Today's Date: Job 14:22 But his flesh will be in pain over it, And his soul will mourn over it."(nkjv) ======= Job 15:1 ============ Job 15:1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite responded,(nas) Job 15:1 ὑπολαβὼν δὲ Ελιφας ὁ Θαιμανίτης λέγει (lxx) Job 15:1 Respondens autem Eliphaz Themanites, dixit:(vulgate) 1 ׃15 וַ֭יַּעַן אֱלִיפַ֥ז הַֽתֵּימָנִ֗י וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ Job Job 15:1 Da antwortete Eliphas von Theman und sprach:(dhs) Job 15:1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said:(nkjv) ======= Job 15:2 ============ Job 15:2 "Should a wise man answer with windy knowledge And fill himself with the east wind?(nas) Job 15:2 πότερον σοφὸς ἀπόκρισιν δώσει συνέσεως πνεύματος καὶ ἐνέπλησεν πόνον γαστρὸς (lxx) Job 15:2 [Numquid sapiens respondebit quasi in ventum loquens, et implebit ardore stomachum suum?(vulgate) 2 ׃15 הֶֽחָכָ֗ם יַעֲנֶ֥ה דַֽעַת־ר֑וּחַ וִֽימַלֵּ֖א קָדִ֣ים בִּטְנֽוֹ׃ Job Job 15:2 Soll ein weiser Mann so aufgeblasene Worte reden und seinen Bauch so blähen mit leeren Reden?(dhs) Job 15:2 "Should a wise man answer with empty knowledge, And fill himself with the east wind?(nkjv) ======= Job 15:3 ============ Job 15:3 "Should he argue with useless talk, Or with words which are not profitable?(nas) Job 15:3 ἐλέγχων ἐν ῥήμασιν οἷς οὐ δεῖ ἐν λόγοις οἷς οὐδὲν ὄφελος (lxx) Job 15:3 Arguis verbis eum qui non est æqualis tibi, et loqueris quod tibi non expedit.(vulgate) 3 ׃15 הוֹכֵ֣חַ בְּ֭דָבָר לֹ֣א יִסְכּ֑וֹן וּ֝מִלִּ֗ים לֹא־יוֹעִ֥יל בָּֽם׃ Job Job 15:3 Du verantwortest dich mit Worten, die nicht taugen, und dein Reden ist nichts nütze.(dhs) Job 15:3 Should he reason with unprofitable talk, Or by speeches with which he can do no good?(nkjv) ======= Job 15:4 ============ Job 15:4 "Indeed, you do away with reverence And hinder meditation before God.(nas) Job 15:4 οὐ καὶ σὺ ἀπεποιήσω φόβον συνετελέσω δὲ ῥήματα τοιαῦτα ἔναντι τοῦ κυρίου (lxx) Job 15:4 Quantum in te est, evacuasti timorem, et tulisti preces coram Deo.(vulgate) 4 ׃15 אַף־אַ֭תָּה תָּפֵ֣ר יִרְאָ֑ה וְתִגְרַ֥ע שִׂ֝יחָ֗ה לִפְנֵי־אֵֽל׃ Job Job 15:4 Du hast die Furcht fahren lassen und redest verächtlich vor Gott.(dhs) Job 15:4 Yes, you cast off fear, And restrain prayer before God.(nkjv) ======= Job 15:5 ============ Job 15:5 "For your guilt teaches your mouth, And you choose the language of the crafty.(nas) Job 15:5 ἔνοχος εἶ ῥήμασιν στόματός σου οὐδὲ διέκρινας ῥήματα δυναστῶν (lxx) Job 15:5 Docuit enim iniquitas tua os tuum, et imitaris linguam blasphemantium.(vulgate) 5 ׃15 כִּ֤י יְאַלֵּ֣ף עֲוֺנְךָ֣ פִ֑יךָ וְ֝תִבְחַ֗ר לְשׁ֣וֹן עֲרוּמִֽים׃ Job Job 15:5 Denn deine Missetat lehrt deinen Mund also, und hast erwählt eine listige Zunge.