Today's Date: Job 37:24 Therefore men fear Him; He shows no partiality to any who are wise of heart."(nkjv) ======= Job 38:1 ============ Job 38:1 Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said,(nas) Job 38:1 μετὰ δὲ τὸ παύσασθαι Ελιουν τῆς λέξεως εἶπεν ὁ κύριος τῷ Ιωβ διὰ λαίλαπος καὶ νεφῶν (lxx) Job 38:1 Respondens autem Dominus Job de turbine, dixit:(vulgate) 1 ׃38 וַיַּֽעַן־יְהוָ֣ה אֶת־אִ֭יּוֹב *מנ[c] *הסערה **מִ֥ן ׀ **הַסְּעָרָ֗ה וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ Job Job 38:1 Und der HERR antwortete Hiob aus dem Wetter und sprach:(dhs) Job 38:1 Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said:(nkjv) ======= Job 38:2 ============ Job 38:2 "Who is this that darkens counsel By words without knowledge?(nas) Job 38:2 τίς οὗτος ὁ κρύπτων με βουλήν συνέχων δὲ ῥήματα ἐν καρδίᾳ ἐμὲ δὲ οἴεται κρύπτειν (lxx) Job 38:2 [Quis est iste involvens sententias sermonibus imperitis?(vulgate) 2 ׃38 מִ֤י זֶ֨ה ׀ מַחְשִׁ֖יךְ עֵצָ֥ה בְמִלִּ֗ין בְּֽלִי־דָֽעַת׃ Job Job 38:2 Wer ist der, der den Ratschluß verdunkelt mit Worten ohne Verstand?(dhs) Job 38:2 "Who is this who darkens counsel By words without knowledge?(nkjv) ======= Job 38:3 ============ Job 38:3 "Now gird up your loins like a man, And I will ask you, and you instruct Me!(nas) Job 38:3 ζῶσαι ὥσπερ ἀνὴρ τὴν ὀσφύν σου ἐρωτήσω δέ σε σὺ δέ μοι ἀποκρίθητι (lxx) Job 38:3 Accinge sicut vir lumbos tuos: interrogabo te, et responde mihi.(vulgate) 3 ׃38 אֱזָר־נָ֣א כְגֶ֣בֶר חֲלָצֶ֑יךָ וְ֝אֶשְׁאָלְךָ֗ וְהוֹדִיעֵֽנִי׃ Job Job 38:3 Gürte deine Lenden wie ein Mann; ich will dich fragen, lehre mich!(dhs) Job 38:3 Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me.(nkjv) ======= Job 38:4 ============ Job 38:4 "Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding,(nas) Job 38:4 ποῦ ἦς ἐν τῷ θεμελιοῦν με τὴν γῆν ἀπάγγειλον δέ μοι εἰ ἐπίστῃ σύνεσιν (lxx) Job 38:4 Ubi eras quando ponebam fundamenta terræ? indica mihi, si habes intelligentiam.(vulgate) 4 ׃38 אֵיפֹ֣ה הָ֭יִיתָ בְּיָסְדִי־אָ֑רֶץ הַ֝גֵּ֗ד אִם־יָדַ֥עְתָּ בִינָֽה׃ Job Job 38:4 Wo warst du, da ich die Erde gründete? Sage an, bist du so klug!(dhs) Job 38:4 "Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Or who stretched the line on it?(nas) Job 38:5 τίς ἔθετο τὰ μέτρα αὐτῆς εἰ οἶδας ἢ τίς ὁ ἐπαγαγὼν σπαρτίον ἐπ᾽ αὐτῆς (lxx) Job 38:5 Quis posuit mensuras ejus, si nosti? vel quis tetendit super eam lineam?(vulgate) 5 ׃38 מִי־שָׂ֣ם מְ֭מַדֶּיהָ כִּ֣י תֵדָ֑ע א֤וֹ מִֽי־נָטָ֖ה עָלֶ֣יהָ קָּֽו׃ Job Job 38:5 Weißt du, wer ihr das Maß gesetzt hat oder wer über sie eine Richtschnur gezogen hat?