Today's Date: ======= Proverbs 24:1 ============ Pro 24:1 Do not be envious of evil men, Nor desire to be with them;(nas) Pro 24:1 υἱέ μὴ ζηλώσῃς κακοὺς ἄνδρας μηδὲ ἐπιθυμήσῃς εἶναι μετ᾽ αὐτῶν (lxx) Pro 24:1 [Ne æmuleris viros malos, nec desideres esse cum eis:(vulgate) 1 ׃24 אַל־תְּ֭קַנֵּא בְּאַנְשֵׁ֣י רָעָ֑ה וְאַל־*תתאו **תִּ֝תְאָ֗יו לִהְי֥וֹת אִתָּֽם׃ Proverbs Pro 24:1 Folge nicht bösen Leuten und wünsche nicht, bei ihnen zu sein;(dhs) Pro 24:1 Do not be envious of evil men, Nor desire to be with them;(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:2 ============ Pro 24:2 For their minds devise violence, And their lips talk of trouble.(nas) Pro 24:2 ψεύδη γὰρ μελετᾷ ἡ καρδία αὐτῶν καὶ πόνους τὰ χείλη αὐτῶν λαλεῖ (lxx) Pro 24:2 quia rapinas meditatur mens eorum, et fraudes labia eorum loquuntur.(vulgate) 2 ׃24 כִּי־שֹׁ֭ד יֶהְגֶּ֣ה לִבָּ֑ם וְ֝עָמָ֗ל שִׂפְתֵיהֶ֥ם תְּדַבֵּֽרְנָה׃ Proverbs Pro 24:2 denn ihr Herz trachte nach Schaden, und ihre Lippen raten zu Unglück.(dhs) Pro 24:2 For their heart devises violence, And their lips talk of troublemaking.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:3 ============ Pro 24:3 By wisdom a house is built, And by understanding it is established;(nas) Pro 24:3 μετὰ σοφίας οἰκοδομεῖται οἶκος καὶ μετὰ συνέσεως ἀνορθοῦται (lxx) Pro 24:3 Sapientia ædificabitur domus, et prudentia roborabitur.(vulgate) 3 ׃24 בְּ֭חָכְמָה יִבָּ֣נֶה בָּ֑יִת וּ֝בִתְבוּנָ֗ה יִתְכּוֹנָֽן׃ Proverbs Pro 24:3 Durch Weisheit wird ein Haus gebaut und durch Verstand erhalten.(dhs) Pro 24:3 Through wisdom a house is built, And by understanding it is established;(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:4 ============ Pro 24:4 And by knowledge the rooms are filled With all precious and pleasant riches.(nas) Pro 24:4 μετὰ αἰσθήσεως ἐμπίμπλαται ταμίεια ἐκ παντὸς πλούτου τιμίου καὶ καλοῦ (lxx) Pro 24:4 In doctrina replebuntur cellaria, universa substantia pretiosa et pulcherrima.(vulgate) 4 ׃24 וּ֭בְדַעַת חֲדָרִ֣ים יִמָּלְא֑וּ כָּל־ה֖וֹן יָקָ֣ר וְנָעִֽים׃ Proverbs Pro 24:4 Durch ordentliches Haushalten werden die Kammern voll aller köstlichen, lieblichen Reichtümer.(dhs) Pro 24:4 By knowledge the rooms are filled With all precious and pleasant riches.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:5 ============ Pro 24:5 A wise man is strong, And a man of knowledge increases power.(nas) Pro 24:5 κρείσσων σοφὸς ἰσχυροῦ καὶ ἀνὴρ φρόνησιν ἔχων γεωργίου μεγάλου (lxx) Pro 24:5 Vir sapiens fortis est, et vir doctus robustus et validus:(vulgate) 5 ׃24 גֶּֽבֶר־חָכָ֥ם בַּע֑וֹז וְאִֽישׁ־דַּ֝֗עַת מְאַמֶּץ־כֹּֽחַ׃ Proverbs Pro 24:5 Ein weiser Mann ist stark, und ein vernünftiger Mann ist mächtig von Kräften.