(dhs) Job 15:5 For your iniquity teaches your mouth, And you choose the tongue of the crafty.(nkjv) ======= Job 15:6 ============ Job 15:6 "Your own mouth condemns you, and not I; And your own lips testify against you.(nas) Job 15:6 ἐλέγξαι σε τὸ σὸν στόμα καὶ μὴ ἐγώ τὰ δὲ χείλη σου καταμαρτυρήσουσίν σου (lxx) Job 15:6 Condemnabit te os tuum, et non ego: et labia tua respondebunt tibi.(vulgate) 6 ׃15 יַרְשִֽׁיעֲךָ֣ פִ֣יךָ וְלֹא־אָ֑נִי וּ֝שְׂפָתֶ֗יךָ יַעֲנוּ־בָֽךְ׃ Job Job 15:6 Dein Mund verdammt dich, und nicht ich; deine Lippen zeugen gegen dich.(dhs) Job 15:6 Your own mouth condemns you, and not I; Yes, your own lips testify against you.(nkjv) ======= Job 15:7 ============ Job 15:7 "Were you the first man to be born, Or were you brought forth before the hills?(nas) Job 15:7 τί γάρ μὴ πρῶτος ἀνθρώπων ἐγενήθης ἢ πρὸ θινῶν ἐπάγης (lxx) Job 15:7 Numquid primus homo tu natus es, et ante colles formatus?(vulgate) 7 ׃15 הֲרִאישׁ֣וֹן אָ֭דָם תִּוָּלֵ֑ד וְלִפְנֵ֖י גְבָע֣וֹת חוֹלָֽלְתָּ׃ Job Job 15:7 Bist du der erste Mensch geboren? bist du vor allen Hügeln empfangen?(dhs) Job 15:7 "Are you the first man who was born? Or were you made before the hills?(nkjv) ======= Job 15:8 ============ Job 15:8 "Do you hear the secret counsel of God, And limit wisdom to yourself?(nas) Job 15:8 ἦ σύνταγμα κυρίου ἀκήκοας εἰς δὲ σὲ ἀφίκετο σοφία (lxx) Job 15:8 numquid consilium Dei audisti, et inferior te erit ejus sapientia?(vulgate) 8 ׃15 הַבְס֣וֹד אֱל֣וֹהַ תִּשְׁמָ֑ע וְתִגְרַ֖ע אֵלֶ֣יךָ חָכְמָֽה׃ Job Job 15:8 Hast du Gottes heimlichen Rat gehört und die Weisheit an dich gerissen?(dhs) Job 15:8 Have you heard the counsel of God? Do you limit wisdom to yourself?(nkjv) ======= Job 15:9 ============ Job 15:9 "What do you know that we do not know? What do you understand that we do not?(nas) Job 15:9 τί γὰρ οἶδας ὃ οὐκ οἴδαμεν ἢ τί συνίεις ὃ οὐχὶ καὶ ἡμεῖς (lxx) Job 15:9 Quid nosti quod ignoremus? quid intelligis quod nesciamus?(vulgate) 9 ׃15 מַה־יָּ֭דַעְתָּ וְלֹ֣א נֵדָ֑ע תָּ֝בִ֗ין וְֽלֹא־עִמָּ֥נוּ הֽוּא׃ Job Job 15:9 Was weißt du, das wir nicht wissen? was verstehst du, das nicht bei uns sei?(dhs) Job 15:9 What do you know that we do not know? What do you understand that is not in us?(nkjv) ======= Job 15:10 ============ Job 15:10 "Both the gray-haired and the aged are among us, Older than your father.(nas) Job 15:10 καί γε πρεσβύτης καί γε παλαιὸς ἐν ἡμῖν βαρύτερος τοῦ πατρός σου ἡμέραις (lxx) Job 15:10 Et senes et antiqui sunt in nobis, multo vetustiores quam patres tui.