Today's Date: Job 35:16 Therefore Job opens his mouth in vain; He multiplies words without knowledge."(nkjv) ======= Job 36:1 ============ Job 36:1 Then Elihu continued and said,(nas) Job 36:1 προσθεὶς δὲ Ελιους ἔτι λέγει (lxx) Job 36:1 Addens quoque Eliu, hæc locutus est:(vulgate) 1 ׃36 וַיֹּ֥סֶף אֱלִיה֗וּא וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ Job Job 36:1 Elihu redet weiter und sprach:(dhs) Job 36:1 Elihu also proceeded and said:(nkjv) ======= Job 36:2 ============ Job 36:2 "Wait for me a little, and I will show you That there is yet more to be said in God's behalf.(nas) Job 36:2 μεῖνόν με μικρὸν ἔτι ἵνα διδάξω σε ἔτι γὰρ ἐν ἐμοί ἐστιν λέξις (lxx) Job 36:2 [Sustine me paululum, et indicabo tibi: adhuc enim habeo quod pro Deo loquar.(vulgate) 2 ׃36 כַּתַּר־לִ֣י זְ֭עֵיר וַאֲחַוֶּ֑ךָּ כִּ֤י ע֖וֹד לֶאֱל֣וֹהַּ מִלִּֽים׃ Job Job 36:2 Harre mir noch ein wenig, ich will dir's zeigen; denn ich habe noch von Gottes wegen etwas zu sagen.(dhs) Job 36:2 "Bear with me a little, and I will show you That there are yet words to speak on God's behalf.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:3 ============ Job 36:3 "I will fetch my knowledge from afar, And I will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.(nas) Job 36:3 ἀναλαβὼν τὴν ἐπιστήμην μου μακρὰν ἔργοις δέ μου δίκαια ἐρῶ (lxx) Job 36:3 Repetam scientiam meam a principio, et operatorem meum probabo justum.(vulgate) 3 ׃36 אֶשָּׂ֣א דֵ֭עִי לְמֵרָח֑וֹק וּ֝לְפֹעֲלִ֗י אֶֽתֵּֽן־צֶֽדֶק׃ Job Job 36:3 Ich will mein Wissen weither holen und beweisen, daß mein Schöpfer recht habe.(dhs) Job 36:3 I will fetch my knowledge from afar; I will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:4 ============ Job 36:4 "For truly my words are not false; One who is perfect in knowledge is with you.(nas) Job 36:4 ἐπ᾽ ἀληθείας καὶ οὐκ ἄδικα ῥήματα ἀδίκως συνίεις (lxx) Job 36:4 Vere enim absque mendacio sermones mei, et perfecta scientia probabitur tibi.(vulgate) 4 ׃36 כִּֽי־אָ֭מְנָם לֹא־שֶׁ֣קֶר מִלָּ֑י תְּמִ֖ים דֵּע֣וֹת עִמָּֽךְ׃ Job Job 36:4 Meine Reden sollen ohne Zweifel nicht falsch sein; mein Verstand soll ohne Tadel vor dir sein.(dhs) Job 36:4 For truly my words are not false; One who is perfect in knowledge is with you.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:5 ============ Job 36:5 "Behold, God is mighty but does not despise any; He is mighty in strength of understanding.(nas) Job 36:5 γίγνωσκε δὲ ὅτι ὁ κύριος οὐ μὴ ἀποποιήσηται τὸν ἄκακον δυνατὸς ἰσχύι καρδίας (lxx) Job 36:5 Deus potentes non abjicit, cum et ipse sit potens:(vulgate) 5 ׃36 הֶן־אֵ֣ל כַּ֭בִּיר וְלֹ֣א יִמְאָ֑ס כַּ֝בִּ֗יר כֹּ֣חַֽ לֵֽב׃ Job Job 36:5 Siehe, Gott ist mächtig, und verachtet doch niemand; er ist mächtig von Kraft des Herzens.(dhs) Job 36:5 "Behold, God is mighty, but despises no one; He is mighty in strength of understanding.