(dhs) Job 38:5 Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it?(nkjv) ======= Job 38:6 ============ Job 38:6 "On what were its bases sunk? Or who laid its cornerstone,(nas) Job 38:6 ἐπὶ τίνος οἱ κρίκοι αὐτῆς πεπήγασιν τίς δέ ἐστιν ὁ βαλὼν λίθον γωνιαῖον ἐπ᾽ αὐτῆς (lxx) Job 38:6 Super quo bases illius solidatæ sunt? aut quis demisit lapidem angularem ejus,(vulgate) 6 ׃38 עַל־מָ֭ה אֲדָנֶ֣יהָ הָטְבָּ֑עוּ א֥וֹ מִֽי־יָ֝רָ֗ה אֶ֣בֶן פִּנָּתָֽהּ׃ Job Job 38:6 Worauf stehen ihre Füße versenkt, oder wer hat ihren Eckstein gelegt,(dhs) Job 38:6 To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone,(nkjv) ======= Job 38:7 ============ Job 38:7 When the morning stars sang together And all the sons of God shouted for joy?(nas) Job 38:7 ὅτε ἐγενήθησαν ἄστρα ᾔνεσάν με φωνῇ μεγάλῃ πάντες ἄγγελοί μου (lxx) Job 38:7 cum me laudarent simul astra matutina, et jubilarent omnes filii Dei?(vulgate) 7 ׃38 בְּרָן־יַ֭חַד כּ֣וֹכְבֵי בֹ֑קֶר וַ֝יָּרִ֗יעוּ כָּל־בְּנֵ֥י אֱלֹהִֽים׃ Job Job 38:7 da mich die Morgensterne miteinander lobten und jauchzten alle Kinder Gottes?(dhs) Job 38:7 When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?(nkjv) ======= Job 38:8 ============ Job 38:8 "Or who enclosed the sea with doors When, bursting forth, it went out from the womb;(nas) Job 38:8 ἔφραξα δὲ θάλασσαν πύλαις ὅτε ἐμαίμασσεν ἐκ κοιλίας μητρὸς αὐτῆς ἐκπορευομένη (lxx) Job 38:8 Quis conclusit ostiis mare, quando erumpebat quasi de vulva procedens;(vulgate) 8 ׃38 וַיָּ֣סֶךְ בִּדְלָתַ֣יִם יָ֑ם בְּ֝גִיח֗וֹ מֵרֶ֥חֶם יֵצֵֽא׃ Job Job 38:8 Wer hat das Meer mit Türen verschlossen, da es herausbrach wie aus Mutterleib,(dhs) Job 38:8 "Or who shut in the sea with doors, When it burst forth and issued from the womb;(nkjv) ======= Job 38:9 ============ Job 38:9 When I made a cloud its garment And thick darkness its swaddling band,(nas) Job 38:9 ἐθέμην δὲ αὐτῇ νέφος ἀμφίασιν ὁμίχλῃ δὲ αὐτὴν ἐσπαργάνωσα (lxx) Job 38:9 cum ponerem nubem vestimentum ejus, et caligine illud quasi pannis infantiæ obvolverem?(vulgate) 9 ׃38 בְּשׂוּמִ֣י עָנָ֣ן לְבֻשׁ֑וֹ וַ֝עֲרָפֶ֗ל חֲתֻלָּתֽוֹ׃ Job Job 38:9 da ich's mit Wolken kleidete und in Dunkel einwickelte wie in Windeln,(dhs) Job 38:9 When I made the clouds its garment, And thick darkness its swaddling band;(nkjv) ======= Job 38:10 ============ Job 38:10 And I placed boundaries on it And set a bolt and doors,(nas) Job 38:10 ἐθέμην δὲ αὐτῇ ὅρια περιθεὶς κλεῖθρα καὶ πύλας (lxx) Job 38:10 Circumdedi illud terminis meis, et posui vectem et ostia,(vulgate) 10 ׃38 וָאֶשְׁבֹּ֣ר עָלָ֣יו חֻקִּ֑י וָֽ֝אָשִׂ֗ים בְּרִ֣יחַ וּדְלָתָֽיִם׃ Job Job 38:10 da ich ihm den Lauf brach mit meinem Damm und setzte ihm Riegel und Türen(dhs) Job 38:10 When I fixed My limit for it, And set bars and doors;(nkjv) ======= Job 38:11 ============ Job 38:11 And I said, 'Thus far you shall come, but no farther; And here shall your proud waves stop'?