Do you judge uprightly, you sons of men?(nkjv) ======= Psalm 58:2 ============ Psa 58:2 No, in heart you work unrighteousness; On earth you weigh out the violence of your hands.(nas) Psa 58:2 εἰ ἀληθῶς ἄρα δικαιοσύνην λαλεῖτε εὐθεῖα κρίνετε οἱ υἱοὶ τῶν ἀνθρώπων (lxx) Psa 58:2 [Vulgate 57:3] etenim in corde iniquitates operamini in terra iniquitatis manus vestras adpendite(vulgate) 3 ׃58 אַף־בְּלֵב֮ עוֹלֹ֢ת תִּפְעָ֫ל֥וּן בָּאָ֡רֶץ חֲמַ֥ס יְ֝דֵיכֶ֗ם תְּפַלֵּֽסֽוּן׃ Psalms Psa 58:2 Ja, mutwillig tut ihr Unrecht im Lande und gehet stracks durch, mit euren Händen zu freveln.(dhs) Psa 58:2 No, in heart you work wickedness; You weigh out the violence of your hands in the earth.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 58:3 ============ Psa 58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb; These who speak lies go astray from birth.(nas) Psa 58:3 καὶ γὰρ ἐν καρδίᾳ ἀνομίας ἐργάζεσθε ἐν τῇ γῇ ἀδικίαν αἱ χεῖρες ὑμῶν συμπλέκουσιν (lxx) Psa 58:3 [Vulgate 57:4] alienati sunt peccatores a vulva erraverunt ab utero loquentes mendacium(vulgate) 4 ׃58 זֹ֣רוּ רְשָׁעִ֣ים מֵרָ֑חֶם תָּע֥וּ מִ֝בֶּ֗טֶן דֹּבְרֵ֥י כָזָֽב׃ Psalms Psa 58:3 Die Gottlosen sind verkehrt von Mutterschoß an; die Lügner irren von Mutterleib an.(dhs) Psa 58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb; They go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 58:4 ============ Psa 58:4 They have venom like the venom of a serpent; Like a deaf cobra that stops up its ear,(nas) Psa 58:4 ἀπηλλοτριώθησαν οἱ ἁμαρτωλοὶ ἀπὸ μήτρας ἐπλανήθησαν ἀπὸ γαστρός ἐλάλησαν ψεύδη (lxx) Psa 58:4 [Vulgate 57:5] furor eorum sicut furor serpentis sicut reguli surdi obturantis aurem suam(vulgate) 5 ׃58 חֲמַת־לָ֗מוֹ כִּדְמ֥וּת חֲמַת־נָחָ֑שׁ כְּמוֹ־פֶ֥תֶן חֵ֝רֵ֗שׁ יַאְטֵ֥ם אָזְנֽוֹ׃ Psalms Psa 58:4 Ihr Wüten ist gleichwie das Wüten einer Schlange, wie die taube Otter, die ihr Ohr zustopft,(dhs) Psa 58:4 Their poison is like the poison of a serpent; They are like the deaf cobra that stops its ear,(nkjv) ======= Psalm 58:5 ============ Psa 58:5 So that it does not hear the voice of charmers, Or a skillful caster of spells.(nas) Psa 58:5 θυμὸς αὐτοῖς κατὰ τὴν ὁμοίωσιν τοῦ ὄφεως ὡσεὶ ἀσπίδος κωφῆς καὶ βυούσης τὰ ὦτα αὐτῆς (lxx) Psa 58:5 [Vulgate 57:6] ut non audiat vocem murmurantium nec incantatoris incantationes callidas(vulgate) 6 ׃58 אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹא־יִ֭שְׁמַע לְק֣וֹל מְלַחֲשִׁ֑ים חוֹבֵ֖ר חֲבָרִ֣ים מְחֻכָּֽם׃ Psalms Psa 58:5 daß sie nicht höre die Stimme des Zauberers, des Beschwörers, der wohl beschwören kann.(dhs) Psa 58:5 Which will not heed the voice of charmers, Charming ever so skillfully.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 58:6 ============ Psa 58:6 O God, shatter their teeth in their mouth; Break out the fangs of the young lions, O Lord.(nas) Psa 58:6 ἥτις οὐκ εἰσακούσεται φωνὴν ἐπᾳδόντων φαρμάκου τε φαρμακευομένου παρὰ σοφοῦ (lxx) Psa 58:6 [Vulgate 57:7] Deus excute dentes eorum ex ore eorum molares leonum confringe Domine(vulgate) 7 ׃58 אֱֽלֹהִ֗ים הֲרָס־שִׁנֵּ֥ימוֹ בְּפִ֑ימוֹ מַלְתְּע֥וֹת כְּ֝פִירִ֗ים נְתֹ֣ץ ׀ יְהוָֽה׃ Psalms Psa 58:6 Gott, zerbrich ihre Zähne in ihrem Maul; zerstoße, HERR, das Gebiß der jungen Löwen!(dhs) Psa 58:6 Break their teeth in their mouth, O God! Break out the fangs of the young lions, O Lord!(nkjv) ======= Psalm 58:7 ============ Psa 58:7 Let them flow away like water that runs off; When he aims his arrows, let them be as headless shafts.