(vulgate) 10 ׃15 גַּם־שָׂ֣ב גַּם־יָשִׁ֣ישׁ בָּ֑נוּ כַּבִּ֖יר מֵאָבִ֣יךָ יָמִֽים׃ Job Job 15:10 Es sind Graue und Alte unter uns, die länger gelebt haben denn dein Vater.(dhs) Job 15:10 Both the gray-haired and the aged are among us, Much older than your father.(nkjv) ======= Job 15:11 ============ Job 15:11 "Are the consolations of God too small for you, Even the word spoken gently with you?(nas) Job 15:11 ὀλίγα ὧν ἡμάρτηκας μεμαστίγωσαι μεγάλως ὑπερβαλλόντως λελάληκας (lxx) Job 15:11 Numquid grande est ut consoletur te Deus? sed verba tua prava hoc prohibent.(vulgate) 11 ׃15 הַמְעַ֣ט מִ֭מְּךָ תַּנְחֻמ֣וֹת אֵ֑ל וְ֝דָבָ֗ר לָאַ֥ט עִמָּֽךְ׃ Job Job 15:11 Sollten Gottes Tröstungen so gering vor dir gelten und ein Wort, in Lindigkeit zu dir gesprochen?(dhs) Job 15:11 Are the consolations of God too small for you, And the word spoken gently with you?(nkjv) ======= Job 15:12 ============ Job 15:12 "Why does your heart carry you away? And why do your eyes flash,(nas) Job 15:12 τί ἐτόλμησεν ἡ καρδία σου ἢ τί ἐπήνεγκαν οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου (lxx) Job 15:12 Quid te elevat cor tuum, et quasi magna cogitans attonitos habes oculos?(vulgate) 12 ׃15 מַה־יִּקָּחֲךָ֥ לִבֶּ֑ךָ וּֽמַה־יִּרְזְמ֥וּן עֵינֶֽיךָ׃ Job Job 15:12 Was nimmt dein Herz vor? was siehst du so stolz?(dhs) Job 15:12 Why does your heart carry you away, And what do your eyes wink at,(nkjv) ======= Job 15:13 ============ Job 15:13 That you should turn your spirit against God And allow such words to go out of your mouth?(nas) Job 15:13 ὅτι θυμὸν ἔρρηξας ἔναντι κυρίου ἐξήγαγες δὲ ἐκ στόματος ῥήματα τοιαῦτα (lxx) Job 15:13 Quid tumet contra Deum spiritus tuus, ut proferas de ore tuo hujuscemodi sermones?(vulgate) 13 ׃15 כִּֽי־תָשִׁ֣יב אֶל־אֵ֣ל רוּחֶ֑ךָ וְהֹצֵ֖אתָ מִפִּ֣יךָ מִלִּֽין׃ Job Job 15:13 Was setzt sich dein Mut gegen Gott, daß du solche Reden aus deinem Munde lässest?(dhs) Job 15:13 That you turn your spirit against God, And let such words go out of your mouth?(nkjv) ======= Job 15:14 ============ Job 15:14 "What is man, that he should be pure, Or he who is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?(nas) Job 15:14 τίς γὰρ ὢν βροτός ὅτι ἔσται ἄμεμπτος ἢ ὡς ἐσόμενος δίκαιος γεννητὸς γυναικός (lxx) Job 15:14 Quid est homo ut immaculatus sit, et ut justus appareat natus de muliere?(vulgate) 14 ׃15 מָֽה־אֱנ֥וֹשׁ כִּֽי־יִזְכֶּ֑ה וְכִֽי־יִ֝צְדַּ֗ק יְל֣וּד אִשָּֽׁה׃ Job Job 15:14 Was ist ein Mensch, daß er sollte rein sein, und daß er sollte gerecht sein, der von einem Weibe geboren ist?(dhs) Job 15:14 "What is man, that he could be pure? And he who is born of a woman, that he could be righteous?