Today's Date: 4/8/2025 Job 34:37 For he adds rebellion to his sin; He claps his hands among us, And multiplies his words against God."(nkjv) ======= Job 35:1 ============ Job 35:1 Then Elihu continued and said,(nas) Job 35:1 ὑπολαβὼν δὲ Ελιους λέγει (lxx) Job 35:1 Igitur Eliu hæc rursum locutus est:(vulgate) 1 ׃35 וַיַּ֥עַן אֱלִיה֗וּ וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ Job Job 35:1 Und es hob an Elihu und sprach:(dhs) Job 35:1 Moreover Elihu answered and said:(nkjv) ======= Job 35:2 ============ Job 35:2 "Do you think this is according to justice? Do you say, 'My righteousness is more than God's'?(nas) Job 35:2 τί τοῦτο ἡγήσω ἐν κρίσει σὺ τίς εἶ ὅτι εἶπας δίκαιός εἰμι ἔναντι κυρίου (lxx) Job 35:2 [Numquid æqua tibi videtur tua cogitatio, ut diceres: Justior sum Deo?(vulgate) 2 ׃35 הֲ֭זֹאת חָשַׁ֣בְתָּ לְמִשְׁפָּ֑ט אָ֝מַ֗רְתָּ צִדְקִ֥י מֵאֵֽל׃ Job Job 35:2 Achtest du das für Recht, daß du sprichst: "Ich bin gerechter denn Gott"?(dhs) Job 35:2 "Do you think this is right? Do you say, 'My righteousness is more than God's'?(nkjv) ======= Job 35:3 ============ Job 35:3 "For you say, 'What advantage will it be to You? What profit will I have, more than if I had sinned?'(nas) Job 35:3 ἢ ἐρεῖς τί ποιήσω ἁμαρτών (lxx) Job 35:3 Dixisti enim: Non tibi placet quod rectum est: vel quid tibi proderit, si ego peccavero?(vulgate) 3 ׃35 כִּֽי־תֹ֭אמַר מַה־יִּסְכָּן־לָ֑ךְ מָֽה־אֹ֝עִ֗יל מֵֽחַטָּאתִֽי׃ Job Job 35:3 Denn du sprichst: "Wer gilt bei dir etwas? Was hilft es, ob ich nicht sündige?"(dhs) Job 35:3 For you say, 'What advantage will it be to You? What profit shall I have, more than if I had sinned?'(nkjv) ======= Job 35:4 ============ Job 35:4 "I will answer you, And your friends with you.(nas) Job 35:4 ἐγὼ σοὶ δώσω ἀπόκρισιν καὶ τοῖς τρισὶν φίλοις σου (lxx) Job 35:4 Itaque ego respondebo sermonibus tuis, et amicis tuis tecum.(vulgate) 4 ׃35 אֲ֭נִי אֲשִֽׁיבְךָ֣ מִלִּ֑ין וְֽאֶת־רֵעֶ֥יךָ עִמָּֽךְ׃ Job Job 35:4 Ich will dir antworten ein Wort und deinen Freunden mit dir.(dhs) Job 35:4 "I will answer you, And your companions with you.(nkjv) ======= Job 35:5 ============ Job 35:5 "Look at the heavens and see; And behold the clouds--they are higher than you.(nas) Job 35:5 ἀνάβλεψον εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ ἰδέ κατάμαθε δὲ νέφη ὡς ὑψηλὰ ἀπὸ σοῦ (lxx) Job 35:5 Suspice cælum, et intuere: et contemplare æthera quod altior te sit.(vulgate) 5 ׃35 הַבֵּ֣ט שָׁמַ֣יִם וּרְאֵ֑ה וְשׁ֥וּר שְׁ֝חָקִ֗ים גָּבְה֥וּ מִמֶּֽךָּ׃ Job Job 35:5 Schaue gen Himmel und siehe; und schau an die Wolken, daß sie dir zu hoch sind.(dhs) Job 35:5 Look to the heavens and see; And behold the clouds-- They are higher than you.(nkjv) ======= Job 35:6 ============ Job 35:6 "If you have sinned, what do you accomplish against Him? And if your transgressions are many, what do you do to Him?(nas) Job 35:6 εἰ ἥμαρτες τί πράξεις εἰ δὲ καὶ πολλὰ ἠνόμησας τί δύνασαι ποιῆσαι (lxx) Job 35:6 Si peccaveris, quid ei nocebis? et si multiplicatæ fuerint iniquitates tuæ, quid facies contra eum?(vulgate) 6 ׃35 אִם־חָ֭טָאתָ מַה־תִּפְעָל־בּ֑וֹ וְרַבּ֥וּ פְ֝שָׁעֶ֗יךָ מַה־תַּעֲשֶׂה־לּֽוֹ׃ Job Job 35:6 Sündigst du, was kannst du ihm Schaden? Und ob deiner Missetaten viel ist, was kannst du ihm tun?