(nas) Psa 58:7 ὁ θεὸς συνέτριψεν τοὺς ὀδόντας αὐτῶν ἐν τῷ στόματι αὐτῶν τὰς μύλας τῶν λεόντων συνέθλασεν κύριος (lxx) Psa 58:7 [Vulgate 57:8] dissolvantur quasi aquae quae defluent intendet arcum suum donec conterantur(vulgate) 8 ׃58 יִמָּאֲס֣וּ כְמוֹ־מַ֭יִם יִתְהַלְּכוּ־לָ֑מוֹ יִדְרֹ֥ךְ *חצו **חִ֝צָּ֗יו כְּמ֣וֹ יִתְמֹלָֽלוּ׃ Psalms Psa 58:7 Sie werden zergehen wie Wasser, das dahinfließt. Sie zielen mit ihren Pfeilen; aber dieselben zerbrechen.(dhs) Psa 58:7 Let them flow away as waters which run continually; When he bends his bow, Let his arrows be as if cut in pieces.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 58:8 ============ Psa 58:8 Let them be as a snail which melts away as it goes along, Like the miscarriages of a woman which never see the sun.(nas) Psa 58:8 ἐξουδενωθήσονται ὡς ὕδωρ διαπορευόμενον ἐντενεῖ τὸ τόξον αὐτοῦ ἕως οὗ ἀσθενήσουσιν (lxx) Psa 58:8 [Vulgate 57:9] quasi vermis tabefactus pertranseant quasi abortivum mulieris quod non vidit solem(vulgate) 9 ׃58 כְּמ֣וֹ שַׁ֭בְּלוּל תֶּ֣מֶס יַהֲלֹ֑ךְ נֵ֥פֶל אֵ֝֗שֶׁת בַּל־חָ֥זוּ שָֽׁמֶשׁ׃ Psalms Psa 58:8 Sie vergehen wie die Schnecke verschmachtet; wie eine unzeitige Geburt eines Weibes sehen sie die Sonne nicht.(dhs) Psa 58:8 Let them be like a snail which melts away as it goes, Like a stillborn child of a woman, that they may not see the sun.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 58:9 ============ Psa 58:9 Before your pots can feel the fire of thorns He will sweep them away with a whirlwind, the green and the burning alike.(nas) Psa 58:9 ὡσεὶ κηρὸς ὁ τακεὶς ἀνταναιρεθήσονται ἐπέπεσε πῦρ καὶ οὐκ εἶδον τὸν ἥλιον (lxx) Psa 58:9 [Vulgate 57:10] antequam crescant spinae vestrae in ramnum quasi viventes quasi in ira tempestas rapiet eas(vulgate) 10 ׃58 בְּטֶ֤רֶם יָבִ֣ינוּ סִּֽירֹתֵיכֶ֣ם אָטָ֑ד כְּמוֹ־חַ֥י כְּמוֹ־חָ֝ר֗וֹן יִשְׂעָרֶֽנּוּ׃ Psalms Psa 58:9 Ehe eure Dornen reif werden am Dornstrauch, wird sie ein Zorn so frisch wegreißen.(dhs) Psa 58:9 Before your pots can feel the burning thorns, He shall take them away as with a whirlwind, As in His living and burning wrath.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 58:10 ============ Psa 58:10 The righteous will rejoice when he sees the vengeance; He will wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.(nas) Psa 58:10 πρὸ τοῦ συνιέναι τὰς ἀκάνθας ὑμῶν τὴν ῥάμνον ὡσεὶ ζῶντας ὡσεὶ ἐν ὀργῇ καταπίεται ὑμᾶς (lxx) Psa 58:10 [Vulgate 57:11] laetabitur iustus cum viderit ultionem pedes suos lavabit in sanguinem impii(vulgate) 11 ׃58 יִשְׂמַ֣ח צַ֭דִּיק כִּי־חָזָ֣ה נָקָ֑ם פְּעָמָ֥יו יִ֝רְחַ֗ץ בְּדַ֣ם הָרָשָֽׁע׃ Psalms Psa 58:10 Der Gerechte wird sich freuen, wenn er solche Rache sieht, und wird seine Füße baden in des Gottlosen Blut,(dhs) Psa 58:10 The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance; He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked,(nkjv) ======= Psalm 58:11 ============ Psa 58:11 And men will say, "Surely there is a reward for the righteous; Surely there is a God who judges on earth!"(nas) Psa 58:11 καὶ ἐρεῖ ἄνθρωπος εἰ ἄρα ἔστιν καρπὸς τῷ δικαίῳ ἄρα ἐστὶν ὁ θεὸς κρίνων αὐτοὺς ἐν τῇ γῇ (lxx) Psa 58:11 [Vulgate 57:12] et dicet homo vere fructus est iusto vere est Deus iudicans in terra(vulgate) 12 ׃58 וְיֹאמַ֣ר אָ֭דָם אַךְ־פְּרִ֣י לַצַּדִּ֑יק אַ֥ךְ יֵשׁ־אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים שֹׁפְטִ֥ים בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ Psalms Psa 58:11 daß die Leute werden sagen: Der Gerechte wird ja seiner Frucht genießen; es ist ja noch Gott Richter auf Erden.(dhs) Psa 58:11 So that men will say, "Surely there is a reward for the righteous; Surely He is God who judges in the earth."(nkjv) ======= Psalm 59:1 ============ top of the page