(dhs) Pro 24:5 A wise man is strong, Yes, a man of knowledge increases strength;(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:6 ============ Pro 24:6 For by wise guidance you will wage war, And in abundance of counselors there is victory.(nas) Pro 24:6 μετὰ κυβερνήσεως γίνεται πόλεμος βοήθεια δὲ μετὰ καρδίας βουλευτικῆς (lxx) Pro 24:6 quia cum dispositione initur bellum, et erit salus ubi multa consilia sunt.(vulgate) 6 ׃24 כִּ֣י בְ֭תַחְבֻּלוֹת תַּעֲשֶׂה־לְּךָ֣ מִלְחָמָ֑ה וּ֝תְשׁוּעָ֗ה בְּרֹ֣ב יוֹעֵֽץ׃ Proverbs Pro 24:6 Denn mit Rat muß man Krieg führen; und wo viele Ratgeber sind, da ist der Sieg.(dhs) Pro 24:6 For by wise counsel you will wage your own war, And in a multitude of counselors there is safety.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:7 ============ Pro 24:7 Wisdom is too exalted for a fool, He does not open his mouth in the gate.(nas) Pro 24:7 σοφία καὶ ἔννοια ἀγαθὴ ἐν πύλαις σοφῶν σοφοὶ οὐκ ἐκκλίνουσιν ἐκ στόματος κυρίου (lxx) Pro 24:7 Excelsa stulto sapientia; in porta non aperiet os suum.(vulgate) 7 ׃24 רָאמ֣וֹת לֶֽאֱוִ֣יל חָכְמ֑וֹת בַּ֝שַּׁ֗עַר לֹ֣א יִפְתַּח־פִּֽיהוּ׃ Proverbs Pro 24:7 Weisheit ist dem Narren zu hoch; er darf seinen Mund im Tor nicht auftun.(dhs) Pro 24:7 Wisdom is too lofty for a fool; He does not open his mouth in the gate.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:8 ============ Pro 24:8 One who plans to do evil, Men will call a schemer.(nas) Pro 24:8 ἀλλὰ λογίζονται ἐν συνεδρίοις ἀπαιδεύτοις συναντᾷ θάνατος (lxx) Pro 24:8 Qui cogitat mala facere stultus vocabitur:(vulgate) 8 ׃24 מְחַשֵּׁ֥ב לְהָרֵ֑עַ ל֝֗וֹ בַּֽעַל־מְזִמּ֥וֹת יִקְרָֽאוּ׃ Proverbs Pro 24:8 Wer sich vornimmt, Böses zu tun, den heißt man billig einen Erzbösewicht.(dhs) Pro 24:8 He who plots to do evil Will be called a schemer.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:9 ============ Pro 24:9 The devising of folly is sin, And the scoffer is an abomination to men.(nas) Pro 24:9 ἀποθνῄσκει δὲ ἄφρων ἐν ἁμαρτίαις ἀκαθαρσία δὲ ἀνδρὶ λοιμῷ ἐμμολυνθήσεται (lxx) Pro 24:9 cogitatio stulti peccatum est, et abominatio hominum detractor.(vulgate) 9 ׃24 זִמַּ֣ת אִוֶּ֣לֶת חַטָּ֑את וְתוֹעֲבַ֖ת לְאָדָ֣ם לֵֽץ׃ Proverbs Pro 24:9 Des Narren Tücke ist Sünde, und der Spötter ist ein Greuel vor den Leuten.(dhs) Pro 24:9 The devising of foolishness is sin, And the scoffer is an abomination to men.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:10 ============ Pro 24:10 If you are slack in the day of distress, Your strength is limited.(nas) Pro 24:10 ἐν ἡμέρᾳ κακῇ καὶ ἐν ἡμέρᾳ θλίψεως ἕως ἂν ἐκλίπῃ (lxx) Pro 24:10 Si desperaveris lassus in die angustiæ, imminuetur fortitudo tua.]~(vulgate) 10 ׃24 הִ֭תְרַפִּיתָ בְּי֥וֹם צָרָ֗ה צַ֣ר כֹּחֶֽכָה׃ Proverbs Pro 24:10 Der ist nicht stark, der in der Not nicht fest ist.