(dhs) Job 35:6 If you sin, what do you accomplish against Him? Or, if your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to Him?(nkjv) ======= Job 35:7 ============ Job 35:7 "If you are righteous, what do you give to Him, Or what does He receive from your hand?(nas) Job 35:7 ἐπεὶ δὲ οὖν δίκαιος εἶ τί δώσεις αὐτῷ ἢ τί ἐκ χειρός σου λήμψεται (lxx) Job 35:7 Porro si juste egeris, quid donabis ei? aut quid de manu tua accipiet?(vulgate) 7 ׃35 אִם־צָ֭דַקְתָּ מַה־תִּתֶּן־ל֑וֹ א֥וֹ מַה־מִיָּדְךָ֥ יִקָּֽח׃ Job Job 35:7 Und ob du gerecht seist, was kannst du ihm geben, oder was wird er von deinen Händen nehmen?(dhs) Job 35:7 If you are righteous, what do you give Him? Or what does He receive from your hand?(nkjv) ======= Job 35:8 ============ Job 35:8 "Your wickedness is for a man like yourself, And your righteousness is for a son of man.(nas) Job 35:8 ἀνδρὶ τῷ ὁμοίῳ σου ἡ ἀσέβειά σου καὶ υἱῷ ἀνθρώπου ἡ δικαιοσύνη σου (lxx) Job 35:8 Homini qui similis tui est, nocebit impietas tua: et filium hominis adjuvabit justitia tua.(vulgate) 8 ׃35 לְאִישׁ־כָּמ֥וֹךָ רִשְׁעֶ֑ךָ וּלְבֶן־אָ֝דָ֗ם צִדְקָתֶֽךָ׃ Job Job 35:8 Einem Menschen, wie du bist, mag wohl etwas tun deine Bosheit, und einem Menschenkind deine Gerechtigkeit.(dhs) Job 35:8 Your wickedness affects a man such as you, And your righteousness a son of man.(nkjv) ======= Job 35:9 ============ Job 35:9 "Because of the multitude of oppressions they cry out; They cry for help because of the arm of the mighty.(nas) Job 35:9 ἀπὸ πλήθους συκοφαντούμενοι κεκράξονται βοήσονται ἀπὸ βραχίονος πολλῶν (lxx) Job 35:9 Propter multitudinem calumniatorum clamabunt, et ejulabunt propter vim brachii tyrannorum.(vulgate) 9 ׃35 מֵ֭רֹב עֲשׁוּקִ֣ים יַזְעִ֑יקוּ יְשַׁוְּע֖וּ מִזְּר֣וֹעַ רַבִּֽים׃ Job Job 35:9 Man schreit, daß viel Gewalt geschieht, und ruft über den Arm der Großen;(dhs) Job 35:9 "Because of the multitude of oppressions they cry out; They cry out for help because of the arm of the mighty.(nkjv) ======= Job 35:10 ============ Job 35:10 "But no one says, 'Where is God my Maker, Who gives songs in the night,(nas) Job 35:10 καὶ οὐκ εἶπεν ποῦ ἐστιν ὁ θεὸς ὁ ποιήσας με ὁ κατατάσσων φυλακὰς νυκτερινάς (lxx) Job 35:10 Et non dixit: Ubi est Deus qui fecit me, qui dedit carmina in nocte;(vulgate) 10 ׃35 וְֽלֹא־אָמַ֗ר אַ֭יֵּה אֱל֣וֹהַּ עֹשָׂ֑י נֹתֵ֖ן זְמִר֣וֹת בַּלָּֽיְלָה׃ Job Job 35:10 aber man fragt nicht: "Wo ist Gott, mein Schöpfer, der Lobgesänge gibt in der Nacht,(dhs) Job 35:10 But no one says, 'Where is God my Maker, Who gives songs in the night,(nkjv) ======= Job 35:11 ============ Job 35:11 Who teaches us more than the beasts of the earth And makes us wiser than the birds of the heavens?'(nas) Job 35:11 ὁ διορίζων με ἀπὸ τετραπόδων γῆς ἀπὸ δὲ πετεινῶν οὐρανοῦ (lxx) Job 35:11 qui docet nos super jumenta terræ, et super volucres cæli erudit nos?(vulgate) 11 ׃35 מַ֭לְּפֵנוּ מִבַּהֲמ֣וֹת אָ֑רֶץ וּמֵע֖וֹף הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם יְחַכְּמֵֽנוּ׃ Job Job 35:11 der uns klüger macht denn das Vieh auf Erden und weiser denn die Vögel unter dem Himmel?"(dhs) Job 35:11 Who teaches us more than the beasts of the earth, And makes us wiser than the birds of heaven?'