Today's Date: Job 36:33 His thunder declares it, The cattle also, concerning the rising storm.(nkjv) ======= Job 37:1 ============ Job 37:1 "At this also my heart trembles, And leaps from its place.(nas) Job 37:1 καὶ ταύτης ἐταράχθη ἡ καρδία μου καὶ ἀπερρύη ἐκ τοῦ τόπου αὐτῆς (lxx) Job 37:1 [Super hoc expavit cor meum, et emotum est de loco suo.(vulgate) 1 ׃37 אַף־לְ֭זֹאת יֶחֱרַ֣ד לִבִּ֑י וְ֝יִתַּ֗ר מִמְּקוֹמֽוֹ׃ Job Job 37:1 Des entsetzt sich mein Herz und bebt.(dhs) Job 37:1 "At this also my heart trembles, And leaps from its place.(nkjv) ======= Job 37:2 ============ Job 37:2 "Listen closely to the thunder of His voice, And the rumbling that goes out from His mouth.(nas) Job 37:2 ἄκουε ἀκοὴν ἐν ὀργῇ θυμοῦ κυρίου καὶ μελέτη ἐκ στόματος αὐτοῦ ἐξελεύσεται (lxx) Job 37:2 Audite auditionem in terrore vocis ejus, et sonum de ore illius procedentem.(vulgate) 2 ׃37 שִׁמְע֤וּ שָׁמ֣וֹעַ בְּרֹ֣גֶז קֹל֑וֹ וְ֝הֶ֗גֶה מִפִּ֥יו יֵצֵֽא׃ Job Job 37:2 O höret doch, wie der Donner zürnt, und was für Gespräch von seinem Munde ausgeht!(dhs) Job 37:2 Hear attentively the thunder of His voice, And the rumbling that comes from His mouth.(nkjv) ======= Job 37:3 ============ Job 37:3 "Under the whole heaven He lets it loose, And His lightning to the ends of the earth.(nas) Job 37:3 ὑποκάτω παντὸς τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἀρχὴ αὐτοῦ καὶ τὸ φῶς αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ πτερύγων τῆς γῆς (lxx) Job 37:3 Subter omnes cælos ipse considerat, et lumen illius super terminos terræ.(vulgate) 3 ׃37 תַּֽחַת־כָּל־הַשָּׁמַ֥יִם יִשְׁרֵ֑הוּ וְ֝אוֹר֗וֹ עַל־כַּנְפ֥וֹת הָאָֽרֶץ׃ Job Job 37:3 Er läßt ihn hinfahren unter allen Himmeln, und sein Blitz scheint auf die Enden der Erde.(dhs) Job 37:3 He sends it forth under the whole heaven, His lightning to the ends of the earth.(nkjv) ======= Job 37:4 ============ Job 37:4 "After it, a voice roars; He thunders with His majestic voice, And He does not restrain the lightnings when His voice is heard.(nas) Job 37:4 ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ βοήσεται φωνή βροντήσει ἐν φωνῇ ὕβρεως αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἀνταλλάξει αὐτούς ὅτι ἀκούσει φωνὴν αὐτοῦ (lxx) Job 37:4 Post eum rugiet sonitus; tonabit voce magnitudinis suæ: et non investigabitur, cum audita fuerit vox ejus.(vulgate) 4 ׃37 אַחֲרָ֤יו ׀ יִשְׁאַג־ק֗וֹל יַ֭רְעֵם בְּק֣וֹל גְּאוֹנ֑וֹ וְלֹ֥א יְ֝עַקְּבֵ֗ם כִּֽי־יִשָּׁמַ֥ע קוֹלֽוֹ׃ Job Job 37:4 Ihm nach brüllt der Donner, und er donnert mit seinem großen Schall; und wenn sein Donner gehört wird, kann man's nicht aufhalten.(dhs) Job 37:4 After it a voice roars; He thunders with His majestic voice, And He does not restrain them when His voice is heard.(nkjv) ======= Job 37:5 ============ Job 37:5 "God thunders with His voice wondrously, Doing great things which we cannot comprehend.