Today's Date: Job 12:25 They grope in the dark without light, And He makes them stagger like a drunken man.(nkjv) ======= Job 13:1 ============ Job 13:1 "Behold, my eye has seen all this, My ear has heard and understood it.(nas) Job 13:1 ἰδοὺ ταῦτα ἑώρακέν μου ὁ ὀφθαλμὸς καὶ ἀκήκοέν μου τὸ οὖς (lxx) Job 13:1 [Ecce omnia hæc vidit oculus meus, et audivit auris mea, et intellexi singula.(vulgate) 1 ׃13 הֶן־כֹּ֭ל רָאֲתָ֣ה עֵינִ֑י שָֽׁמְעָ֥ה אָ֝זְנִ֗י וַתָּ֥בֶן לָֽהּ׃ Job Job 13:1 Siehe, das alles hat mein Auge gesehen und mein Ohr gehört, und ich habe es verstanden.(dhs) Job 13:1 "Behold, my eye has seen all this, My ear has heard and understood it.(nkjv) ======= Job 13:2 ============ Job 13:2 "What you know I also know; I am not inferior to you.(nas) Job 13:2 καὶ οἶδα ὅσα καὶ ὑμεῖς ἐπίστασθε καὶ οὐκ ἀσυνετώτερός εἰμι ὑμῶν (lxx) Job 13:2 Secundum scientiam vestram et ego novi: nec inferior vestri sum.(vulgate) 2 ׃13 כְּֽ֭דַעְתְּכֶם יָדַ֣עְתִּי גַם־אָ֑נִי לֹא־נֹפֵ֖ל אָנֹכִ֣י מִכֶּֽם׃ Job Job 13:2 Was ihr wißt, das weiß ich auch; und bin nicht geringer denn ihr.(dhs) Job 13:2 What you know, I also know; I am not inferior to you.(nkjv) ======= Job 13:3 ============ Job 13:3 "But I would speak to the Almighty, And I desire to argue with God.(nas) Job 13:3 οὐ μὴν δὲ ἀλλ᾽ ἐγὼ πρὸς κύριον λαλήσω ἐλέγξω δὲ ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ ἐὰν βούληται (lxx) Job 13:3 Sed tamen ad Omnipotentem loquar, et disputare cum Deo cupio:(vulgate) 3 ׃13 אוּלָ֗ם אֲ֭נִי אֶל־שַׁדַּ֣י אֲדַבֵּ֑ר וְהוֹכֵ֖חַ אֶל־אֵ֣ל אֶחְפָּֽץ׃ Job Job 13:3 Doch wollte ich gern zu dem Allmächtigen reden und wollte gern mit Gott rechten.(dhs) Job 13:3 But I would speak to the Almighty, And I desire to reason with God.(nkjv) ======= Job 13:4 ============ Job 13:4 "But you smear with lies; You are all worthless physicians.(nas) Job 13:4 ὑμεῖς δέ ἐστε ἰατροὶ ἄδικοι καὶ ἰαταὶ κακῶν πάντες (lxx) Job 13:4 prius vos ostendens fabricatores mendacii, et cultores perversorum dogmatum.(vulgate) 4 ׃13 וְֽאוּלָ֗ם אַתֶּ֥ם טֹֽפְלֵי־שָׁ֑קֶר רֹפְאֵ֖י אֱלִ֣ל כֻּלְּכֶֽם׃ Job Job 13:4 Aber ihr deutet's fälschlich und seid alle unnütze Ärzte.(dhs) Job 13:4 But you forgers of lies, You are all worthless physicians.(nkjv) ======= Job 13:5 ============ Job 13:5 "O that you would be completely silent, And that it would become your wisdom!(nas) Job 13:5 εἴη δὲ ὑμῖν κωφεῦσαι καὶ ἀποβήσεται ὑμῖν εἰς σοφίαν (lxx) Job 13:5 Atque utinam taceretis, ut putaremini esse sapientes.(vulgate) 5 ׃13 מִֽי־יִ֭תֵּן הַחֲרֵ֣שׁ תַּחֲרִישׁ֑וּן וּתְהִ֖י לָכֶ֣ם לְחָכְמָֽה׃ Job Job 13:5 Wollte Gott, ihr schwieget, so wäret ihr weise.