Today's Date: ======= 2 Corinthians 5:1 ============ 2Co 5:1 For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.(nas) 2Co 5:1 οἴδαμεν γὰρ ὅτι ἐὰν ἡ ἐπίγειος ἡμῶν οἰκία τοῦ σκήνους καταλυθῇ, οἰκοδομὴν ἐκ θεοῦ ἔχομεν οἰκίαν ἀχειροποίητον αἰώνιον ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς. (Nestle-Aland) 2Co 5:1 Scimus enim quoniam si terrestris domus nostra hujus habitationis dissolvatur, quod ædificationem ex Deo habemus, domum non manufactam, æternam in cælis.(vulgate) כִּי יָדַעְנוּ אִם יֵהָרֵס בֵּית חֹמֶר אֹהֶל נַפְשֵׁנוּ יֻתַּן לָנוּ בַּיִת מֵאֵת הָאֱלֹהִים אֲשֶׁר אֵינֶנּוּ בָנוּי בְּיָדַיִם כִּי בֵּית עוֹלָם הוּא בַּמָּרוֹם׃ א Corinthians2 2Co 5:1 Wir wissen aber, so unser irdisch Haus dieser Hütte zerbrochen wird, daß wir einen Bau haben, von Gott erbauet, ein Haus, nicht mit Händen gemacht, das ewig ist, im Himmel.(dhs) 2Co 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.(nkjv) ======= 2 Corinthians 5:2 ============ 2Co 5:2 For indeed in this house we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven,(nas) 2Co 5:2 καὶ γὰρ ἐν τούτῳ στενάζομεν, τὸ οἰκητήριον ἡμῶν τὸ ἐξ οὐρανοῦ ἐπενδύσασθαι ἐπιποθοῦντες, (Nestle-Aland) 2Co 5:2 Nam et in hoc ingemiscimus, habitationem nostram, quæ de cælo est, superindui cupientes:(vulgate) כִּי פֹה בְּבָתֵּי הַנֶּפֶשׁ נֶאֱנָחִים אֲנָחְנוּ וְשֹׁאֲפִים לְהִתְלוֹנֵן בְּצֵל הַמָּעוֹן הָעֶלְיוֹן׃ ב Corinthians2 2Co 5:2 Und darüber sehnen wir uns auch nach unsrer Behausung, die vom Himmel ist, und uns verlangt, daß wir damit überkleidet werden;(dhs) 2Co 5:2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven,(nkjv) ======= 2 Corinthians 5:3 ============ 2Co 5:3 inasmuch as we, having put it on, will not be found naked.(nas) 2Co 5:3 εἴ γε καὶ ἐνδυσάμενοι οὐ γυμνοὶ εὑρεθησόμεθα. (Nestle-Aland) 2Co 5:3 si tamen vestiti, non nudi inveniamur.(vulgate) וְאִם נִתְלוֹנֵן שָׁם לֹא נִהְיֶה עוֹד כְּעֵירֻמִּם מִבְּלִי מַחְסֶה׃ ג Corinthians2 2Co 5:3 so doch, wo wir bekleidet und nicht bloß erfunden werden.(dhs) 2Co 5:3 if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked.(nkjv) ======= 2 Corinthians 5:4 ============ 2Co 5:4 For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life.(nas) 2Co 5:4 καὶ γὰρ οἱ ὄντες ἐν τῶ σκήνει στενάζομεν βαρούμενοι, ἐφ᾽ ᾧ οὐ θέλομεν ἐκδύσασθαι ἀλλ᾽ ἐπενδύσασθαι, ἵνα καταποθῇ τὸ θνητὸν ὑπὸ τῆς ζωῆς. (Nestle-Aland) 2Co 5:4 Nam et qui sumus in hoc tabernaculo, ingemiscimus gravati: eo quod nolumus expoliari, sed supervestiri, ut absorbeatur quod mortale est, a vita.(vulgate) כִּי כָל־עוֹד נִתְגּוֹרֵר פֹּה בְּבָתֵּי הַנֶּפֶשׁ אֲנַחְנוּ מְסֻבָּלִים וְנֶאֱנָקִים וְלֹא לַחֲלִיפַת חֲלִיצָתֵנוּ אֲנַחְנוּ מִתְאַוִּים כִּי אִם־לִהְיוֹת מְלֻבָּשִׁים לְבַעֲבוּר יְבֻלַּע הַמָּוֶת בְּמוֹ־הַחַיִּים׃ ד Corinthians2 2Co 5:4 Denn dieweil wir in der Hütte sind, sehnen wir uns und sind beschwert; sintemal wir wollten lieber nicht entkleidet, sondern überkleidet werden, auf daß das Sterbliche würde verschlungen von dem Leben.(dhs) 2Co 5:4 For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life.(nkjv) ======= 2 Corinthians 5:5 ============ 2Co 5:5 Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge.(nas) 2Co 5:5 ὁ δὲ κατεργασάμενος ἡμᾶς εἰς αὐτὸ τοῦτο θεός, ὁ δοὺς ἡμῖν τὸν ἀρραβῶνα τοῦ πνεύματος. (Nestle-Aland) 2Co 5:9 Et ideo contendimus, sive absentes, sive præsentes, placere illi.