Today's Date: ======= Ezekiel 18:1 ============ Eze 18:1 The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,(KJV) Ezekiel 18:1 The worde of the Lord came vnto me againe, saying,(Geneva) Ézéchiel 18:1 La parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:(FR) 1 ׃18 וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃ Ezekiel Eze 18:1 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 18:2 ============ Eze 18:2 What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge?(KJV) Ezekiel 18:2 What meane ye that ye speake this prouerbe, concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers haue eaten sowre grapes, and the childrens teeth are set on edge?(Geneva) Ézéchiel 18:2 Pourquoi dites-vous ce proverbe dans le pays d'Israël: Les pères ont mangé des raisins verts, et les dents des enfants en ont été agacées?(FR) 2 ׃18 מַה־לָּכֶ֗ם אַתֶּם֙ מֹֽשְׁלִים֙ אֶת־הַמָּשָׁ֣ל הַזֶּ֔ה עַל־אַדְמַ֥ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר אָבוֹת֙ יֹ֣אכְלוּ בֹ֔סֶר וְשִׁנֵּ֥י הַבָּנִ֖ים תִּקְהֶֽינָה׃ Ezekiel Eze 18:2 "What do you mean by using this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, 'The fathers eat the sour grapes, But the children's teeth are set on edge'? (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 18:3 ============ Eze 18:3 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel.(KJV) Ezekiel 18:3 As I liue, sayth the Lord God, ye shall vse this prouerbe no more in Israel.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 18:3 Je suis vivant! dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel, vous n'aurez plus lieu de dire ce proverbe en Israël.(FR) 3 ׃18 חַי־אָ֕נִי נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה אִם־יִֽהְיֶ֨ה לָכֶ֜ם ע֗וֹד מְשֹׁ֛ל הַמָּשָׁ֥ל הַזֶּ֖ה בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Ezekiel Eze 18:3 As I live," declares the Lord God, "you are surely not going to use this proverb in Israel anymore. (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 18:4 ============ Eze 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.(KJV) Ezekiel 18:4 Beholde, all soules are mine, both the soule of the father, and also the soule of the sonne are mine: the soule that sinneth, it shall die.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 18:4 Voici, toutes les âmes sont à moi; l'âme du fils comme l'âme du père, l'une et l'autre sont à moi; l'âme qui pèche, c'est celle qui mourra.(FR) 4 ׃18 הֵ֤ן כָּל־הַנְּפָשׁוֹת֙ לִ֣י הֵ֔נָּה כְּנֶ֧פֶשׁ הָאָ֛ב וּכְנֶ֥פֶשׁ הַבֵּ֖ן לִי־הֵ֑נָּה הַנֶּ֥פֶשׁ הַחֹטֵ֖את הִ֥יא תָמֽוּת׃ ס Ezekiel Eze 18:4 Behold, all souls are Mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine. The soul who sins will die. (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 18:5 ============ Eze 18:5 But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right,(KJV) Ezekiel 18:5 But if a man be iust, and doe that which is lawfull, and right,(Geneva) Ézéchiel 18:5 L'homme qui est juste, qui pratique la droiture et la justice,(FR) 5 ׃18 וְאִ֖ישׁ כִּי־יִהְיֶ֣ה צַדִּ֑יק וְעָשָׂ֥ה מִשְׁפָּ֖ט וּצְדָקָֽה׃ Ezekiel Eze 18:5 "But if a man is righteous and practices justice and righteousness, (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 18:6 ============ Eze 18:6 And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbour's wife, neither hath come near to a menstruous woman,(KJV) Ezekiel 18:6 And hath not eaten vpon the mountaines, neither hath lift vp his eyes to the idoles of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbours wife, neither hath lyen with a menstruous woman,(Geneva) Ézéchiel 18:6 qui ne mange pas sur les montagnes et ne lève pas les yeux vers les idoles de la maison d'Israël, qui ne déshonore pas la femme de son prochain et ne s'approche pas