(dhs) Pro 24:10 If you faint in the day of adversity, Your strength is small.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:11 ============ Pro 24:11 Deliver those who are being taken away to death, And those who are staggering to slaughter, Oh hold them back.(nas) Pro 24:11 ῥῦσαι ἀγομένους εἰς θάνατον καὶ ἐκπρίου κτεινομένους μὴ φείσῃ (lxx) Pro 24:11 [Erue eos qui ducuntur ad mortem, et qui trahuntur ad interitum, liberare ne cesses.(vulgate) 11 ׃24 הַ֭צֵּל לְקֻחִ֣ים לַמָּ֑וֶת וּמָטִ֥ים לַ֝הֶ֗רֶג אִם־תַּחְשֽׂוֹךְ׃ Proverbs Pro 24:11 Errette die, so man töten will; und entzieh dich nicht von denen, die man würgen will.(dhs) Pro 24:11 Deliver those who are drawn toward death, And hold back those stumbling to the slaughter.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:12 ============ Pro 24:12 If you say, "See, we did not know this," Does He not consider it who weighs the hearts? And does He not know it who keeps your soul? And will He not render to man according to his work?(nas) Pro 24:12 ἐὰν δὲ εἴπῃς οὐκ οἶδα τοῦτον γίνωσκε ὅτι κύριος καρδίας πάντων γινώσκει καὶ ὁ πλάσας πνοὴν πᾶσιν αὐτὸς οἶδεν πάντα ὃς ἀποδίδωσιν ἑκάστῳ κατὰ τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ (lxx) Pro 24:12 Si dixeris: Vires non suppetunt; qui inspector est cordis ipse intelligit: et servatorem animæ tuæ nihil fallit, reddetque homini juxta opera sua.(vulgate) 12 ׃24 כִּֽי־תֹאמַ֗ר הֵן֮ לֹא־יָדַ֢עְנ֫וּ זֶ֥ה הֲֽלֹא־תֹ֘כֵ֤ן לִבּ֨וֹת ׀ הֽוּא־יָבִ֗ין וְנֹצֵ֣ר נַ֭פְשְׁךָ ה֣וּא יֵדָ֑ע וְהֵשִׁ֖יב לְאָדָ֣ם כְּפָעֳלֽוֹ׃ Proverbs Pro 24:12 Sprichst du: "Siehe, wir verstehen's nicht!" meinst du nicht, der die Herzen wägt, merkt es, und der auf deine Seele achthat, kennt es und vergilt dem Menschen nach seinem Werk?(dhs) Pro 24:12 If you say, "Surely we did not know this," Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:13 ============ Pro 24:13 My son, eat honey, for it is good, Yes, the honey from the comb is sweet to your taste;(nas) Pro 24:13 φάγε μέλι υἱέ ἀγαθὸν γὰρ κηρίον ἵνα γλυκανθῇ σου ὁ φάρυγξ (lxx) Pro 24:13 Comede, fili mi, mel, quia bonum est, et favum dulcissimum gutturi tuo.(vulgate) 13 ׃24 אֱכָל־בְּנִ֣י דְבַ֣שׁ כִּי־ט֑וֹב וְנֹ֥פֶת מָ֝ת֗וֹק עַל־חִכֶּֽךָ׃ Proverbs Pro 24:13 Iß, mein Sohn, Honig, denn er ist gut, und Honigseim ist süß in deinem Halse.(dhs) Pro 24:13 My son, eat honey because it is good, And the honeycomb which is sweet to your taste;(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:14 ============ Pro 24:14 Know that wisdom is thus for your soul; If you find it, then there will be a future, And your hope will not be cut off.