(vulgate) עַל־כֵּן נִתְאַמֵּץ אִם־מִקָּרוֹב אוֹ־מֵרָחוֹק לִהְיוֹת לוֹ לְרָצוֹן׃ ט Corinthians2 2Co 5:9 Darum fleißigen wir uns auch, wir sind daheim oder wallen, daß wir ihm wohl gefallen.(dhs) 2Co 5:9 Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him.(nkjv) ======= 2 Corinthians 5:10 ============ 2Co 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.(nas) 2Co 5:10 τοὺς γὰρ πάντας ἡμᾶς φανερωθῆναι δεῖ ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ βήματος τοῦ χριστοῦ, ἵνα κομίσηται ἕκαστος τὰ διὰ τοῦ σώματος πρὸς ἃ ἔπραξεν, εἴτε ἀγαθὸν εἴτε φαῦλον. (Nestle-Aland) 2Co 5:10 Omnes enim non manifestari oportet ante tribunal Christi, ut referat unusquisque propria corporis, prout gessit, sive bonum, sive malum.~(vulgate) כִּי כֻלָּנוּ מִתְעַתְּדִים לַעֲמֹד לִפְנֵי כִסֵּא מִשְׁפַּט הַמָּשִׁיחַ לָקַחַת אִישׁ אִישׁ כְּמַעֲשֵׂהוּ אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה בְּעוֹדוֹ בִּבְשָׂרוֹ אִם־טוֹב וְאִם־רָע׃ י Corinthians2 2Co 5:10 Denn wir müssen alle offenbar werden vor dem Richtstuhl Christi, auf daß ein jeglicher empfange, nach dem er gehandelt hat bei Leibesleben, es sei gut oder böse.(dhs) 2Co 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.(nkjv) ======= 2 Corinthians 5:11 ============ 2Co 5:11 Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest to God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences.(nas) 2Co 5:11 εἰδότες οὗν τὸν φόβον τοῦ κυρίου ἀνθρώπους πείθομεν, θεῶ δὲ πεφανερώμεθα· ἐλπίζω δὲ καὶ ἐν ταῖς συνειδήσεσιν ὑμῶν πεφανερῶσθαι. (Nestle-Aland) 2Co 5:11 Scientes ergo timorem Domini, hominibus suademus, Deo autem manifesti sumus. Spero autem et in conscientiis vestris manifestos nos esse.(vulgate) וְאַחֲרֵי אֲשֶׁר יִרְאַת יְהוָֹה לְנֶגֶד עֵינֵינוּ נְפַתֶּה אֶת־בְּנֵי הָאָדָם לְיִרְאָה אֹתוֹ וּבְיִשְׁרַת לְבָבֵנוּ יְדֻעִים אֲנַחְנוּ לֵאלֹהִים אוֹחִילָה כִי כֵן יְדֻעִים אֲנַחְנוּ גַּם־לָכֶם׃ יא Corinthians2 2Co 5:11 Dieweil wir denn wissen, daß der HERR zu fürchten ist, fahren wir schön mit den Leuten; aber Gott sind wir offenbar. Ich hoffe aber, daß wir auch in eurem Gewissen offenbar sind.(dhs) 2Co 5:11 Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.(nkjv) ======= 2 Corinthians 5:12 ============ 2Co 5:12 We are not again commending ourselves to you but are giving you an occasion to be proud of us, so that you will have an answer for those who take pride in appearance and not in heart.(nas) 2Co 5:12 οὐ πάλιν ἑαυτοὺς συνιστάνομεν ὑμῖν, ἀλλὰ ἀφορμὴν διδόντες ὑμῖν καυχήματος ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν, ἵνα ἔχητε πρὸς τοὺς ἐν προσώπῳ καυχωμένους καὶ μὴ ἐν καρδίᾳ. (Nestle-Aland) 2Co 5:12 Non iterum commendamus nos vobis, sed occasionem damus vobis gloriandi pro nobis: ut habeatis ad eos qui in facie gloriantur, et non in corde.(vulgate) וְלֹא בָאנוּ בְזֹאת לְרוֹמֵם נַפְשֵׁנוּ לִפְנֵיכֶם עוֹד הַפָּעַם כִּי אִם־לָשִׂים לָכֶם יָדַיִם לְהִתְפָּאֵר בָּנוּ וְלָתֵת לָכֶם פִּתְחוֹן פֶּה נֶגֶד הַמִּתְפָּאֲרִים לָעֵינַיִם וְלַלֵּבָב אֵין מְאוּמָה׃ יב Corinthians2 2Co 5:12 Wir loben uns nicht abermals bei euch, sondern geben euch eine Ursache, zu rühmen von uns, auf daß ihr habt zu rühmen wider die, so sich nach dem Ansehen rühmen, und nicht nach dem Herzen.