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:6 ============ Job 36:6 "He does not keep the wicked alive, But gives justice to the afflicted.(nas) Job 36:6 ἀσεβῆ οὐ μὴ ζωοποιήσει καὶ κρίμα πτωχῶν δώσει (lxx) Job 36:6 sed non salvat impios, et judicium pauperibus tribuit.(vulgate) 6 ׃36 לֹא־יְחַיֶּ֥ה רָשָׁ֑ע וּמִשְׁפַּ֖ט עֲנִיִּ֣ים יִתֵּֽן׃ Job Job 36:6 Den Gottlosen erhält er nicht, sondern hilft dem Elenden zum Recht.(dhs) Job 36:6 He does not preserve the life of the wicked, But gives justice to the oppressed.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:7 ============ Job 36:7 "He does not withdraw His eyes from the righteous; But with kings on the throne He has seated them forever, and they are exalted.(nas) Job 36:7 οὐκ ἀφελεῖ ἀπὸ δικαίου ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ μετὰ βασιλέων εἰς θρόνον καὶ καθιεῖ αὐτοὺς εἰς νεῖκος καὶ ὑψωθήσονται (lxx) Job 36:7 Non auferet a justo oculos suos: et reges in solio collocat in perpetuum, et illi eriguntur.(vulgate) 7 ׃36 לֹֽא־יִגְרַ֥ע מִצַּדִּ֗יק עֵ֫ינָ֥יו וְאֶת־מְלָכִ֥ים לַכִּסֵּ֑א וַיֹּשִׁיבֵ֥ם לָ֝נֶ֗צַח וַיִּגְבָּֽהוּ׃ Job Job 36:7 Er wendet seine Augen nicht von dem Gerechten; sondern mit Königen auf dem Thron läßt er sie sitzen immerdar, daß sie hoch bleiben.(dhs) Job 36:7 He does not withdraw His eyes from the righteous; But they are on the throne with kings, For He has seated them forever, And they are exalted.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:8 ============ Job 36:8 "And if they are bound in fetters, And are caught in the cords of affliction,(nas) Job 36:8 καὶ εἰ πεπεδημένοι ἐν χειροπέδαις συσχεθήσονται ἐν σχοινίοις πενίας (lxx) Job 36:8 Et si fuerint in catenis, et vinciantur funibus paupertatis,(vulgate) 8 ׃36 וְאִם־אֲסוּרִ֥ים בַּזִּקִּ֑ים יִ֝לָּכְד֗וּן בְּחַבְלֵי־עֹֽנִי׃ Job Job 36:8 Und wenn sie gefangen blieben in Stöcken und elend gebunden mit Stricken,(dhs) Job 36:8 And if they are bound in fetters, Held in the cords of affliction,(nkjv) ======= Job 36:9 ============ Job 36:9 Then He declares to them their work And their transgressions, that they have magnified themselves.(nas) Job 36:9 καὶ ἀναγγελεῖ αὐτοῖς τὰ ἔργα αὐτῶν καὶ τὰ παραπτώματα αὐτῶν ὅτι ἰσχύσουσιν (lxx) Job 36:9 indicabit eis opera eorum, et scelera eorum, quia violenti fuerunt.(vulgate) 9 ׃36 וַיַּגֵּ֣ד לָהֶ֣ם פָּעֳלָ֑ם וּ֝פִשְׁעֵיהֶ֗ם כִּ֣י יִתְגַּבָּֽרוּ׃ Job Job 36:9 so verkündigt er ihnen, was sie getan haben, und ihre Untugenden, daß sie sich überhoben,(dhs) Job 36:9 Then He tells them their work and their transgressions-- That they have acted defiantly.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:10 ============ Job 36:10 "He opens their ear to instruction, And commands that they return from evil.