(nas) Pro 24:14 οὕτως αἰσθήσῃ σοφίαν τῇ σῇ ψυχῇ ἐὰν γὰρ εὕρῃς ἔσται καλὴ ἡ τελευτή σου καὶ ἐλπίς σε οὐκ ἐγκαταλείψει (lxx) Pro 24:14 Sic et doctrina sapientiæ animæ tuæ: quam cum inveneris, habebis in novissimis spem, et spes tua non peribit.(vulgate) 14 ׃24 כֵּ֤ן ׀ דְּעֶ֥ה חָכְמָ֗ה לְנַ֫פְשֶׁ֥ךָ אִם־מָ֭צָאתָ וְיֵ֣שׁ אַחֲרִ֑ית וְ֝תִקְוָתְךָ֗ לֹ֣א תִכָּרֵֽת׃ פ Proverbs Pro 24:14 Also lerne die Weisheit für deine Seele. Wo du sie findest, so wird's hernach wohl gehen, und deine Hoffnung wird nicht umsonst sein.(dhs) Pro 24:14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be to your soul; If you have found it, there is a prospect, And your hope will not be cut off.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:15 ============ Pro 24:15 Do not lie in wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; Do not destroy his resting place;(nas) Pro 24:15 μὴ προσαγάγῃς ἀσεβῆ νομῇ δικαίων μηδὲ ἀπατηθῇς χορτασίᾳ κοιλίας (lxx) Pro 24:15 Ne insidieris, et quæras impietatem in domo justi, neque vastes requiem ejus.(vulgate) 15 ׃24 אַל־תֶּאֱרֹ֣ב רָ֭שָׁע לִנְוֵ֣ה צַדִּ֑יק אַֽל־תְּשַׁדֵּ֥ד רִבְצוֹ׃ Proverbs Pro 24:15 Laure nicht als Gottloser auf das Haus des Gerechten; verstöre seine Ruhe nicht.(dhs) Pro 24:15 Do not lie in wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; Do not plunder his resting place;(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:16 ============ Pro 24:16 For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again, But the wicked stumble in time of calamity.(nas) Pro 24:16 ἑπτάκι γὰρ πεσεῖται ὁ δίκαιος καὶ ἀναστήσεται οἱ δὲ ἀσεβεῖς ἀσθενήσουσιν ἐν κακοῖς (lxx) Pro 24:16 Septies enim cadet justus, et resurget: impii autem corruent in malum.(vulgate) 16 ׃24 כִּ֤י שֶׁ֨בַע ׀ יִפּ֣וֹל צַדִּ֣יק וָקָ֑ם וּ֝רְשָׁעִ֗ים יִכָּשְׁל֥וּ בְרָעָֽה׃ Proverbs Pro 24:16 Denn ein Gerechter fällt siebenmal und steht wieder auf; aber die Gottlosen versinken im Unglück.(dhs) Pro 24:16 For a righteous man may fall seven times And rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:17 ============ Pro 24:17 Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles;(nas) Pro 24:17 ἐὰν πέσῃ ὁ ἐχθρός σου μὴ ἐπιχαρῇς αὐτῷ ἐν δὲ τῷ ὑποσκελίσματι αὐτοῦ μὴ ἐπαίρου (lxx) Pro 24:17 Cum ceciderit inimicus tuus ne gaudeas, et in ruina ejus ne exsultet cor tuum:(vulgate) 17 ׃24 בִּנְפֹ֣ל *אויביך **אֽ֭וֹיִבְךָ אַל־תִּשְׂמָ֑ח וּ֝בִכָּשְׁל֗וֹ אַל־יָגֵ֥ל לִבֶּֽךָ׃ Proverbs Pro 24:17 Freue dich des Falles deines Feindes nicht, und dein Herz sei nicht froh über seinem Unglück;(dhs) Pro 24:17 Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles;(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:18 ============ Pro 24:18 Or the Lord will see it and be displeased, And turn His anger away from him.