(nas) Job 37:5 βροντήσει ὁ ἰσχυρὸς ἐν φωνῇ αὐτοῦ θαυμάσια ἐποίησεν γὰρ μεγάλα ἃ οὐκ ᾔδειμεν (lxx) Job 37:5 Tonabit Deus in voce sua mirabiliter, qui facit magna et inscrutabilia;(vulgate) 5 ׃37 יַרְעֵ֤ם אֵ֣ל בְּ֭קוֹלוֹ נִפְלָא֑וֹת עֹשֶׂ֥ה גְ֝דֹל֗וֹת וְלֹ֣א נֵדָֽע׃ Job Job 37:5 Gott donnert mit seinem Donner wunderbar und tut große Dinge und wird doch nicht erkannt.(dhs) Job 37:5 God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend.(nkjv) ======= Job 37:6 ============ Job 37:6 "For to the snow He says, 'Fall on the earth, 'And to the downpour and the rain, 'Be strong.'(nas) Job 37:6 συντάσσων χιόνι γίνου ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ χειμὼν ὑετός καὶ χειμὼν ὑετῶν δυναστείας αὐτοῦ (lxx) Job 37:6 qui præcipit nivi ut descendat in terram, et hiemis pluviis, et imbri fortitudinis suæ;(vulgate) 6 ׃37 כִּ֤י לַשֶּׁ֨לַג ׀ יֹאמַ֗ר הֱוֵ֫א אָ֥רֶץ וְגֶ֥שֶׁם מָטָ֑ר וְ֝גֶ֗שֶׁם מִטְר֥וֹת עֻזּֽוֹ׃ Job Job 37:6 Er spricht zum Schnee, so ist er bald auf Erden, und zum Platzregen, so ist der Platzregen da mit Macht.(dhs) Job 37:6 For He says to the snow, 'Fall on the earth'; Likewise to the gentle rain and the heavy rain of His strength.(nkjv) ======= Job 37:7 ============ Job 37:7 "He seals the hand of every man, That all men may know His work.(nas) Job 37:7 ἐν χειρὶ παντὸς ἀνθρώπου κατασφραγίζει ἵνα γνῷ πᾶς ἄνθρωπος τὴν ἑαυτοῦ ἀσθένειαν (lxx) Job 37:7 qui in manu omnium hominum signat, ut noverint singuli opera sua.(vulgate) 7 ׃37 בְּיַד־כָּל־אָדָ֥ם יַחְתּ֑וֹם לָ֝דַ֗עַת כָּל־אַנְשֵׁ֥י מַעֲשֵֽׂהוּ׃ Job Job 37:7 Aller Menschen Hand hält er verschlossen, daß die Leute lernen, was er tun kann.(dhs) Job 37:7 He seals the hand of every man, That all men may know His work.(nkjv) ======= Job 37:8 ============ Job 37:8 "Then the beast goes into its lair And remains in its den.(nas) Job 37:8 εἰσῆλθεν δὲ θηρία ὑπὸ σκέπην ἡσύχασαν δὲ ἐπὶ κοίτης (lxx) Job 37:8 Ingredietur bestia latibulum, et in antro suo morabitur.(vulgate) 8 ׃37 וַתָּבֹ֣א חַיָּ֣ה בְמוֹ־אָ֑רֶב וּבִמְע֖וֹנֹתֶ֣יהָ תִשְׁכֹּֽן׃ Job Job 37:8 Das wilde Tier geht in seine Höhle und bleibt an seinem Ort.(dhs) Job 37:8 The beasts go into dens, And remain in their lairs.(nkjv) ======= Job 37:9 ============ Job 37:9 "Out of the south comes the storm, And out of the north the cold.(nas) Job 37:9 ἐκ ταμιείων ἐπέρχονται δῖναι ἀπὸ δὲ ἀκρωτηρίων ψῦχος (lxx) Job 37:9 Ab interioribus egredietur tempestas, et ab Arcturo frigus.(vulgate) 9 ׃37 מִן־הַ֭חֶדֶר תָּב֣וֹא סוּפָ֑ה וּֽמִמְּזָרִ֥ים קָרָֽה׃ Job Job 37:9 Von Mittag her kommt Wetter und von Mitternacht Kälte.(dhs) Job 37:9 From the chamber of the south comes the whirlwind, And cold from the scattering winds of the north.(nkjv) ======= Job 37:10 ============ Job 37:10 "From the breath of God ice is made, And the expanse of the waters is frozen.(nas) Job 37:10 καὶ ἀπὸ πνοῆς ἰσχυροῦ δώσει πάγος οἰακίζει δὲ τὸ ὕδωρ ὡς ἐὰν βούληται (lxx) Job 37:10 Flante Deo, concrescit gelu, et rursum latissimæ funduntur aquæ.(vulgate) 10 ׃37 מִנִּשְׁמַת־אֵ֥ל יִתֶּן־קָ֑רַח וְרֹ֖חַב מַ֣יִם בְּמוּצָֽק׃ Job Job 37:10 Vom Odem Gottes kommt Frost, und große Wasser ziehen sich eng zusammen.