d'une femme pendant son impureté,(FR) 6 ׃18 אֶל־הֶֽהָרִים֙ לֹ֣א אָכָ֔ל וְעֵינָיו֙ לֹ֣א נָשָׂ֔א אֶל־גִּלּוּלֵ֖י בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְאֶת־אֵ֤שֶׁת רֵעֵ֙הוּ֙ לֹ֣א טִמֵּ֔א וְאֶל־אִשָּׁ֥ה נִדָּ֖ה לֹ֥א יִקְרָֽב׃ Ezekiel Eze 18:6 and does not eat at the mountain shrines or lift up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, or defile his neighbor's wife or approach a woman during her menstrual period--(nasb) ======= Ezekiel 18:7 ============ Eze 18:7 And hath not oppressed any, but hath restored to the debtor his pledge, hath spoiled none by violence, hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment;(KJV) Ezekiel 18:7 Neither hath oppressed any, but hath restored the pledge to his dettour: he that hath spoyled none by violence, but hath giuen his bread to the hungry, and hath couered the naked with a garment,(Geneva) Ézéchiel 18:7 qui n'opprime personne, qui rend au débiteur son gage, qui ne commet point de rapines, qui donne son pain à celui qui a faim et couvre d'un vêtement celui qui est nu,(FR) 7 ׃18 וְאִישׁ֙ לֹ֣א יוֹנֶ֔ה חֲבֹלָת֥וֹ חוֹב֙ יָשִׁ֔יב גְּזֵלָ֖ה לֹ֣א יִגְזֹ֑ל לַחְמוֹ֙ לְרָעֵ֣ב יִתֵּ֔ן וְעֵירֹ֖ם יְכַסֶּה־בָּֽגֶד׃ Ezekiel Eze 18:7 if a man does not oppress anyone, but restores to the debtor his pledge, does not commit robbery, but gives his bread to the hungry and covers the naked with clothing, (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 18:8 ============ Eze 18:8 He that hath not given forth upon usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man,(KJV) Ezekiel 18:8 And hath not giuen foorth vpon vsurie, neither hath taken any increase, but hath withdrawen his hand from iniquitie, and hath executed true iudgement betweene man and man,(Geneva) Ézéchiel 18:8 qui ne prête pas à intérêt et ne tire point d'usure, qui détourne sa main de l'iniquité et juge selon la vérité entre un homme et un autre,(FR) 8 ׃18 בַּנֶּ֣שֶׁךְ לֹֽא־יִתֵּ֗ן וְתַרְבִּית֙ לֹ֣א יִקָּ֔ח מֵעָ֖וֶל יָשִׁ֣יב יָד֑וֹ מִשְׁפַּ֤ט אֱמֶת֙ יַֽעֲשֶׂ֔ה בֵּ֥ין אִ֖ישׁ לְאִֽישׁ׃ Ezekiel Eze 18:8 if he does not lend money on interest or take increase, if he keeps his hand from iniquity and executes true justice between man and man, (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 18:9 ============ Eze 18:9 Hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord GOD.(KJV) Ezekiel 18:9 And hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my iudgements to deale truely, he is iust, he shall surely liue, sayth the Lord God.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 18:9 qui suit mes lois et observe mes ordonnances en agissant avec fidélité, celui-là est juste, il vivra, dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel.(FR) 9 ׃18 בְּחֻקּוֹתַ֧י יְהַלֵּ֛ךְ וּמִשְׁפָּטַ֥י שָׁמַ֖ר לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת אֱמֶ֑ת צַדִּ֥יק הוּא֙ חָיֹ֣ה יִֽחְיֶ֔ה נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃ Ezekiel Eze 18:9 if he walks in My statutes and My ordinances so as to deal faithfully--he is righteous and will surely live," declares the Lord God. (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 18:10 ============ Eze 18:10 If he beget a son that is a robber, a shedder of blood, and that doeth the like to any one of these things,(KJV) Ezekiel 18:10 If he beget a sonne, that is a thiefe, or a sheader of blood, if he do any one of these things,(Geneva) Ézéchiel 18:10 S'il a un fils qui soit violent, qui répande le sang, ou qui commette quelque chose de semblable;(FR) 10 ׃18 וְהוֹלִ֥יד בֵּן־פָּרִ֖יץ שֹׁפֵ֣ךְ דָּ֑ם וְעָ֣שָׂה אָ֔ח מֵאַחַ֖ד מֵאֵֽלֶּה׃ Ezekiel Eze 18:10 "Then he may have a violent son who sheds blood and who does any of these things to a brother(nasb) ======= Ezekiel 18:11 ============ Eze 18:11 