(nas) Pro 24:18 ὅτι ὄψεται κύριος καὶ οὐκ ἀρέσει αὐτῷ καὶ ἀποστρέψει τὸν θυμὸν αὐτοῦ ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ (lxx) Pro 24:18 ne forte videat Dominus, et displiceat ei, et auferat ab eo iram suam.(vulgate) 18 ׃24 פֶּן־יִרְאֶ֣ה יְ֭הוָה וְרַ֣ע בְּעֵינָ֑יו וְהֵשִׁ֖יב מֵעָלָ֣יו אַפּֽוֹ׃ Proverbs Pro 24:18 der HERR möchte es sehen, und es möchte ihm übel gefallen und er seine Zorn von ihm wenden.(dhs) Pro 24:18 Lest the Lord see it, and it displease Him, And He turn away His wrath from him.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:19 ============ Pro 24:19 Do not fret because of evildoers Or be envious of the wicked;(nas) Pro 24:19 μὴ χαῖρε ἐπὶ κακοποιοῖς μηδὲ ζήλου ἁμαρτωλούς (lxx) Pro 24:19 Ne contendas cum pessimis, nec æmuleris impios:(vulgate) 19 ׃24 אַל־תִּתְחַ֥ר בַּמְּרֵעִ֑ים אַל־תְּ֝קַנֵּ֗א בָּרְשָׁעִֽים׃ Proverbs Pro 24:19 Erzürne dich nicht über die Bösen und eifere nicht über die Gottlosen.(dhs) Pro 24:19 Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the wicked;(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:20 ============ Pro 24:20 For there will be no future for the evil man; The lamp of the wicked will be put out.(nas) Pro 24:20 οὐ γὰρ μὴ γένηται ἔκγονα πονηρῶν λαμπτὴρ δὲ ἀσεβῶν σβεσθήσεται (lxx) Pro 24:20 quoniam non habent futurorum spem mali, et lucerna impiorum extinguetur.(vulgate) 20 ׃24 כִּ֤י ׀ לֹֽא־תִהְיֶ֣ה אַחֲרִ֣ית לָרָ֑ע נֵ֖ר רְשָׁעִ֣ים יִדְעָֽךְ׃ Proverbs Pro 24:20 Denn der Böse hat nichts zu hoffen, und die Leuchte der Gottlosen wird verlöschen.(dhs) Pro 24:20 For there will be no prospect for the evil man; The lamp of the wicked will be put out.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:21 ============ Pro 24:21 My son, fear the Lord and the king; Do not associate with those who are given to change,(nas) Pro 24:21 φοβοῦ τὸν θεόν υἱέ καὶ βασιλέα καὶ μηθετέρῳ αὐτῶν ἀπειθήσῃς (lxx) Pro 24:21 Time Dominum, fili mi, et regem, et cum detractoribus non commiscearis:(vulgate) 21 ׃24 יְרָֽא־אֶת־יְהוָ֣ה בְּנִ֣י וָמֶ֑לֶךְ עִם־שׁ֝וֹנִ֗ים אַל־תִּתְעָרָֽב׃ Proverbs Pro 24:21 Mein Kind, fürchte den HERRN und den König und menge dich nicht unter die Aufrührer.(dhs) Pro 24:21 My son, fear the Lord and the king; Do not associate with those given to change;(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:22 ============ Pro 24:22 For their calamity will rise suddenly, And who knows the ruin that comes from both of them?(nas) Pro 24:22 ἐξαίφνης γὰρ τείσονται τοὺς ἀσεβεῖς τὰς δὲ τιμωρίας ἀμφοτέρων τίς γνώσεται Pro 24:22 quoniam repente consurget perditio eorum, et ruinam utriusque quis novit?]~(vulgate) 22 ׃24 כִּֽי־פִ֭תְאֹם יָק֣וּם אֵידָ֑ם וּפִ֥יד שְׁ֝נֵיהֶ֗ם מִ֣י יוֹדֵֽעַ׃ ס Proverbs Pro 24:22 Denn ihr Verderben wird plötzlich entstehen; und wer weiß, wann beider Unglück kommt?