(dhs) Job 37:10 By the breath of God ice is given, And the broad waters are frozen.(nkjv) ======= Job 37:11 ============ Job 37:11 "Also with moisture He loads the thick cloud; He disperses the cloud of His lightning.(nas) Job 37:11 καὶ ἐκλεκτὸν καταπλάσσει νεφέλη διασκορπιεῖ νέφος φῶς αὐτοῦ (lxx) Job 37:11 Frumentum desiderat nubes, et nubes spargunt lumen suum.(vulgate) 11 ׃37 אַף־בְּ֭רִי יַטְרִ֣יחַ עָ֑ב יָ֝פִ֗יץ עֲנַ֣ן אוֹרֽוֹ׃ Job Job 37:11 Die Wolken beschwert er mit Wasser, und durch das Gewölk bricht sein Licht.(dhs) Job 37:11 Also with moisture He saturates the thick clouds; He scatters His bright clouds.(nkjv) ======= Job 37:12 ============ Job 37:12 "It changes direction, turning around by His guidance, That it may do whatever He commands it On the face of the inhabited earth.(nas) Job 37:12 καὶ αὐτὸς κυκλώματα διαστρέψει ἐν θεεβουλαθω εἰς ἔργα αὐτῶν πάντα ὅσα ἂν ἐντείληται αὐτοῖς ταῦτα συντέτακται παρ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς (lxx) Job 37:12 Quæ lustrant per circuitum, quocumque eas voluntas gubernantis duxerit, ad omne quod præceperit illis super faciem orbis terrarum:(vulgate) 12 ׃37 וְה֤וּא מְסִבּ֨וֹת ׀ מִתְהַפֵּ֣ךְ *בתחבולתו **בְּתַחְבּוּלֹתָ֣יו לְפָעֳלָ֑ם כֹּ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר יְצַוֵּ֓ם ׀ עַל־פְּנֵ֖י תֵבֵ֣ל אָֽרְצָה׃ Job Job 37:12 Er kehrt die Wolken, wo er hin will, daß sie schaffen alles, was er ihnen gebeut, auf dem Erdboden:(dhs) Job 37:12 And they swirl about, being turned by His guidance, That they may do whatever He commands them On the face of the whole earth.(nkjv) ======= Job 37:13 ============ Job 37:13 "Whether for correction, or for His world, Or for lovingkindness, He causes it to happen.(nas) Job 37:13 ἐὰν εἰς παιδείαν ἐὰν εἰς τὴν γῆν αὐτοῦ ἐὰν εἰς ἔλεος εὑρήσει αὐτόν (lxx) Job 37:13 sive in una tribu, sive in terra sua, sive in quocumque loco misericordiæ suæ eas jusserit inveniri.(vulgate) 13 ׃37 אִם־לְשֵׁ֥בֶט אִם־לְאַרְצ֑וֹ אִם־לְ֝חֶ֗סֶד יַמְצִאֵֽהוּ׃ Job Job 37:13 es sei zur Züchtigung über ein Land oder zur Gnade, läßt er sie kommen.(dhs) Job 37:13 He causes it to come, Whether for correction, Or for His land, Or for mercy.(nkjv) ======= Job 37:14 ============ Job 37:14 "Listen to this, O Job, Stand and consider the wonders of God.(nas) Job 37:14 ἐνωτίζου ταῦτα Ιωβ στῆθι νουθετοῦ δύναμιν κυρίου (lxx) Job 37:14 Ausculta hæc, Job: sta, et considera mirabilia Dei.(vulgate) 14 ׃37 הַאֲזִ֣ינָה זֹּ֣את אִיּ֑וֹב עֲ֝מֹ֗ד וְהִתְבּוֹנֵ֤ן ׀ נִפְלְא֬וֹת אֵֽל׃ Job Job 37:14 Da merke auf, Hiob, stehe und vernimm die Wunder Gottes!(dhs) Job 37:14 "Listen to this, O Job; Stand still and consider the wondrous works of God.(nkjv) ======= Job 37:15 ============ Job 37:15 "Do you know how God establishes them, And makes the lightning of His cloud to shine?(nas) Job 37:15 οἴδαμεν ὅτι ὁ θεὸς ἔθετο ἔργα αὐτοῦ φῶς ποιήσας ἐκ σκότους (lxx) Job 37:15 Numquid scis quando præceperit Deus pluviis, ut ostenderent lucem nubium ejus?