(nkjv) ======= Job 15:15 ============ Job 15:15 "Behold, He puts no trust in His holy ones, And the heavens are not pure in His sight;(nas) Job 15:15 εἰ κατὰ ἁγίων οὐ πιστεύει οὐρανὸς δὲ οὐ καθαρὸς ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ (lxx) Job 15:15 Ecce inter sanctos ejus nemo immutabilis, et cæli non sunt mundi in conspectu ejus.(vulgate) 15 ׃15 הֵ֣ן *בקדשו **בִּ֭קְדֹשָׁיו לֹ֣א יַאֲמִ֑ין וְ֝שָׁמַ֗יִם לֹא־זַכּ֥וּ בְעֵינָֽיו׃ Job Job 15:15 Siehe, unter seinen Heiligen ist keiner ohne Tadel, und die im Himmel sind nicht rein vor ihm.(dhs) Job 15:15 If God puts no trust in His saints, And the heavens are not pure in His sight,(nkjv) ======= Job 15:16 ============ Job 15:16 How much less one who is detestable and corrupt, Man, who drinks iniquity like water!(nas) Job 15:16 ἔα δὲ ἐβδελυγμένος καὶ ἀκάθαρτος ἀνὴρ πίνων ἀδικίας ἴσα ποτῷ (lxx) Job 15:16 Quanto magis abominabilis et inutilis homo, qui bibit quasi aquam iniquitatem?(vulgate) 16 ׃15 אַ֭ף כִּֽי־נִתְעָ֥ב וְֽנֶאֱלָ֑ח אִישׁ־שֹׁתֶ֖ה כַמַּ֣יִם עַוְלָֽה׃ Job Job 15:16 Wie viel weniger ein Mensch, der ein Greuel und schnöde ist, der Unrecht säuft wie Wasser.(dhs) Job 15:16 How much less man, who is abominable and filthy, Who drinks iniquity like water!(nkjv) ======= Job 15:17 ============ Job 15:17 "I will tell you, listen to me; And what I have seen I will also declare;(nas) Job 15:17 ἀναγγελῶ δέ σοι ἄκουέ μου ἃ δὴ ἑώρακα ἀναγγελῶ σοι (lxx) Job 15:17 Ostendam tibi: audi me: quod vidi, narrabo tibi.(vulgate) 17 ׃15 אֲחַוְךָ֥ שְֽׁמַֽע־לִ֑י וְזֶֽה־חָ֝זִ֗יתִי וַאֲסַפֵּֽרָה׃ Job Job 15:17 Ich will dir's zeigen, höre mir zu, und ich will dir erzählen, was ich gesehen habe,(dhs) Job 15:17 "I will tell you, hear me; What I have seen I will declare,(nkjv) ======= Job 15:18 ============ Job 15:18 What wise men have told, And have not concealed from their fathers,(nas) Job 15:18 ἃ σοφοὶ ἐροῦσιν καὶ οὐκ ἔκρυψαν πατέρας αὐτῶν (lxx) Job 15:18 Sapientes confitentur, et non abscondunt patres suos:(vulgate) 18 ׃15 אֲשֶׁר־חֲכָמִ֥ים יַגִּ֑ידוּ וְלֹ֥א כִֽ֝חֲד֗וּ מֵאֲבוֹתָֽם׃ Job Job 15:18 was die Weisen gesagt haben und ihren Vätern nicht verhohlen gewesen ist,(dhs) Job 15:18 What wise men have told, Not hiding anything received from their fathers,(nkjv) ======= Job 15:19 ============ Job 15:19 To whom alone the land was given, And no alien passed among them.(nas) Job 15:19 αὐτοῖς μόνοις ἐδόθη ἡ γῆ καὶ οὐκ ἐπῆλθεν ἀλλογενὴς ἐπ᾽ αὐτούς (lxx) Job 15:19 quibus solis data est terra, et non transivit alienus per eos.