(dhs) Job 13:5 Oh, that you would be silent, And it would be your wisdom!(nkjv) ======= Job 13:6 ============ Job 13:6 "Please hear my argument And listen to the contentions of my lips.(nas) Job 13:6 ἀκούσατε ἔλεγχον στόματός μου κρίσιν δὲ χειλέων μου προσέχετε (lxx) Job 13:6 Audite ergo correptionem meam, et judicium labiorum meorum attendite.(vulgate) 6 ׃13 שִׁמְעוּ־נָ֥א תוֹכַחְתִּ֑י וְרִב֖וֹת שְׂפָתַ֣י הַקְשִֽׁיבוּ׃ Job Job 13:6 Höret doch meine Verantwortung und merket auf die Sache, davon ich rede!(dhs) Job 13:6 Now hear my reasoning, And heed the pleadings of my lips.(nkjv) ======= Job 13:7 ============ Job 13:7 "Will you speak what is unjust for God, And speak what is deceitful for Him?(nas) Job 13:7 πότερον οὐκ ἔναντι κυρίου λαλεῖτε ἔναντι δὲ αὐτοῦ φθέγγεσθε δόλον (lxx) Job 13:7 Numquid Deus indiget vestro mendacio, ut pro illo loquamini dolos?(vulgate) 7 ׃13 הַ֭לְאֵל תְּדַבְּר֣וּ עַוְלָ֑ה וְ֝ל֗וֹ תְּֽדַבְּר֥וּ רְמִיָּֽה׃ Job Job 13:7 Wollt ihr Gott verteidigen mit Unrecht und für ihn List brauchen?(dhs) Job 13:7 Will you speak wickedly for God, And talk deceitfully for Him?(nkjv) ======= Job 13:8 ============ Job 13:8 "Will you show partiality for Him? Will you contend for God?(nas) Job 13:8 ἦ ὑποστελεῖσθε ὑμεῖς δὲ αὐτοὶ κριταὶ γένεσθε (lxx) Job 13:8 numquid faciem ejus accipitis, et pro Deo judicare nitimini?(vulgate) 8 ׃13 הֲפָנָ֥יו תִּשָּׂא֑וּן אִם־לָאֵ֥ל תְּרִיבֽוּן׃ Job Job 13:8 Wollt ihr seine Person ansehen? Wollt ihr Gott vertreten?(dhs) Job 13:8 Will you show partiality for Him? Will you contend for God?(nkjv) ======= Job 13:9 ============ Job 13:9 "Will it be well when He examines you? Or will you deceive Him as one deceives a man?(nas) Job 13:9 καλόν γε ἐὰν ἐξιχνιάσῃ ὑμᾶς εἰ γὰρ τὰ πάντα ποιοῦντες προστεθήσεσθε αὐτῷ (lxx) Job 13:9 aut placebit ei quem celare nihil potest? aut decipietur, ut homo, vestris fraudulentiis?(vulgate) 9 ׃13 הֲ֭טוֹב כִּֽי־יַחְקֹ֣ר אֶתְכֶ֑ם אִם־כְּהָתֵ֥ל בֶּ֝אֱנ֗וֹשׁ תְּהָתֵ֥לּוּ בֽוֹ׃ Job Job 13:9 Wird's euch auch wohl gehen, wenn er euch richten wird? Meint ihr, daß ihr ihn täuschen werdet, wie man einen Menschen täuscht?(dhs) Job 13:9 Will it be well when He searches you out? Or can you mock Him as one mocks a man?(nkjv) ======= Job 13:10 ============ Job 13:10 "He will surely reprove you If you secretly show partiality.(nas) Job 13:10 οὐθὲν ἧττον ἐλέγξει ὑμᾶς εἰ δὲ καὶ κρυφῇ πρόσωπα θαυμάσετε (lxx) Job 13:10 Ipse vos arguet, quoniam in abscondito faciem ejus accipitis.(vulgate) 10 ׃13 הוֹכֵ֣חַ יוֹכִ֣יחַ אֶתְכֶ֑ם אִם־בַּ֝סֵּ֗תֶר פָּנִ֥ים תִּשָּׂאֽוּן׃ Job Job 13:10 Er wird euch strafen, wo ihr heimlich Person ansehet.(dhs) Job 13:10 He will surely rebuke you If you secretly show partiality.