(nas) Job 36:10 ἀλλὰ τοῦ δικαίου εἰσακούσεται καὶ εἶπεν ὅτι ἐπιστραφήσονται ἐξ ἀδικίας (lxx) Job 36:10 Revelabit quoque aurem eorum, ut corripiat: et loquetur, ut revertantur ab iniquitate.(vulgate) 10 ׃36 וַיִּ֣גֶל אָ֭זְנָם לַמּוּסָ֑ר וַ֝יֹּ֗אמֶר כִּֽי־יְשֻׁב֥וּן מֵאָֽוֶן׃ Job Job 36:10 und öffnet ihnen das Ohr zur Zucht und sagt ihnen, daß sie sich von dem Unrechten bekehren sollen.(dhs) Job 36:10 He also opens their ear to instruction, And commands that they turn from iniquity.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:11 ============ Job 36:11 "If they hear and serve Him, They will end their days in prosperity And their years in pleasures.(nas) Job 36:11 ἐὰν ἀκούσωσιν καὶ δουλεύσωσιν συντελέσουσιν τὰς ἡμέρας αὐτῶν ἐν ἀγαθοῖς καὶ τὰ ἔτη αὐτῶν ἐν εὐπρεπείαις (lxx) Job 36:11 Si audierint et observaverint, complebunt dies suos in bono, et annos suos in gloria:(vulgate) 11 ׃36 אִֽם־יִשְׁמְע֗וּ וְֽיַעֲ֫בֹ֥דוּ יְכַלּ֣וּ יְמֵיהֶ֣ם בַּטּ֑וֹב וּ֝שְׁנֵיהֶ֗ם בַּנְּעִימִֽים׃ Job Job 36:11 Gehorchen sie und dienen ihm, so werden sie bei guten Tagen alt werden und mit Lust leben.(dhs) Job 36:11 If they obey and serve Him, They shall spend their days in prosperity, And their years in pleasures.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:12 ============ Job 36:12 "But if they do not hear, they shall perish by the sword And they will die without knowledge.(nas) Job 36:12 ἀσεβεῖς δὲ οὐ διασῴζει παρὰ τὸ μὴ βούλεσθαι εἰδέναι αὐτοὺς τὸν κύριον καὶ διότι νουθετούμενοι ἀνήκοοι ἦσαν (lxx) Job 36:12 si autem non audierint, transibunt per gladium, et consumentur in stultitia.(vulgate) 12 ׃36 וְאִם־לֹ֣א יִ֭שְׁמְעוּ בְּשֶׁ֣לַח יַעֲבֹ֑רוּ וְ֝יִגְוְע֗וּ כִּבְלִי־דָֽעַת׃ Job Job 36:12 Gehorchen sie nicht, so werden sie ins Schwert fallen und vergehen in Unverstand.(dhs) Job 36:12 But if they do not obey, They shall perish by the sword, And they shall die without knowledge.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:13 ============ Job 36:13 "But the godless in heart lay up anger; They do not cry for help when He binds them.(nas) Job 36:13 καὶ ὑποκριταὶ καρδίᾳ τάξουσιν θυμόν οὐ βοήσονται ὅτι ἔδησεν αὐτούς (lxx) Job 36:13 Simulatores et callidi provocant iram Dei, neque clamabunt cum vincti fuerint.(vulgate) 13 ׃36 וְֽחַנְפֵי־לֵ֭ב יָשִׂ֣ימוּ אָ֑ף לֹ֥א יְ֝שַׁוְּע֗וּ כִּ֣י אֲסָרָֽם׃ Job Job 36:13 Die Heuchler werden voll Zorns; sie schreien nicht, wenn er sie gebunden hat.(dhs) Job 36:13 "But the hypocrites in heart store up wrath; They do not cry for help when He binds them.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:14 ============ Job 36:14 "They die in youth, And their life perishes among the cult prostitutes.(nas) Job 36:14 ἀποθάνοι τοίνυν ἐν νεότητι ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτῶν ἡ δὲ ζωὴ αὐτῶν τιτρωσκομένη ὑπὸ ἀγγέλων (lxx) Job 36:14 Morietur in tempestate anima eorum, et vita eorum inter effeminatos.