(vulgate) 19 ׃15 לָהֶ֣ם לְ֭בַדָּם נִתְּנָ֣ה הָאָ֑רֶץ וְלֹא־עָ֖בַר זָ֣ר בְּתוֹכָֽם׃ Job Job 15:19 welchen allein das Land gegeben war, daß kein Fremder durch sie gehen durfte:(dhs) Job 15:19 To whom alone the land was given, And no alien passed among them:(nkjv) ======= Job 15:20 ============ Job 15:20 "The wicked man writhes in pain all his days, And numbered are the years stored up for the ruthless.(nas) Job 15:20 πᾶς ὁ βίος ἀσεβοῦς ἐν φροντίδι ἔτη δὲ ἀριθμητὰ δεδομένα δυνάστῃ (lxx) Job 15:20 Cunctis diebus suis impius superbit, et numerus annorum incertus est tyrannidis ejus.(vulgate) 20 ׃15 כָּל־יְמֵ֣י רָ֭שָׁע ה֣וּא מִתְחוֹלֵ֑ל וּמִסְפַּ֥ר שָׁ֝נִ֗ים נִצְפְּנ֥וּ לֶעָרִֽיץ׃ Job Job 15:20 "Der Gottlose bebt sein Leben lang, und dem Tyrannen ist die Zahl seiner Jahre verborgen.(dhs) Job 15:20 The wicked man writhes with pain all his days, And the number of years is hidden from the oppressor.(nkjv) ======= Job 15:21 ============ Job 15:21 "Sounds of terror are in his ears; While at peace the destroyer comes upon him.(nas) Job 15:21 ὁ δὲ φόβος αὐτοῦ ἐν ὠσὶν αὐτοῦ ὅταν δοκῇ ἤδη εἰρηνεύειν ἥξει αὐτοῦ ἡ καταστροφή (lxx) Job 15:21 Sonitus terroris semper in auribus illius: et cum pax sit, ille semper insidias suspicatur.(vulgate) 21 ׃15 קוֹל־פְּחָדִ֥ים בְּאָזְנָ֑יו בַּ֝שָּׁל֗וֹם שׁוֹדֵ֥ד יְבוֹאֶֽנּוּ׃ Job Job 15:21 Was er hört, das schreckt ihn; und wenn's gleich Friede ist, fürchtet er sich, der Verderber komme,(dhs) Job 15:21 Dreadful sounds are in his ears; In prosperity the destroyer comes upon him.(nkjv) ======= Job 15:22 ============ Job 15:22 "He does not believe that he will return from darkness, And he is destined for the sword.(nas) Job 15:22 μὴ πιστευέτω ἀποστραφῆναι ἀπὸ σκότους ἐντέταλται γὰρ ἤδη εἰς χεῖρας σιδήρου (lxx) Job 15:22 Non credit quod reverti possit de tenebris ad lucem, circumspectans undique gladium.(vulgate) 22 ׃15 לֹא־יַאֲמִ֣ין שׁ֭וּב מִנִּי־חֹ֑שֶׁךְ *וצפו **וְצָפ֖וּי ה֣וּא אֱלֵי־חָֽרֶב׃ Job Job 15:22 glaubt nicht, daß er möge dem Unglück entrinnen, und versieht sich immer des Schwerts.(dhs) Job 15:22 He does not believe that he will return from darkness, For a sword is waiting for him.(nkjv) ======= Job 15:23 ============ Job 15:23 "He wanders about for food, saying, 'Where is it?' He knows that a day of darkness is at hand.(nas) Job 15:23 κατατέτακται δὲ εἰς σῖτα γυψίν οἶδεν δὲ ἐν ἑαυτῷ ὅτι μένει εἰς πτῶμα ἡμέρα δὲ αὐτὸν σκοτεινὴ στροβήσει (lxx) Job 15:23 Cum se moverit ad quærendum panem, novit quod paratus sit in manu ejus tenebrarum dies.(vulgate) 23 ׃15 נֹ֘דֵ֤ד ה֣וּא לַלֶּ֣חֶם אַיֵּ֑ה יָדַ֓ע ׀ כִּֽי־נָכ֖וֹן בְּיָד֣וֹ יֽוֹם־חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ Job Job 15:23 Er zieht hin und her nach Brot, und es dünkt ihn immer, die Zeit seines Unglücks sei vorhanden.(dhs) Job 15:23 He wanders about for bread, saying, 'Where is it?'