(nkjv) ======= Job 13:11 ============ Job 13:11 "Will not His majesty terrify you, And the dread of Him fall on you?(nas) Job 13:11 πότερον οὐχὶ δεινὰ αὐτοῦ στροβήσει ὑμᾶς φόβος δὲ παρ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἐπιπεσεῖται ὑμῖν (lxx) Job 13:11 Statim ut se commoverit, turbabit vos, et terror ejus irruet super vos.(vulgate) 11 ׃13 הֲלֹ֣א שְׂ֭אֵתוֹ תְּבַעֵ֣ת אֶתְכֶ֑ם וּ֝פַחְדּ֗וֹ יִפֹּ֥ל עֲלֵיכֶֽם׃ Job Job 13:11 Wird er euch nicht erschrecken, wenn er sich wird hervortun, und wird seine Furcht nicht über euch fallen?(dhs) Job 13:11 Will not His excellence make you afraid, And the dread of Him fall upon you?(nkjv) ======= Job 13:12 ============ Job 13:12 "Your memorable sayings are proverbs of ashes, Your defenses are defenses of clay.(nas) Job 13:12 ἀποβήσεται δὲ ὑμῶν τὸ ἀγαυρίαμα ἴσα σποδῷ τὸ δὲ σῶμα πήλινον (lxx) Job 13:12 Memoria vestra comparabitur cineri, et redigentur in lutum cervices vestræ.(vulgate) 12 ׃13 זִֽ֭כְרֹנֵיכֶם מִשְׁלֵי־אֵ֑פֶר לְגַבֵּי־חֹ֝֗מֶר גַּבֵּיכֶֽם׃ Job Job 13:12 Eure Denksprüche sind Aschensprüche; eure Bollwerke werden wie Lehmhaufen sein.(dhs) Job 13:12 Your platitudes are proverbs of ashes, Your defenses are defenses of clay.(nkjv) ======= Job 13:13 ============ Job 13:13 "Be silent before me so that I may speak; Then let come on me what may.(nas) Job 13:13 κωφεύσατε ἵνα λαλήσω καὶ ἀναπαύσωμαι θυμοῦ (lxx) Job 13:13 Tacete paulisper, ut loquar quodcumque mihi mens suggesserit.(vulgate) 13 ׃13 הַחֲרִ֣ישׁוּ מִ֭מֶּנִּי וַאֲדַבְּרָה־אָ֑נִי וְיַעֲבֹ֖ר עָלַ֣י מָֽה׃ Job Job 13:13 Schweiget mir, daß ich rede, es komme über mich, was da will.(dhs) Job 13:13 "Hold your peace with me, and let me speak, Then let come on me what may!(nkjv) ======= Job 13:14 ============ Job 13:14 "Why should I take my flesh in my teeth And put my life in my hands?(nas) Job 13:14 ἀναλαβὼν τὰς σάρκας μου τοῖς ὀδοῦσιν ψυχὴν δέ μου θήσω ἐν χειρί (lxx) Job 13:14 Quare lacero carnes meas dentibus meis, et animam meam porto in manibus meis?(vulgate) 14 ׃13 עַל־מָ֤ה ׀ אֶשָּׂ֣א בְשָׂרִ֣י בְשִׁנָּ֑י וְ֝נַפְשִׁ֗י אָשִׂ֥ים בְּכַפִּֽי׃ Job Job 13:14 Was soll ich mein Fleisch mit meinen Zähnen davontragen und meine Seele in meine Hände legen?(dhs) Job 13:14 Why do I take my flesh in my teeth, And put my life in my hands?(nkjv) ======= Job 13:15 ============ Job 13:15 "Though He slay me, I will hope in Him. Nevertheless I will argue my ways before Him.(nas) Job 13:15 ἐάν με χειρώσηται ὁ δυνάστης ἐπεὶ καὶ ἦρκται ἦ μὴν λαλήσω καὶ ἐλέγξω ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ (lxx) Job 13:15 Etiam si occiderit me, in ipso sperabo: verumtamen vias meas in conspectu ejus arguam.