(vulgate) 14 ׃36 תָּמֹ֣ת בַּנֹּ֣עַר נַפְשָׁ֑ם וְ֝חַיָּתָ֗ם בַּקְּדֵשִֽׁים׃ Job Job 36:14 So wird ihre Seele in der Jugend sterben und ihr Leben unter den Hurern.(dhs) Job 36:14 They die in youth, And their life ends among the perverted persons.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:15 ============ Job 36:15 "He delivers the afflicted in their affliction, And opens their ear in time of oppression.(nas) Job 36:15 ἀνθ᾽ ὧν ἔθλιψαν ἀσθενῆ καὶ ἀδύνατον κρίμα δὲ πραέων ἐκθήσει (lxx) Job 36:15 Eripiet de angustia sua pauperem, et revelabit in tribulatione aurem ejus.(vulgate) 15 ׃36 יְחַלֵּ֣ץ עָנִ֣י בְעָנְי֑וֹ וְיִ֖גֶל בַּלַּ֣חַץ אָזְנָֽם׃ Job Job 36:15 Aber den Elenden wird er in seinem Elend erretten und dem Armen das Ohr öffnen in der Trübsal.(dhs) Job 36:15 He delivers the poor in their affliction, And opens their ears in oppression.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:16 ============ Job 36:16 "Then indeed, He enticed you from the mouth of distress, Instead of it, a broad place with no constraint; And that which was set on your table was full of fatness.(nas) Job 36:16 καὶ προσέτι ἠπάτησέν σε ἐκ στόματος ἐχθροῦ ἄβυσσος κατάχυσις ὑποκάτω αὐτῆς καὶ κατέβη τράπεζά σου πλήρης πιότητος (lxx) Job 36:16 Igitur salvabit te de ore angusto latissime, et non habente fundamentum subter se: requies autem mensæ tuæ erit plena pinguedine.(vulgate) 16 ׃36 וְאַ֤ף הֲסִיתְךָ֨ ׀ מִפִּי־צָ֗ר רַ֭חַב לֹא־מוּצָ֣ק תַּחְתֶּ֑יהָ וְנַ֥חַת שֻׁ֝לְחָנְךָ֗ מָ֣לֵא דָֽשֶׁן׃ Job Job 36:16 Und auch dich lockt er aus dem Rachen der Angst in weiten Raum, da keine Bedrängnis mehr ist; und an deinem Tische, voll des Guten, wirst du Ruhe haben.(dhs) Job 36:16 "Indeed He would have brought you out of dire distress, Into a broad place where there is no restraint; And what is set on your table would be full of richness.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:17 ============ Job 36:17 "But you were full of judgment on the wicked; Judgment and justice take hold of you.(nas) Job 36:17 οὐχ ὑστερήσει δὲ ἀπὸ δικαίων κρίμα (lxx) Job 36:17 Causa tua quasi impii judicata est: causam judiciumque recipies.(vulgate) 17 ׃36 וְדִין־רָשָׁ֥ע מָלֵ֑אתָ דִּ֖ין וּמִשְׁפָּ֣ט יִתְמֹֽכוּ׃ Job Job 36:17 Du aber machst die Sache der Gottlosen gut, daß ihre Sache und ihr Recht erhalten wird.(dhs) Job 36:17 But you are filled with the judgment due the wicked; Judgment and justice take hold of you.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:18 ============ Job 36:18 "Beware that wrath does not entice you to scoffing; And do not let the greatness of the ransom turn you aside.(nas) Job 36:18 θυμὸς δὲ ἐπ᾽ ἀσεβεῖς ἔσται δι᾽ ἀσέβειαν δώρων ὧν ἐδέχοντο ἐπ᾽ ἀδικίαις (lxx) Job 36:18 Non te ergo superet ira ut aliquem opprimas: nec multitudo donorum inclinet te.