And that doeth not any of those duties, but even hath eaten upon the mountains, and defiled his neighbour's wife,(KJV) Ezekiel 18:11 Though he doe not all these things, but either hath eaten vpon the mountaines, or defiled his neighbours wife,(Geneva) Ézéchiel 18:11 si ce fils n'imite en rien la conduite de son père, s'il mange sur les montagnes, s'il déshonore la femme de son prochain,(FR) 11 ׃18 וְה֕וּא אֶת־כָּל־אֵ֖לֶּה לֹ֣א עָשָׂ֑ה כִּ֣י גַ֤ם אֶל־הֶֽהָרִים֙ אָכַ֔ל וְאֶת־אֵ֥שֶׁת רֵעֵ֖הוּ טִמֵּֽא׃ Ezekiel Eze 18:11 (though he himself did not do any of these things), that is, he even eats at the mountain shrines, and defiles his neighbor's wife, (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 18:12 ============ Eze 18:12 Hath oppressed the poor and needy, hath spoiled by violence, hath not restored the pledge, and hath lifted up his eyes to the idols, hath committed abomination,(KJV) Ezekiel 18:12 Or hath oppressed the poore and needy, or hath spoyled by violence, or hath not restored the pledge, or hath lift vp his eyes vnto the idoles, or hath committed abomination,(Geneva) Ézéchiel 18:12 s'il opprime le malheureux et l'indigent, s'il commet des rapines, s'il ne rend pas le gage, s'il lève les yeux vers les idoles et fait des abominations,(FR) 12 ׃18 עָנִ֤י וְאֶבְיוֹן֙ הוֹנָ֔ה גְּזֵל֣וֹת גָּזָ֔ל חֲבֹ֖ל לֹ֣א יָשִׁ֑יב וְאֶל־הַגִּלּוּלִים֙ נָשָׂ֣א עֵינָ֔יו תּוֹעֵבָ֖ה עָשָֽׂה׃ Ezekiel Eze 18:12 oppresses the poor and needy, commits robbery, does not restore a pledge, but lifts up his eyes to the idols and commits abomination, (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 18:13 ============ Eze 18:13 Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.(KJV) Ezekiel 18:13 Or hath giuen forth vpon vsurie, or hath taken increase, shal he liue? he shal not liue: seeing he hath done all these abominations, he shal die the death, and his blood shall be vpon him.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 18:13 S'il prête à intérêt et tire une usure, ce fils-là vivrait! Il ne vivra pas; il a commis toutes ces abominations; qu'il meure! que son sang retombe sur lui!(FR) 13 ׃18 בַּנֶּ֧שֶׁךְ נָתַ֛ן וְתַרְבִּ֥ית לָקַ֖ח וָחָ֑י לֹ֣א יִֽחְיֶ֗ה אֵ֣ת כָּל־הַתּוֹעֵב֤וֹת הָאֵ֙לֶּה֙ עָשָׂ֔ה מ֣וֹת יוּמָ֔ת דָּמָ֖יו בּ֥וֹ יִהְיֶֽה׃ Ezekiel Eze 18:13 he lends money on interest and takes increase; will he live? He will not live! He has committed all these abominations, he will surely be put to death; his blood will be on his own head. (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 18:18 ============ Eze 18:18 As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, spoiled his brother by violence, and did that which is not good among his people, lo, even he shall die in his iniquity.(KJV) Ezekiel 18:18 His father, because he cruelly oppressed and spoyled his brother by violence, and hath not done good among his people, loe, euen he dyeth in his iniquitie.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 18:18 C'est son père, qui a été un oppresseur, qui a commis des rapines envers les autres, qui a fait au milieu de son peuple ce qui n'est pas bien, c'est lui qui mourra pour son iniquité.(FR) 18 ׃18 אָבִ֞יו כִּֽי־עָ֣שַׁק עֹ֗שֶׁק גָּזַל֙ גֵּ֣זֶל אָ֔ח וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־ט֛וֹב עָשָׂ֖ה בְּת֣וֹךְ עַמָּ֑יו וְהִנֵּה־מֵ֖ת בַּעֲוֺנֽוֹ׃ Ezekiel Eze 18:18 As for his father, because he practiced extortion, robbed his brother and did what was not good among his people, behold, he will die for his iniquity. (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 18:19 ============ Eze 18:19 Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.