(nas) Job 38:11 εἶπα δὲ αὐτῇ μέχρι τούτου ἐλεύσῃ καὶ οὐχ ὑπερβήσῃ ἀλλ᾽ ἐν σεαυτῇ συντριβήσεταί σου τὰ κύματα (lxx) Job 38:11 et dixi: Usque huc venies, et non procedes amplius, et hic confringes tumentes fluctus tuos.(vulgate) 11 ׃38 וָאֹמַ֗ר עַד־פֹּ֣ה תָ֭בוֹא וְלֹ֣א תֹסִ֑יף וּפֹ֥א־יָ֝שִׁ֗ית בִּגְא֥וֹן גַּלֶּֽיךָ׃ Job Job 38:11 und sprach: "Bis hierher sollst du kommen und nicht weiter; hier sollen sich legen deine stolzen Wellen!"?(dhs) Job 38:11 When I said, 'This far you may come, but no farther, And here your proud waves must stop!'(nkjv) ======= Job 38:12 ============ Job 38:12 "Have you ever in your life commanded the morning, And caused the dawn to know its place,(nas) Job 38:12 ἦ ἐπὶ σοῦ συντέταχα φέγγος πρωινόν ἑωσφόρος δὲ εἶδεν τὴν ἑαυτοῦ τάξιν (lxx) Job 38:12 Numquid post ortum tuum præcepisti diluculo, et ostendisti auroræ locum suum?(vulgate) 12 ׃38 הְֽ֭מִיָּמֶיךָ צִוִּ֣יתָ בֹּ֑קֶר *ידעתה *שחר **יִדַּ֖עְתָּה **הַשַּׁ֣חַר מְקֹמֽוֹ׃ Job Job 38:12 Hast du bei deiner Zeit dem Morgen geboten und der Morgenröte ihren Ort gezeigt,(dhs) Job 38:12 "Have you commanded the morning since your days began, And caused the dawn to know its place,(nkjv) ======= Job 38:13 ============ Job 38:13 That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it?(nas) Job 38:13 ἐπιλαβέσθαι πτερύγων γῆς ἐκτινάξαι ἀσεβεῖς ἐξ αὐτῆς (lxx) Job 38:13 Et tenuisti concutiens extrema terræ, et excussisti impios ex ea?(vulgate) 13 ׃38 לֶ֭אֱחֹז בְּכַנְפ֣וֹת הָאָ֑רֶץ וְיִנָּעֲר֖וּ רְשָׁעִ֣[7]ים מִמֶּֽנָּה׃ Job Job 38:13 daß sie die Ecken der Erde fasse und die Gottlosen herausgeschüttelt werden?(dhs) Job 38:13 That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it?(nkjv) ======= Job 38:14 ============ Job 38:14 "It is changed like clay under the seal; And they stand forth like a garment.(nas) Job 38:14 ἦ σὺ λαβὼν γῆν πηλὸν ἔπλασας ζῷον καὶ λαλητὸν αὐτὸν ἔθου ἐπὶ γῆς (lxx) Job 38:14 Restituetur ut lutum signaculum, et stabit sicut vestimentum:(vulgate) 14 ׃38 תִּ֭תְהַפֵּךְ כְּחֹ֣מֶר חוֹתָ֑ם וְ֝יִֽתְיַצְּב֗וּ כְּמ֣וֹ לְבֽוּשׁ׃ Job Job 38:14 Sie wandelt sich wie Ton unter dem Siegel, und alles steht da wie im Kleide.(dhs) Job 38:14 It takes on form like clay under a seal, And stands out like a garment.(nkjv) ======= Job 38:15 ============ Job 38:15 "From the wicked their light is withheld, And the uplifted arm is broken.