(vulgate) 18 ׃36 כִּֽי־חֵ֭מָה פֶּן־יְסִֽיתְךָ֣ בְסָ֑פֶק וְרָב־כֹּ֝֗פֶר אַל־יַטֶּֽךָּ׃ Job Job 36:18 Siehe zu, daß nicht vielleicht Zorn dich verlocke zum Hohn, oder die Größe des Lösegelds dich verleite.(dhs) Job 36:18 Because there is wrath, beware lest He take you away with one blow; For a large ransom would not help you avoid it.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:19 ============ Job 36:19 "Will your riches keep you from distress, Or all the forces of your strength?(nas) Job 36:19 μή σε ἐκκλινάτω ἑκὼν ὁ νοῦς δεήσεως ἐν ἀνάγκῃ ὄντων ἀδυνάτων καὶ πάντας τοὺς κραταιοῦντας ἰσχύν (lxx) Job 36:19 Depone magnitudinem tuam absque tribulatione, et omnes robustos fortitudine.(vulgate) 19 ׃36 הֲיַעֲרֹ֣ךְ שׁ֭וּעֲךָ לֹ֣א בְצָ֑ר וְ֝כֹ֗ל מַאֲמַצֵּי־כֹֽחַ׃ Job Job 36:19 Meinst du, daß er deine Gewalt achte oder Gold oder irgend eine Stärke oder Vermögen?(dhs) Job 36:19 Will your riches, Or all the mighty forces, Keep you from distress?(nkjv) ======= Job 36:20 ============ Job 36:20 "Do not long for the night, When people vanish in their place.(nas) Job 36:20 μὴ ἐξελκύσῃς τὴν νύκτα τοῦ ἀναβῆναι λαοὺς ἀντ᾽ αὐτῶν (lxx) Job 36:20 Ne protrahas noctem, ut ascendant populi pro eis.(vulgate) 20 ׃36 אַל־תִּשְׁאַ֥ף הַלָּ֑יְלָה לַעֲל֖וֹת עַמִּ֣ים תַּחְתָּֽם׃ Job Job 36:20 Du darfst der Nacht nicht begehren, welche Völker wegnimmt von ihrer Stätte.(dhs) Job 36:20 Do not desire the night, When people are cut off in their place.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:21 ============ Job 36:21 "Be careful, do not turn to evil, For you have preferred this to affliction.(nas) Job 36:21 ἀλλὰ φύλαξαι μὴ πράξῃς ἄτοπα ἐπὶ τοῦτον γὰρ ἐξείλω ἀπὸ πτωχείας (lxx) Job 36:21 Cave ne declines ad iniquitatem: hanc enim cœpisti sequi post miseriam.(vulgate) 21 ׃36 הִ֭שָּׁמֶר אַל־תֵּ֣פֶן אֶל־אָ֑וֶן כִּֽי־עַל־זֶ֝֗ה בָּחַ֥רְתָּ מֵעֹֽנִי׃ Job Job 36:21 Hüte dich und kehre dich nicht zum Unrecht, wie du denn vor Elend angefangen hast.(dhs) Job 36:21 Take heed, do not turn to iniquity, For you have chosen this rather than affliction.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:22 ============ Job 36:22 "Behold, God is exalted in His power; Who is a teacher like Him?(nas) Job 36:22 ἰδοὺ ὁ ἰσχυρὸς κραταιώσει ἐν ἰσχύι αὐτοῦ τίς γάρ ἐστιν κατ᾽ αὐτὸν δυνάστης (lxx) Job 36:22 Ecce Deus excelsus in fortitudine sua, et nullus ei similis in legislatoribus.(vulgate) 22 ׃36 הֶן־אֵ֭ל יַשְׂגִּ֣יב בְּכֹח֑וֹ מִ֖י כָמֹ֣הוּ מוֹרֶֽה׃ Job Job 36:22 Siehe Gott ist zu hoch in seiner Kraft; wo ist ein Lehrer, wie er ist?(dhs) Job 36:22 "Behold, God is exalted by His power; Who teaches like Him?(nkjv) ======= Job 36:23 ============ Job 36:23 "Who has appointed Him His way, And who has said, 'You have done wrong'?(nas) Job 36:23 τίς δέ ἐστιν ὁ ἐτάζων αὐτοῦ τὰ ἔργα ἢ τίς ὁ εἴπας ἔπραξεν ἄδικα (lxx) Job 36:23 Quis poterit scrutari vias ejus? aut quis potest ei dicere: Operatus es iniquitatem?