(KJV) Ezekiel 18:19 Yet say ye, Wherefore shall not the sonne beare the iniquitie of the father? because ye sonne hath executed iudgement & iustice, and hath kept all my statutes, and done them, he shal surely liue,(Geneva) Ézéchiel 18:19 Vous dites: Pourquoi le fils ne porte-t-il pas l'iniquité de son père? C'est que le fils a agi selon la droiture et la justice, c'est qu'il a observé et mis en pratique toutes mes lois; il vivra.(FR) 19 ׃18 וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֕ם מַדֻּ֛עַ לֹא־נָשָׂ֥א הַבֵּ֖ן בַּעֲוֺ֣ן הָאָ֑ב וְהַבֵּ֞ן מִשְׁפָּ֧ט וּצְדָקָ֣ה עָשָׂ֗ה אֵ֣ת כָּל־חֻקּוֹתַ֥י שָׁמַ֛ר וַיַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה אֹתָ֖ם חָיֹ֥ה יִחְיֶֽה׃ Ezekiel Eze 18:19 "Yet you say, 'Why should the son not bear the punishment for the father's iniquity? 'When the son has practiced justice and righteousness and has observed all My statutes and done them, he shall surely live. (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 18:20 ============ Eze 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.(KJV) Ezekiel 18:20 The same soule that sinneth, shal die: the sonne shall not beare the iniquitie of the father, neither shall the father beare the iniquitie of the sonne, but the righteousnes of the righteous shall be vpon him, and the wickednesse of the wicked shall be vpon him selfe.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 18:20 L'âme qui pèche, c'est celle qui mourra. Le fils ne portera pas l'iniquité de son père, et le père ne portera pas l'iniquité de son fils. La justice du juste sera sur lui, et la méchanceté du méchant sera sur lui.(FR) 20 ׃18 הַנֶּ֥פֶשׁ הַחֹטֵ֖את הִ֣יא תָמ֑וּת בֵּ֞ן לֹא־יִשָּׂ֣א ׀ בַּעֲוֺ֣ן הָאָ֗ב וְאָב֙ לֹ֤א יִשָּׂא֙ בַּעֲוֺ֣ן הַבֵּ֔ן צִדְקַ֤ת הַצַּדִּיק֙ עָלָ֣יו תִּֽהְיֶ֔ה וְרִשְׁעַ֥ת *רשע **הָרָשָׁ֖ע עָלָ֥יו תִּֽהְיֶֽה׃ ס Ezekiel Eze 18:20 The person who sins will die. The son will not bear the punishment for the father's iniquity, nor will the father bear the punishment for the son's iniquity; the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself. (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 18:21 ============ Eze 18:21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.(KJV) Ezekiel 18:21 But if the wicked will returne from all his sinnes that he hath committed, and keepe all my statutes, and doe that which is lawfull & right, he shall surely liue, and shall not die.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 18:21 Si le méchant revient de tous les péchés qu'il a commis, s'il observe toutes mes lois et pratique la droiture et la justice, il vivra, il ne mourra pas.(FR) 21 ׃18 וְהָרָשָׁ֗ע כִּ֤י יָשׁוּב֙ מִכָּל־*חטאתו **חַטֹּאתָיו֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֔ה וְשָׁמַר֙ אֶת־כָּל־חֻקּוֹתַ֔י וְעָשָׂ֥ה מִשְׁפָּ֖ט וּצְדָקָ֑ה חָיֹ֥ה יִחְיֶ֖ה לֹ֥א יָמֽוּת׃ Ezekiel Eze 18:21 "But if the wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed and observes all My statutes and practices justice and righteousness, he shall surely live; he shall not die. (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 18:22 ============ Eze 18:22 All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.(KJV) Ezekiel 18:22 All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shal not be mentioned vnto him, but in his righteousnes that he hath done, he shall liue.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 18:22 Toutes les transgressions qu'il a commises seront oubliées; il vivra, à cause de la justice qu'il a pratiquée.(FR) 22 ׃18 כָּל־פְּשָׁעָיו֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֔ה לֹ֥א יִזָּכְר֖וּ ל֑וֹ בְּצִדְקָת֥וֹ אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂ֖ה יִֽחְיֶֽה׃ Ezekiel Eze 18:22 All his transgressions which he has committed will not be remembered against him; because of his righteousness which he has practiced, he will live.