(nas) Job 38:15 ἀφεῖλας δὲ ἀπὸ ἀσεβῶν τὸ φῶς βραχίονα δὲ ὑπερηφάνων συνέτριψας (lxx) Job 38:15 auferetur ab impiis lux sua, et brachium excelsum confringetur.(vulgate) 15 ׃38 וְיִמָּנַ֣ע מֵרְשָׁעִ֣[7]ים אוֹרָ֑ם וּזְר֥וֹעַ רָ֝מָ֗ה תִּשָּׁבֵֽר׃ Job Job 38:15 Und den Gottlosen wird ihr Licht genommen, und der Arm der Hoffärtigen wird zerbrochen.(dhs) Job 38:15 From the wicked their light is withheld, And the upraised arm is broken.(nkjv) ======= Job 38:16 ============ Job 38:16 "Have you entered into the springs of the sea Or walked in the recesses of the deep?(nas) Job 38:16 ἦλθες δὲ ἐπὶ πηγὴν θαλάσσης ἐν δὲ ἴχνεσιν ἀβύσσου περιεπάτησας (lxx) Job 38:16 Numquid ingressus es profunda maris, et in novissimis abyssi deambulasti?(vulgate) 16 ׃38 הֲ֭בָאתָ עַד־נִבְכֵי־יָ֑ם וּבְחֵ֥קֶר תְּ֝ה֗וֹם הִתְהַלָּֽכְתָּ׃ Job Job 38:16 Bist du in den Grund des Meeres gekommen und in den Fußtapfen der Tiefe gewandelt?(dhs) Job 38:16 "Have you entered the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in search of the depths?(nkjv) ======= Job 38:17 ============ Job 38:17 "Have the gates of death been revealed to you, Or have you seen the gates of deep darkness?(nas) Job 38:17 ἀνοίγονται δέ σοι φόβῳ πύλαι θανάτου πυλωροὶ δὲ ᾅδου ἰδόντες σε ἔπτηξαν (lxx) Job 38:17 Numquid apertæ sunt tibi portæ mortis, et ostia tenebrosa vidisti?(vulgate) 17 ׃38 הֲנִגְל֣וּ לְ֭ךָ שַׁעֲרֵי־מָ֑וֶת וְשַׁעֲרֵ֖י צַלְמָ֣וֶת תִּרְאֶֽה׃ Job Job 38:17 Haben sich dir des Todes Tore je aufgetan, oder hast du gesehen die Tore der Finsternis?(dhs) Job 38:17 Have the gates of death been revealed to you? Or have you seen the doors of the shadow of death?(nkjv) ======= Job 38:18 ============ Job 38:18 "Have you understood the expanse of the earth? Tell Me, if you know all this.(nas) Job 38:18 νενουθέτησαι δὲ τὸ εὖρος τῆς ὑπ᾽ οὐρανόν ἀνάγγειλον δή μοι πόση τίς ἐστιν (lxx) Job 38:18 Numquid considerasti latitudinem terræ? indica mihi, si nosti, omnia:(vulgate) 18 ׃38 הִ֭תְבֹּנַנְתָּ עַד־רַחֲבֵי־אָ֑רֶץ הַ֝גֵּ֗ד אִם־יָדַ֥עְתָּ כֻלָּֽהּ׃ Job Job 38:18 Hast du vernommen wie breit die Erde sei? Sage an, weißt du solches alles!(dhs) Job 38:18 Have you comprehended the breadth of the earth? Tell Me, if you know all this.