(vulgate) 15 ׃13 הֵ֣ן יִ֭קְטְלֵנִי *לא **ל֣וֹ אֲיַחֵ֑ל אַךְ־דְּ֝רָכַ֗י אֶל־פָּנָ֥יו אוֹכִֽיחַ׃ Job Job 13:15 Siehe, er wird mich doch erwürgen, und ich habe nichts zu hoffen; doch will ich meine Wege vor ihm verantworten.(dhs) Job 13:15 Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him.(nkjv) ======= Job 13:16 ============ Job 13:16 "This also will be my salvation, For a godless man may not come before His presence.(nas) Job 13:16 καὶ τοῦτό μοι ἀποβήσεται εἰς σωτηρίαν οὐ γὰρ ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ δόλος εἰσελεύσεται (lxx) Job 13:16 Et ipse erit salvator meus: non enim veniet in conspectu ejus omnis hypocrita.(vulgate) 16 ׃13 גַּם־הוּא־לִ֥י לִֽישׁוּעָ֑ה כִּי־לֹ֥א לְ֝פָנָ֗יו חָנֵ֥ף יָבֽוֹא׃ Job Job 13:16 Er wird ja mein Heil sein; denn es kommt kein Heuchler vor ihn.(dhs) Job 13:16 He also shall be my salvation, For a hypocrite could not come before Him.(nkjv) ======= Job 13:17 ============ Job 13:17 "Listen carefully to my speech, And let my declaration fill your ears.(nas) Job 13:17 ἀκούσατε ἀκούσατε τὰ ῥήματά μου ἀναγγελῶ γὰρ ὑμῶν ἀκουόντων (lxx) Job 13:17 Audite sermonem meum, et ænigmata percipite auribus vestris.(vulgate) 17 ׃13 שִׁמְע֣וּ שָׁ֭מוֹעַ מִלָּתִ֑י וְ֝אֽ͏ַחֲוָתִ֗י בְּאָזְנֵיכֶֽם׃ Job Job 13:17 Höret meine Rede, und meine Auslegung gehe ein zu euren Ohren.(dhs) Job 13:17 Listen carefully to my speech, And to my declaration with your ears.(nkjv) ======= Job 13:18 ============ Job 13:18 "Behold now, I have prepared my case; I know that I will be vindicated.(nas) Job 13:18 ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐγγύς εἰμι τοῦ κρίματός μου οἶδα ἐγὼ ὅτι δίκαιος ἀναφανοῦμαι (lxx) Job 13:18 Si fuero judicatus, scio quod justus inveniar.(vulgate) 18 ׃13 הִנֵּה־נָ֭א עָרַ֣כְתִּי מִשְׁפָּ֑ט יָ֝דַ֗עְתִּי כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י אֶצְדָּֽק׃ Job Job 13:18 Siehe, ich bin zum Rechtsstreit gerüstet; ich weiß, daß ich recht behalten werde.(dhs) Job 13:18 See now, I have prepared my case, I know that I shall be vindicated.(nkjv) ======= Job 13:19 ============ Job 13:19 "Who will contend with me? For then I would be silent and die.(nas) Job 13:19 τίς γάρ ἐστιν ὁ κριθησόμενός μοι ὅτι νῦν κωφεύσω καὶ ἐκλείψω (lxx) Job 13:19 Quis est qui judicetur mecum? veniat: quare tacens consumor?(vulgate) 19 ׃13 מִי־ה֭וּא יָרִ֣יב עִמָּדִ֑י כִּֽי־עַתָּ֖ה אַחֲרִ֣ישׁ וְאֶגְוָֽע׃ Job Job 13:19 Wer ist, der mit mir rechten könnte? Denn dann wollte ich schweigen und verscheiden.(dhs) Job 13:19 Who is he who will contend with me? If now I hold my tongue, I perish.