(vulgate) 15 ׃37 הֲ֭תֵדַע בְּשׂוּם־אֱל֣וֹהַּ עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם וְ֝הוֹפִ֗יעַ א֣וֹר עֲנָנֽוֹ׃ Job Job 37:15 Weißt du wie Gott solches über sie bringt und wie er das Licht aus seinen Wolken läßt hervorbrechen?(dhs) Job 37:15 Do you know when God dispatches them, And causes the light of His cloud to shine?(nkjv) ======= Job 37:16 ============ Job 37:16 "Do you know about the layers of the thick clouds, The wonders of one perfect in knowledge,(nas) Job 37:16 ἐπίσταται δὲ διάκρισιν νεφῶν ἐξαίσια δὲ πτώματα πονηρῶν (lxx) Job 37:16 Numquid nosti semitas nubium magnas, et perfectas scientias?(vulgate) 16 ׃37 הֲ֭תֵדַע עַל־מִפְלְשֵׂי־עָ֑ב מִ֝פְלְא֗וֹת תְּמִ֣ים דֵּעִֽים׃ Job Job 37:16 Weißt du wie sich die Wolken ausstreuen, die Wunder des, der vollkommen ist an Wissen?(dhs) Job 37:16 Do you know how the clouds are balanced, Those wondrous works of Him who is perfect in knowledge?(nkjv) ======= Job 37:17 ============ Job 37:17 You whose garments are hot, When the land is still because of the south wind?(nas) Job 37:17 σοῦ δὲ ἡ στολὴ θερμή ἡσυχάζεται δὲ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς (lxx) Job 37:17 Nonne vestimenta tua calida sunt, cum perflata fuerit terra austro?(vulgate) 17 ׃37 אֲשֶׁר־בְּגָדֶ֥יךָ חַמִּ֑ים בְּהַשְׁקִ֥ט אֶ֝֗רֶץ מִדָּרֽוֹם׃ Job Job 37:17 Du, des Kleider warm sind, wenn das Land still ist vom Mittagswinde,(dhs) Job 37:17 Why are your garments hot, When He quiets the earth by the south wind?(nkjv) ======= Job 37:18 ============ Job 37:18 "Can you, with Him, spread out the skies, Strong as a molten mirror?(nas) Job 37:18 στερεώσεις μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ εἰς παλαιώματα ἰσχυραὶ ὡς ὅρασις ἐπιχύσεως (lxx) Job 37:18 Tu forsitan cum eo fabricatus es cælos, qui solidissimi quasi ære fusi sunt.(vulgate) 18 ׃37 תַּרְקִ֣יעַ עִ֭מּוֹ לִשְׁחָקִ֑ים חֲ֝זָקִ֗ים כִּרְאִ֥י מוּצָֽק׃ Job Job 37:18 ja, du wirst mit ihm den Himmel ausbreiten, der fest ist wie ein gegossener Spiegel.(dhs) Job 37:18 With Him, have you spread out the skies, Strong as a cast metal mirror?(nkjv) ======= Job 37:19 ============ Job 37:19 "Teach us what we shall say to Him; We cannot arrange our case because of darkness.(nas) Job 37:19 διὰ τί δίδαξόν με τί ἐροῦμεν αὐτῷ καὶ παυσώμεθα πολλὰ λέγοντες (lxx) Job 37:19 Ostende nobis quid dicamus illi: nos quippe involvimur tenebris.(vulgate) 19 ׃37 ה֭וֹדִיעֵנוּ מַה־נֹּ֣אמַר ל֑וֹ לֹֽ[m]א־נַ֝עֲרֹ֗ךְ מִפְּנֵי־חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ Job Job 37:19 Zeige uns, was wir ihm sagen sollen; denn wir können nichts vorbringen vor Finsternis.(dhs) Job 37:19 "Teach us what we should say to Him, For we can prepare nothing because of the darkness.(nkjv) ======= Job 37:20 ============ Job 37:20 "Shall it be told Him that I would speak? Or should a man say that he would be swallowed up?(nas) Job 37:20 μὴ βίβλος ἢ γραμματεύς μοι παρέστηκεν ἵνα ἄνθρωπον ἑστηκὼς κατασιωπήσω (lxx) Job 37:20 Quis narrabit ei quæ loquor? etiam si locutus fuerit homo, devorabitur.