(dhs) 2Co 5:12 For we do not commend ourselves again to you, but give you opportunity to boast on our behalf, that you may have an answer for those who boast in appearance and not in heart.(nkjv) ======= 2 Corinthians 5:13 ============ 2Co 5:13 For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are of sound mind, it is for you.(nas) 2Co 5:13 εἴτε γὰρ ἐξέστημεν, θεῶ· εἴτε σωφρονοῦμεν, ὑμῖν. Et si cognovimus secundum carnem Christum, sed nunc jam non novimus.(vulgate) עַל־כֵּן מֵעַתָּה לֹא־נֵדַע עוֹד אִישׁ לְפִי בְשָׂרוֹ וְאַף הַמָּשִׁיחַ אִם־יְדַעֲנֻהוּ לְפִי בְּשָׂרוֹ לֹא־נֵדָעֵהוּ עוֹד עָתָּה׃ טז Corinthians2 2Co 5:16 Darum kennen wir von nun an niemand nach dem Fleisch; und ob wir auch Christum gekannt haben nach dem Fleisch, so kennen wir ihn doch jetzt nicht mehr.(dhs) 2Co 5:16 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.(nkjv) ======= 2 Corinthians 5:17 ============ 2Co 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.(nas) 2Co 5:17 ὥστε εἴ τις ἐν χριστῶ, καινὴ κτίσις· τὰ ἀρχαῖα παρῆλθεν, ἰδοὺ γέγονεν καινά· (Nestle-Aland) 2Co 5:17 Si qua ergo in Christo nova creatura, vetera transierunt: ecce facta sunt omnia nova.(vulgate) כִּי מִי לַמָּשִׁיחַ בְּרִיאָה חֲדָשָׁה הוּא קַדְמֹנִיּוֹת חָלְפוּ וְהִנֵּה הַכֹּל חָדָשׁ הוּא׃ יז Corinthians2 2Co 5:17 Darum, ist jemand in Christo, so ist er eine neue Kreatur; das Alte ist vergangen, siehe, es ist alles neu geworden!(dhs) 2Co 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.(nkjv) ======= 2 Corinthians 5:18 ============ 2Co 5:18 Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,(nas) 2Co 5:18 τὰ δὲ πάντα ἐκ τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ καταλλάξαντος ἡμᾶς ἑαυτῶ διὰ χριστοῦ καὶ δόντος ἡμῖν τὴν διακονίαν τῆς καταλλαγῆς, (Nestle-Aland) 2Co 5:18 Omnia autem ex Deo, qui nos reconciliavit sibi per Christum: et dedit nobis ministerium reconciliationis,(vulgate) וכָל־זֹאת מִיַּד אֱלֹהִים אֲשֶׁר נְתָנָנוּ לְהִתְרַצּוֹת אֵלָיו בַּמָּשִׁיחַ וַעֲבֹדַת הַסְּלִיחָה הַזֹּאת שָׂם עָלֵינוּ׃ יח Corinthians2 2Co 5:18 Aber das alles von Gott, der uns mit ihm selber versöhnt hat durch Jesum Christum und das Amt gegeben, das die Versöhnung predigt.(dhs) 2Co 5:18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,(nkjv) ======= 2 Corinthians 5:19 ============ 2Co 5:19 namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.(nas) 2Co 5:19 ὡς ὅτι θεὸς ἦν ἐν χριστῶ κόσμον καταλλάσσων ἑαυτῶ, μὴ λογιζόμενος αὐτοῖς τὰ παραπτώματα αὐτῶν, καὶ θέμενος ἐν ἡμῖν τὸν λόγον τῆς καταλλαγῆς. (Nestle-Aland) 2Co 5:19 quoniam quidem Deus erat in Christo mundum reconcilians sibi, non reputans illis delicta ipsorum, et posuit in nobis verbum reconciliationis.(vulgate) כִּי הֵן אֱלֹהִים הָיָה בְּיֵשׁוּעַ הַמָּשִׁיחַ לִסְלֹחַ לִבְנֵי הָעוֹלָם וְלֹא־לִזְכֹּר לָהֶם אֶת־חַטֹּאתֵיהֶם וְתוֹרַת הַסְּלִיחָה הַזֹּאת הִפְקִיד בְּיָדֵינוּ׃ יט Corinthians2 2Co 5:19 Denn Gott war in Christo und versöhnte die Welt mit ihm selber und rechnete ihnen ihre Sünden nicht zu und hat unter uns aufgerichtet das Wort von der Versöhnung.(dhs) 2Co 5:19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.(nkjv) ======= 2 Corinthians 5:20 ============ 2Co 5:20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.(nas) 2Co 5:20 ὑπὲρ χριστοῦ οὗν πρεσβεύομεν ὡς τοῦ θεοῦ παρακαλοῦντος δι᾽ ἡμῶν· δεόμεθα ὑπὲρ χριστοῦ, καταλλάγητε τῶ θεῶ.