(nkjv) ======= Job 38:19 ============ Job 38:19 "Where is the way to the dwelling of light? And darkness, where is its place,(nas) Job 38:19 ποίᾳ δὲ γῇ αὐλίζεται τὸ φῶς σκότους δὲ ποῖος ὁ τόπος (lxx) Job 38:19 in qua via lux habitet, et tenebrarum quis locus sit:(vulgate) 19 ׃38 אֵי־זֶ֣ה הַ֭דֶּרֶךְ יִשְׁכָּן־א֑וֹר וְ֝חֹ֗שֶׁךְ אֵי־זֶ֥ה מְקֹמֽוֹ׃ Job Job 38:19 Welches ist der Weg, da das Licht wohnt, und welches ist der Finsternis Stätte,(dhs) Job 38:19 "Where is the way to the dwelling of light? And darkness, where is its place,(nkjv) ======= Job 38:20 ============ Job 38:20 That you may take it to its territory And that you may discern the paths to its home?(nas) Job 38:20 εἰ ἀγάγοις με εἰς ὅρια αὐτῶν εἰ δὲ καὶ ἐπίστασαι τρίβους αὐτῶν (lxx) Job 38:20 ut ducas unumquodque ad terminos suos, et intelligas semitas domus ejus.(vulgate) 20 ׃38 כִּ֣י תִ֭קָּחֶנּוּ אֶל־גְּבוּל֑וֹ וְכִֽי־תָ֝בִין נְתִיב֥וֹת בֵּיתֽוֹ׃ Job Job 38:20 daß du mögest ergründen seine Grenze und merken den Pfad zu seinem Hause?(dhs) Job 38:20 That you may take it to its territory, That you may know the paths to its home?(nkjv) ======= Job 38:21 ============ Job 38:21 "You know, for you were born then, And the number of your days is great!(nas) Job 38:21 οἶδα ἄρα ὅτι τότε γεγέννησαι ἀριθμὸς δὲ ἐτῶν σου πολύς (lxx) Job 38:21 Sciebas tunc quod nasciturus esses, et numerum dierum tuorum noveras?(vulgate) 21 ׃38 יָ֭דַעְתָּ כִּי־אָ֣ז תִּוָּלֵ֑ד וּמִסְפַּ֖ר יָמֶ֣יךָ רַבִּֽים׃ Job Job 38:21 Du weißt es ja; denn zu der Zeit wurdest du geboren, und deiner Tage sind viel.(dhs) Job 38:21 Do you know it, because you were born then, Or because the number of your days is great?(nkjv) ======= Job 38:22 ============ Job 38:22 "Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, Or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,(nas) Job 38:22 ἦλθες δὲ ἐπὶ θησαυροὺς χιόνος θησαυροὺς δὲ χαλάζης ἑόρακας (lxx) Job 38:22 Numquid ingressus es thesauros nivis, aut thesauros grandinis aspexisti,(vulgate) 22 ׃38 הֲ֭בָאתָ אֶל־אֹצְר֣וֹת שָׁ֑לֶג וְאֹצְר֖וֹת בָּרָ֣ד תִּרְאֶֽה׃ Job Job 38:22 Bist du gewesen, da der Schnee her kommt, oder hast du gesehen, wo der Hagel her kommt,(dhs) Job 38:22 "Have you entered the treasury of snow, Or have you seen the treasury of hail,(nkjv) ======= Job 38:23 ============ Job 38:23 Which I have reserved for the time of distress, For the day of war and battle?(nas) Job 38:23 ἀπόκειται δέ σοι εἰς ὥραν ἐχθρῶν εἰς ἡμέραν πολέμου καὶ μάχης (lxx) Job 38:23 quæ præparavi in tempus hostis, in diem pugnæ et belli?(vulgate) 23 ׃38 אֲשֶׁר־חָשַׂ֥כְתִּי לְעֶת־צָ֑ר לְי֥וֹם קְ֝רָ֗ב וּמִלְחָמָֽה׃ Job Job 38:23 die ich habe aufbehalten bis auf die Zeit der Trübsal und auf den Tag des Streites und Krieges?(dhs) Job 38:23 Which I have reserved for the time of trouble, For the day of battle and war?(nkjv) ======= Job 38:24 ============ Job 38:24 "Where is the way that the light is divided, Or the east wind scattered on the earth?