert und ihre Furchen lang gezogen.(dhs) Psa 129:3 The plowers plowed on my back; They made their furrows long."(nkjv) ======= Psalm 129:4 ============ Psa 129:4 The Lord is righteous; He has cut in two the cords of the wicked.(nas) Psa 129:4 κύριος δίκαιος συνέκοψεν αὐχένας ἁμαρτωλῶν (lxx) Psa 129:4 [Vulgate 128:4] Dominus iustus concidet laqueos impiorum(vulgate) 4 ׃129 יְהוָ֥ה צַדִּ֑יק קִ֝צֵּ֗ץ עֲב֣וֹת רְשָׁעִֽים׃ Psalms Psa 129:4 Der HERR, der gerecht ist, hat der Gottlosen Seile abgehauen.(dhs) Psa 129:4 The Lord is righteous; He has cut in pieces the cords of the wicked.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 129:5 ============ Psa 129:5 May all who hate Zion Be put to shame and turned backward;(nas) Psa 129:5 αἰσχυνθήτωσαν καὶ ἀποστραφήτωσαν εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω πάντες οἱ μισοῦντες Σιων (lxx) Psa 129:5 [Vulgate 128:5] confundantur et revertantur retrorsum omnes qui oderunt Sion(vulgate) 5 ׃129 יֵ֭בֹשׁוּ וְיִסֹּ֣גוּ אָח֑וֹר כֹּ֝֗ל שֹׂנְאֵ֥י צִיּֽוֹן׃ Psalms Psa 129:5 Ach daß müßten zu Schanden werden und zurückkehren alle, die Zion gram sind!(dhs) Psa 129:5 Let all those who hate Zion Be put to shame and turned back.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 129:6 ============ Psa 129:6 Let them be like grass upon the housetops, Which withers before it grows up;(nas) Psa 129:6 γενηθήτωσαν ὡς χόρτος δωμάτων ὃς πρὸ τοῦ ἐκσπασθῆναι ἐξηράνθη (lxx) Psa 129:6 [Vulgate 128:6] fiant sicut faenum tectorum quod statim ut viruerit arescet(vulgate) 6 ׃129 יִ֭הְיוּ כַּחֲצִ֣יר גַּגּ֑וֹת שֶׁקַּדְמַ֖ת שָׁלַ֣ף יָבֵֽשׁ׃ Psalms Psa 129:6 Ach daß sie müßten sein wie das Gras auf den Dächern, welches verdorrt, ehe man es ausrauft,(dhs) Psa 129:6 Let them be as the grass on the housetops, Which withers before it grows up,(nkjv) ======= Psalm 129:7 ============ Psa 129:7 With which the reaper does not fill his hand, Or the binder of sheaves his bosom;(nas) Psa 129:7 οὗ οὐκ ἐπλήρωσεν τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ὁ θερίζων καὶ τὸν κόλπον αὐτοῦ ὁ τὰ δράγματα συλλέγων (lxx) Psa 129:7 [Vulgate 128:7] de quo non implebit manum suam messor et sinum suum manipulos faciens(vulgate) 7 ׃129 שֶׁלֹּ֤א מִלֵּ֖א כַפּ֥וֹ קוֹצֵ֗ר וְחִצְנ֥וֹ מְעַמֵּֽר׃ Psalms Psa 129:7 von welchem der Schnitter seine Hand nicht füllt noch der Garbenbinder seinen Arm(dhs) Psa 129:7 With which the reaper does not fill his hand, Nor he who binds sheaves, his arms.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 129:8 ============ Psa 129:8 Nor do those who pass by say, "The blessing of the Lord be upon you; We bless you in the name of the Lord."(nas) Psa 129:8 καὶ οὐκ εἶπαν οἱ παράγοντες εὐλογία κυρίου ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς εὐλογήκαμεν ὑμᾶς ἐν ὀνόματι κυρίου (lxx) Psa 129:8 [Vulgate 128:8] de quo non dixerunt transeuntes benedictio Domini super vos benediximus vobis in nomine Domini(vulgate) 8 ׃129 וְלֹ֤א אָֽמְר֨וּ ׀ הָעֹבְרִ֗ים בִּרְכַּֽת־יְהוָ֥ה אֲלֵיכֶ֑ם בֵּרַ֥כְנוּ אֶ֝תְכֶ֗ם בְּשֵׁ֣ם יְהוָֽה׃ Psalms Psa 129:8 und die vorübergehen nicht sprechen: "Der Segen des HERRN sei über euch! wir segnen euch im Namen des HERRN"!(dhs) Psa 129:8 Neither let those who pass by them say, "The blessing of the Lord be upon you; We bless you in the name of the Lord!"(nkjv) ======= Psalm 130:1 ============ top of the page