(dhs) Pro 24:22 For their calamity will rise suddenly, And who knows the ruin those two can bring?(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:23 ============ Pro 24:23 These also are sayings of the wise. To show partiality in judgment is not good.(nas) Pro 24:23 ταῦτα δὲ λέγω ὑμῖν τοῖς σοφοῖς ἐπιγινώσκειν αἰδεῖσθαι πρόσωπον ἐν κρίσει οὐ καλόν (lxx) Pro 24:23 Hæc quoque sapientibus. [Cognoscere personam in judicio non est bonum.(vulgate) 23 ׃24 גַּם־אֵ֥לֶּה לַֽחֲכָמִ֑ים הַֽכֵּר־פָּנִ֖ים בְּמִשְׁפָּ֣ט בַּל־טֽוֹב׃ Proverbs Pro 24:23 Dies sind auch Worte von Weisen. Die Person ansehen im Gericht ist nicht gut.(dhs) Pro 24:23 These things also belong to the wise: It is not good to show partiality in judgment.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:24 ============ Pro 24:24 He who says to the wicked, "You are righteous," Peoples will curse him, nations will abhor him;(nas) Pro 24:24 ὁ εἰπὼν τὸν ἀσεβῆ δίκαιός ἐστιν ἐπικατάρατος λαοῖς ἔσται καὶ μισητὸς εἰς ἔθνη (lxx) Pro 24:24 Qui dicunt impio: Justus es: maledicent eis populi, et detestabuntur eos tribus.(vulgate) 24 ׃24 אֹ֤מֵ֨ר ׀ לְרָשָׁע֮ צַדִּ֢יק אָ֥תָּה יִקְּבֻ֥הוּ עַמִּ֑ים יִזְעָמ֥וּהוּ לְאֻמִּֽים׃ Proverbs Pro 24:24 Wer zum Gottlosen spricht: "Du bist fromm", dem fluchen die Leute, und das Volk haßt ihn.(dhs) Pro 24:24 He who says to the wicked, "You are righteous," Him the people will curse; Nations will abhor him.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:25 ============ Pro 24:25 But to those who rebuke the wicked will be delight, And a good blessing will come upon them.(nas) Pro 24:25 οἱ δὲ ἐλέγχοντες βελτίους φανοῦνται ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς δὲ ἥξει εὐλογία ἀγαθή (lxx) Pro 24:25 Qui arguunt eum laudabuntur, et super ipsos veniet benedictio.(vulgate) 25 ׃24 וְלַמּוֹכִיחִ֥ים יִנְעָ֑ם וַֽ֝עֲלֵיהֶ֗ם תָּב֥וֹא בִרְכַּת־טֹֽוּב׃ Proverbs Pro 24:25 Welche aber strafen, die gefallen wohl, und kommt ein reicher Segen auf sie.(dhs) Pro 24:25 But those who rebuke the wicked will have delight, And a good blessing will come upon them.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:26 ============ Pro 24:26 He kisses the lips Who gives a right answer.(nas) Pro 24:26 χείλη δὲ φιλήσουσιν ἀποκρινόμενα λόγους ἀγαθούς (lxx) Pro 24:26 Labia deosculabitur qui recta verba respondet.(vulgate) 26 ׃24 שְׂפָתַ֥יִם יִשָּׁ֑ק מֵ֝שִׁ֗יב דְּבָרִ֥ים נְכֹחִֽים׃ Proverbs Pro 24:26 Eine richtige Antwort ist wie ein lieblicher Kuß.(dhs) Pro 24:26 He who gives a right answer kisses the lips.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 24:27 ============ Pro 24:27 Prepare your work outside And make it ready for yourself in the field;