(nas) Job 38:24 πόθεν δὲ ἐκπορεύεται πάχνη ἢ διασκεδάννυται νότος εἰς τὴν ὑπ᾽ οὐρανόν (lxx) Job 38:24 Per quam viam spargitur lux, dividitur æstus super terram?(vulgate) 24 ׃38 אֵי־זֶ֣ה הַ֭דֶּרֶךְ יֵחָ֣לֶק א֑וֹר יָפֵ֖ץ קָדִ֣ים עֲלֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃ Job Job 38:24 Durch welchen Weg teilt sich das Licht und fährt der Ostwind hin über die Erde?(dhs) Job 38:24 By what way is light diffused, Or the east wind scattered over the earth?(nkjv) ======= Job 38:25 ============ Job 38:25 "Who has cleft a channel for the flood, Or a way for the thunderbolt,(nas) Job 38:25 τίς δὲ ἡτοίμασεν ὑετῷ λάβρῳ ῥύσιν ὁδὸν δὲ κυδοιμῶν (lxx) Job 38:25 Quis dedit vehementissimo imbri cursum, et viam sonantis tonitrui,(vulgate) 25 ׃38 מִֽי־פִלַּ֣ג לַשֶּׁ֣טֶף תְּעָלָ֑ה וְ֝דֶ֗רֶךְ לַחֲזִ֥יז קֹלֽוֹת׃ Job Job 38:25 Wer hat dem Platzregen seinen Lauf ausgeteilt und den Weg dem Blitz und dem Donner(dhs) Job 38:25 "Who has divided a channel for the overflowing water, Or a path for the thunderbolt,(nkjv) ======= Job 38:26 ============ Job 38:26 To bring rain on a land without people, On a desert without a man in it,(nas) Job 38:26 τοῦ ὑετίσαι ἐπὶ γῆν οὗ οὐκ ἀνήρ ἔρημον οὗ οὐχ ὑπάρχει ἄνθρωπος ἐν αὐτῇ (lxx) Job 38:26 ut plueret super terram absque homine in deserto, ubi nullus mortalium commoratur;(vulgate) 26 ׃38 לְ֭הַמְטִיר עַל־אֶ֣רֶץ לֹא־אִ֑ישׁ מִ֝דְבָּ֗ר לֹא־אָדָ֥ם בּֽוֹ׃ Job Job 38:26 und läßt regnen aufs Land da niemand ist, in der Wüste, da kein Mensch ist,(dhs) Job 38:26 To cause it to rain on a land where there is no one, A wilderness in which there is no man;(nkjv) ======= Job 38:27 ============ Job 38:27 To satisfy the waste and desolate land And to make the seeds of grass to sprout?(nas) Job 38:27 τοῦ χορτάσαι ἄβατον καὶ ἀοίκητον καὶ τοῦ ἐκβλαστῆσαι ἔξοδον χλόης (lxx) Job 38:27 ut impleret inviam et desolatam, et produceret herbas virentes?(vulgate) 27 ׃38 לְהַשְׂבִּ֣יעַ שֹׁ֭אָה וּמְשֹׁאָ֑ה וּ֝לְהַצְמִ֗יחַ מֹ֣צָא דֶֽשֶׁא׃ Job Job 38:27 daß er füllt die Einöde und Wildnis und macht das Gras wächst?(dhs) Job 38:27 To satisfy the desolate waste, And cause to spring forth the growth of tender grass?(nkjv) ======= Job 38:28 ============ Job 38:28 "Has the rain a father? Or who has begotten the drops of dew?(nas) Job 38:28 τίς ἐστιν ὑετοῦ πατήρ τίς δέ ἐστιν ὁ τετοκὼς βώλους δρόσου (lxx) Job 38:28 Quis est pluviæ pater? vel quis genuit stillas roris?(vulgate) 28 ׃38 הֲיֵשׁ־לַמָּטָ֥ר אָ֑ב א֥וֹ מִי־ה֝וֹלִ֗יד אֶגְלֵי־טָֽל׃ Job Job 38:28 Wer ist des Regens Vater?