(nkjv) ======= Job 35:12 ============ Job 35:12 "There they cry out, but He does not answer Because of the pride of evil men.(nas) Job 35:12 ἐκεῖ κεκράξονται καὶ οὐ μὴ εἰσακούσῃ καὶ ἀπὸ ὕβρεως πονηρῶν (lxx) Job 35:12 Ibi clamabunt, et non exaudiet, propter superbiam malorum.(vulgate) 12 ׃35 שָׁ֣ם יִ֭צְעֲקוּ וְלֹ֣א יַעֲנֶ֑ה מִ֝פְּנֵ֗י גְּא֣וֹן רָעִֽים׃ Job Job 35:12 Da schreien sie über den Hochmut der Bösen, und er wird sie nicht erhören.(dhs) Job 35:12 There they cry out, but He does not answer, Because of the pride of evil men.(nkjv) ======= Job 35:13 ============ Job 35:13 "Surely God will not listen to an empty cry, Nor will the Almighty regard it.(nas) Job 35:13 ἄτοπα γὰρ οὐ βούλεται ὁ κύριος ἰδεῖν αὐτὸς γὰρ ὁ παντοκράτωρ ὁρατής ἐστιν (lxx) Job 35:13 Non ergo frustra audiet Deus, et Omnipotens causas singulorum intuebitur.(vulgate) 13 ׃35 אַךְ־שָׁ֭וְא לֹא־יִשְׁמַ֥ע ׀ אֵ֑ל וְ֝שַׁדַּ֗י לֹ֣א יְשׁוּרֶֽנָּה׃ Job Job 35:13 Denn Gott wird das Eitle nicht erhören, und der Allmächtige wird es nicht ansehen.(dhs) Job 35:13 Surely God will not listen to empty talk, Nor will the Almighty regard it.(nkjv) ======= Job 35:14 ============ Job 35:14 "How much less when you say you do not behold Him, The case is before Him, and you must wait for Him!(nas) Job 35:14 τῶν συντελούντων τὰ ἄνομα καὶ σώσει με κρίθητι δὲ ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ εἰ δύνασαι αἰνέσαι αὐτόν ὡς ἔστιν (lxx) Job 35:14 Etiam cum dixeris: Non considerat: judicare coram illo, et expecta eum.(vulgate) 14 ׃35 אַ֣ף כִּֽי־תֹ֭אמַר לֹ֣א תְשׁוּרֶ֑נּוּ דִּ֥ין לְ֝פָנָ֗יו וּתְח֥וֹלֵֽל לֽוֹ׃ Job Job 35:14 Nun sprichst du gar, du wirst ihn nicht sehen. Aber es ist ein Gericht vor ihm, harre sein nur!(dhs) Job 35:14 Although you say you do not see Him, Yet justice is before Him, and you must wait for Him.(nkjv) ======= Job 35:15 ============ Job 35:15 "And now, because He has not visited in His anger, Nor has He acknowledged transgression well,(nas) Job 35:15 καὶ νῦν ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἐπισκεπτόμενος ὀργὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἔγνω παραπτώματι σφόδρα (lxx) Job 35:15 Nunc enim non infert furorem suum, nec ulciscitur scelus valde.(vulgate) 15 ׃35 וְעַתָּ֗ה כִּי־אַ֭יִן פָּקַ֣ד אַפּ֑וֹ וְלֹֽא־יָדַ֖ע בַּפַּ֣שׁ מְאֹֽד׃ Job Job 35:15 ob auch sein Zorn so bald nicht heimsucht und er sich's nicht annimmt, daß so viel Laster da sind.(dhs) Job 35:15 And now, because He has not punished in His anger, Nor taken much notice of folly,(nkjv) ======= Job 35:16 ============ Job 35:16 So Job opens his mouth emptily; He multiplies words without knowledge."(nas) Job 35:16 καὶ Ιωβ ματαίως ἀνοίγει τὸ στόμα αὐτοῦ ἐν ἀγνωσίᾳ ῥήματα βαρύνει (lxx) Job 35:16 Ergo Job frustra aperit os suum, et absque scientia verba multiplicat.](vulgate) 16 ׃35 וְ֭אִיּוֹב הֶ֣בֶל יִפְצֶה־פִּ֑יהוּ בִּבְלִי־דַ֝֗עַת מִלִּ֥ין יַכְבִּֽר׃ פ Job Job 35:16 Darum hat Hiob seinen Mund umsonst aufgesperrt und gibt stolzes Gerede vor mit Unverstand.(dhs) Job 35:16 Therefore Job opens his mouth in vain; He multiplies words without knowledge."(nkjv) ======= Job 36:1 ============ top of the page