(vulgate) 23 ׃36 מִֽי־פָקַ֣ד עָלָ֣יו דַּרְכּ֑וֹ וּמִֽי־אָ֝מַ֗ר פָּעַ֥לְתָּ עַוְלָֽה׃ Job Job 36:23 Wer will ihm weisen seinen Weg, und wer will zu ihm sagen: "Du tust Unrecht?"(dhs) Job 36:23 Who has assigned Him His way, Or who has said, 'You have done wrong'?(nkjv) ======= Job 36:24 ============ Job 36:24 "Remember that you should exalt His work, Of which men have sung.(nas) Job 36:24 μνήσθητι ὅτι μεγάλα ἐστὶν αὐτοῦ τὰ ἔργα ὧν ἦρξαν ἄνδρες (lxx) Job 36:24 Memento quod ignores opus ejus, de quo cecinerunt viri.(vulgate) 24 ׃36 זְ֭כֹר כִּֽי־תַשְׂגִּ֣יא פָעֳל֑וֹ אֲשֶׁ֖ר שֹׁרְר֣וּ אֲנָשִֽׁים׃ Job Job 36:24 Gedenke daß du sein Werk erhebest, davon die Leute singen.(dhs) Job 36:24 "Remember to magnify His work, Of which men have sung.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:25 ============ Job 36:25 "All men have seen it; Man beholds from afar.(nas) Job 36:25 πᾶς ἄνθρωπος εἶδεν ἐν ἑαυτῷ ὅσοι τιτρωσκόμενοί εἰσιν βροτοί (lxx) Job 36:25 Omnes homines vident eum: unusquisque intuetur procul.(vulgate) 25 ׃36 כָּל־אָדָ֥ם חָֽזוּ־ב֑וֹ אֱ֝נ֗וֹשׁ יַבִּ֥יט מֵרָחֽוֹק׃ Job Job 36:25 Denn alle Menschen sehen es; die Leute schauen's von ferne.(dhs) Job 36:25 Everyone has seen it; Man looks on it from afar.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:26 ============ Job 36:26 "Behold, God is exalted, and we do not know Him; The number of His years is unsearchable.(nas) Job 36:26 ἰδοὺ ὁ ἰσχυρὸς πολύς καὶ οὐ γνωσόμεθα ἀριθμὸς ἐτῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀπέραντος (lxx) Job 36:26 Ecce Deus magnus vincens scientiam nostram: numerus annorum ejus inæstimabilis.(vulgate) 26 ׃36 הֶן־אֵ֣ל שַׂ֭גִּיא וְלֹ֣א נֵדָ֑ע מִסְפַּ֖ר שָׁנָ֣יו וְלֹא־חֵֽקֶר׃ Job Job 36:26 Siehe Gott ist groß und unbekannt; He gives food in abundance.(nas) Job 36:31 ἐν γὰρ αὐτοῖς κρινεῖ λαούς δώσει τροφὴν τῷ ἰσχύοντι (lxx) Job 36:31 Per hæc enim judicat populos, et dat escas multis mortalibus.(vulgate) 31 ׃36 כִּי־בָ֭ם יָדִ֣ין עַמִּ֑ים יִֽתֶּן־אֹ֥כֶל לְמַכְבִּֽיר׃ Job Job 36:31 Denn damit schreckt er die Leute und gibt doch Speise die Fülle.(dhs) Job 36:31 For by these He judges the peoples; He gives food in abundance.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:32 ============ Job 36:32 "He covers His hands with the lightning, And commands it to strike the mark.(nas) Job 36:32 ἐπὶ χειρῶν ἐκάλυψεν φῶς καὶ ἐνετείλατο περὶ αὐτῆς ἐν ἀπαντῶντι (lxx) Job 36:32 In manibus abscondit lucem, et præcepit ei ut rursus adveniat.(vulgate) 32 ׃36 עַל־כַּפַּ֥יִם כִּסָּה־א֑וֹר וַיְצַ֖ו עָלֶ֣יהָ בְמַפְגִּֽיעַ׃ Job Job 36:32 Er deckt den Blitz wie mit Händen und heißt ihn doch wieder kommen.(dhs) Job 36:32 He covers His hands with lightning, And commands it to strike.(nkjv) ======= Job 36:33 ============ Job 36:33 "Its noise declares His presence;
