She has become a dwelling place of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,(KJV) Revelation 18:17 For in one houre so great riches are come to desolation; euery shipmaster, and all the people that occupie shippes, and shipmen, and whosoeuer traffike on the sea, shall stand a farre off,(Geneva) Apocalypse 18:17 En une seule heure tant de richesses ont été détruites! La grande ville, où se sont enrichis par son opulence tous ceux qui ont des navires sur la mer, en une seule heure elle a été détruite!(FR) וַיִּזְרְקוּ עָפָר עַל־רָאשֵׁיהֶם וַיִּזְעֲקוּ בִּבְכִי וְאֵבֶל לֵאמֹר אַלְלַי לַקִּרְיָה הַגְּדוֹלָה מֵחֵיל עָשְׁרָהּ הֶעֱשִׁירוּ כָּל־בַּעֲלֵי אֳנִיּוֹת בַּיָּם וְעַתָּה הֲפוּכָה הִיא כְּמוֹ־רָגַע׃ יט Revelation Rev 18:19 And they threw dust on their heads and were crying out, weeping and mourning, saying, 'Woe, woe, the great city, in which all who had ships at sea became rich by her wealth, for in one hour she has been laid waste!'(nasb) ======= Revelation 18:20 ============ Rev 18:20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.(KJV) Revelation 18:20 O heauen, reioyce of her, and ye holy Apostles and Prophets: for God hath punished her to be reuenged on her for your sakes.(Geneva) Apocalypse 18:20 Ciel, réjouis-toi sur elle!