(vulgate) 20 ׃37 הֽ͏ַיְסֻפַּר־ל֖[d]וֹ כִּ֣י אֲדַבֵּ֑ר אִֽם־אָ֥מַר אִ֝֗ישׁ כִּ֣י יְבֻלָּֽע׃ Job Job 37:20 Wer wird ihm erzählen, daß ich wolle reden? So jemand redet, der wird verschlungen.(dhs) Job 37:20 Should He be told that I wish to speak? If a man were to speak, surely he would be swallowed up.(nkjv) ======= Job 37:21 ============ Job 37:21 "Now men do not see the light which is bright in the skies; But the wind has passed and cleared them.(nas) Job 37:21 πᾶσιν δ᾽ οὐχ ὁρατὸν τὸ φῶς τηλαυγές ἐστιν ἐν τοῖς παλαιώμασιν ὥσπερ τὸ παρ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ νεφῶν (lxx) Job 37:21 At nunc non vident lucem: subito aër cogetur in nubes, et ventus transiens fugabit eas.(vulgate) 21 ׃37 וְעַתָּ֤ה ׀ לֹ֘א רָ֤אוּ א֗וֹר בָּהִ֣יר ה֭וּא בַּשְּׁחָקִ֑ים וְר֥וּחַ עָ֝בְרָ֗ה וַֽתְּטַהֲרֵֽם׃ Job Job 37:21 Jetzt sieht man das Licht nicht, das am Himmel hell leuchtet; wenn aber der Wind weht, so wird's klar.(dhs) Job 37:21 Even now men cannot look at the light when it is bright in the skies, When the wind has passed and cleared them.(nkjv) ======= Job 37:22 ============ Job 37:22 "Out of the north comes golden splendor; Around God is awesome majesty.(nas) Job 37:22 ἀπὸ βορρᾶ νέφη χρυσαυγοῦντα ἐπὶ τούτοις μεγάλη ἡ δόξα καὶ τιμὴ παντοκράτορος (lxx) Job 37:22 Ab aquilone aurum venit, et ad Deum formidolosa laudatio.(vulgate) 22 ׃37 מִ֭צָּפוֹן זָהָ֣ב יֶֽאֱתֶ֑ה עַל־אֱ֝ל֗וֹהַּ נ֣וֹרָא הֽוֹד׃ Job Job 37:22 Von Mitternacht kommt Gold; um Gott her ist schrecklicher Glanz.(dhs) Job 37:22 He comes from the north as golden splendor; With God is awesome majesty.(nkjv) ======= Job 37:23 ============ Job 37:23 "The Almighty--we cannot find Him; He is exalted in power And He will not do violence to justice and abundant righteousness.(nas) Job 37:23 καὶ οὐχ εὑρίσκομεν ἄλλον ὅμοιον τῇ ἰσχύι αὐτοῦ ὁ τὰ δίκαια κρίνων οὐκ οἴει ἐπακούειν αὐτόν (lxx) Job 37:23 Digne eum invenire non possumus: magnus fortitudine, et judicio, et justitia: et enarrari non potest.(vulgate) 23 ׃37 שַׁדַּ֣י לֹֽא־מְ֭צָאנֻהוּ שַׂגִּיא־כֹ֑חַ וּמִשְׁפָּ֥ט וְרֹב־צְ֝דָקָ֗ה לֹ֣א יְעַנֶּֽה׃ Job Job 37:23 Den Allmächtigen aber können wir nicht finden, der so groß ist von Kraft; das Recht und eine gute Sache beugt er nicht.(dhs) Job 37:23 As for the Almighty, we cannot find Him; He is excellent in power, In judgment and abundant justice; He does not oppress.(nkjv) ======= Job 37:24 ============ Job 37:24 "Therefore men fear Him; He does not regard any who are wise of heart."(nas) Job 37:24 διὸ φοβηθήσονται αὐτὸν οἱ ἄνθρωποι φοβηθήσονται δὲ αὐτὸν καὶ οἱ σοφοὶ καρδίᾳ (lxx) Job 37:24 Ideo timebunt eum viri, et non audebunt contemplari omnes qui sibi videntur esse sapientes.](vulgate) 24 ׃37 לָ֭כֵן יְרֵא֣וּהוּ אֲנָשִׁ֑ים לֹֽא־יִ֝רְאֶ֗ה כָּל־חַכְמֵי־לֵֽב׃ פ Job Job 37:24 Darum müssen ihn fürchten die Leute; und er sieht keinen an, wie weise sie sind.(dhs) Job 37:24 Therefore men fear Him; He shows no partiality to any who are wise of heart."(nkjv) ======= Job 38:1 ============ top of the page