(nkjv) ======= Job 13:20 ============ Job 13:20 "Only two things do not do to me, Then I will not hide from Your face:(nas) Job 13:20 δυεῖν δέ μοι χρήσῃ τότε ἀπὸ τοῦ προσώπου σου οὐ κρυβήσομαι (lxx) Job 13:20 Duo tantum ne facias mihi, et tunc a facie tua non abscondar:(vulgate) 20 ׃13 אַךְ־שְׁ֭תַּיִם אַל־תַּ֣עַשׂ עִמָּדִ֑י אָ֥ז מִ֝פָּנֶ֗יךָ לֹ֣א אֶסָּתֵֽר׃ Job Job 13:20 Zweierlei tue mir nur nicht, so will ich mich vor dir nicht verbergen:(dhs) Job 13:20 "Only two things do not do to me, Then I will not hide myself from You:(nkjv) ======= Job 13:21 ============ Job 13:21 Remove Your hand from me, And let not the dread of You terrify me.(nas) Job 13:21 τὴν χεῖρα ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ ἀπέχου καὶ ὁ φόβος σου μή με καταπλησσέτω (lxx) Job 13:21 manum tuam longe fac a me, et formido tua non me terreat.(vulgate) 21 ׃13 כַּ֭פְּךָ מֵעָלַ֣י הַרְחַ֑ק וְ֝אֵ֥מָתְךָ֗ אַֽל־תְּבַעֲתַֽנִּי׃ Job Job 13:21 laß deine Hand fern von mir sein, und dein Schrecken erschrecke mich nicht!(dhs) Job 13:21 Withdraw Your hand far from me, And let not the dread of You make me afraid.(nkjv) ======= Job 13:22 ============ Job 13:22 "Then call, and I will answer; Or let me speak, then reply to me.(nas) Job 13:22 εἶτα καλέσεις ἐγὼ δέ σοι ὑπακούσομαι ἢ λαλήσεις ἐγὼ δέ σοι δώσω ἀνταπόκρισιν (lxx) Job 13:22 Voca me, et ego respondebo tibi: aut certe loquar, et tu responde mihi.(vulgate) 22 ׃13 וּ֭קְרָא וְאָנֹכִ֣י אֶֽעֱנֶ֑ה אֽוֹ־אֲ֝דַבֵּ֗ר וַהֲשִׁיבֵֽנִי׃ Job Job 13:22 Dann rufe, ich will antworten, oder ich will reden, antworte du mir!(dhs) Job 13:22 Then call, and I will answer; Or let me speak, then You respond to me.(nkjv) ======= Job 13:23 ============ Job 13:23 "How many are my iniquities and sins? Make known to me my rebellion and my sin.(nas) Job 13:23 πόσαι εἰσὶν αἱ ἁμαρτίαι μου καὶ αἱ ἀνομίαι μου δίδαξόν με τίνες εἰσίν (lxx) Job 13:23 Quantas habeo iniquitates et peccata? scelera mea et delicta ostende mihi.(vulgate) 23 ׃13 כַּמָּ֣ה לִ֭י עֲוֺנ֣וֹת וְחַטָּא֑וֹת פִּֽשְׁעִ֥י וְ֝חַטָּאתִ֗י הֹדִיעֵֽנִי׃ Job Job 13:23 Wie viel ist meiner Missetaten und Sünden? Laß mich wissen meine Übertretung und Sünde.(dhs) Job 13:23 How many are my iniquities and sins? Make me know my transgression and my sin.(nkjv) ======= Job 13:24 ============ Job 13:24 "Why do You hide Your face And consider me Your enemy?(nas) Job 13:24 διὰ τί ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ κρύπτῃ ἥγησαι δέ με ὑπεναντίον σοι (lxx) Job 13:24 Cur faciem tuam abscondis, et arbitraris me inimicum tuum?(vulgate) 24 ׃13 לָֽמָּה־פָנֶ֥יךָ תַסְתִּ֑יר וְתַחְשְׁבֵ֖נִי לְאוֹיֵ֣ב לָֽךְ׃ Job Job 13:24 Warum verbirgst du dein Antlitz und hältst mich für deinen Feind?(dhs) Job 13:24 Why do You hide Your face, And regard me as Your enemy?(nkjv) ======= Job 13:25 ============ Job 13:25 "Will You cause a driven leaf to tremble? Or will You pursue the dry chaff?(nas) Job 13:25 ἦ ὡς φύλλον κινούμενον ὑπὸ ἀνέμου εὐλαβηθήσῃ ἢ ὡς χόρτῳ φερομένῳ ὑπὸ πνεύματος ἀντίκεισαί μοι (lxx) Job 13:25 Contra folium, quod vento rapitur, ostendis potentiam tuam, et stipulam siccam persequeris:(vulgate) 25 ׃13 הֶעָלֶ֣ה נִדָּ֣ף תַּעֲר֑וֹץ וְאֶת־קַ֖שׁ יָבֵ֣שׁ תִּרְדֹּֽף׃ Job Job 13:25 Willst du wider ein fliegend Blatt so ernst sein und einen dürren Halm verfolgen?(dhs) Job 13:25 Will You frighten a leaf driven to and fro? And will You pursue dry stubble?(nkjv) ======= Job 13:26 ============ Job 13:26 "For You write bitter things against me And make me to inherit the iniquities of my youth.(nas) Job 13:26 ὅτι κατέγραψας κατ᾽ ἐμοῦ κακά περιέθηκας δέ μοι νεότητος ἁμαρτίας (lxx) Job 13:26 scribis enim contra me amaritudines, et consumere me vis peccatis adolescentiæ meæ.(vulgate) 26 ׃13 כִּֽי־תִכְתֹּ֣ב עָלַ֣י מְרֹר֑וֹת וְ֝תוֹרִישֵׁ֗נִי עֲוֺנ֥וֹת נְעוּרָֽי׃ Job Job 13:26 Denn du schreibst mir Betrübnis an und willst über mich bringen die Sünden meiner Jugend.(dhs) Job 13:26 For You write bitter things against me, And make me inherit the iniquities of my youth.(nkjv) ======= Job 13:27 ============ Job 13:27 "You put my feet in the stocks And watch all my paths; You set a limit for the soles of my feet,(nas) Job 13:27 ἔθου δέ μου τὸν πόδα ἐν κωλύματι ἐφύλαξας δέ μου πάντα τὰ ἔργα εἰς δὲ ῥίζας τῶν ποδῶν μου ἀφίκου (lxx) Job 13:27 Posuisti in nervo pedem meum, et observasti omnes semitas meas, et vestigia pedum meorum considerasti:(vulgate) 27 ׃13 וְתָ֘שֵׂ֤ם בַּסַּ֨ד ׀ רַגְלַ֗י וְתִשְׁמ֥וֹר כָּל־אָרְחוֹתָ֑י עַל־שָׁרְשֵׁ֥י רַ֝גְלַ֗י תִּתְחַקֶּֽה׃ Job Job 13:27 Du hast meinen Fuß in den Stock gelegt und hast acht auf alle meine Pfade und siehst auf die Fußtapfen meiner Füße,(dhs) Job 13:27 You put my feet in the stocks, And watch closely all my paths. You set a limit for the soles of my feet.(nkjv) ======= Job 13:28 ============ Job 13:28 While I am decaying like a rotten thing, Like a garment that is moth-eaten.(nas) Job 13:28 ὃ παλαιοῦται ἴσα ἀσκῷ ἢ ὥσπερ ἱμάτιον σητόβρωτον (lxx) Job 13:28 qui quasi putredo consumendus sum, et quasi vestimentum quod comeditur a tinea.](vulgate) 28 ׃13 וְ֭הוּא כְּרָקָ֣ב יִבְלֶ֑ה כְּ֝בֶ֗גֶד אֲכָ֣לוֹ עָֽשׁ׃ Job Job 13:28 der ich doch wie Moder vergehe und wie ein Kleid, das die Motten fressen.(dhs) Job 13:28 "Man decays like a rotten thing, Like a garment that is moth-eaten.(nkjv) ======= Job 14:1 ============ top of the page
