Today's Date: 4/8/2025 Job 18:21 Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, And this is the place of him who does not know God."(nkjv) ======= Job 19:1 ============ Job 19:1 Then Job responded,(nas) Job 19:1 ὑπολαβὼν δὲ Ιωβ λέγει (lxx) Job 19:1 Respondens autem Job, dixit:(vulgate) 1 ׃19 וַיַּ֥עַן אִיּ֗וֹב וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ Job Job 19:1 Hiob antwortete und sprach:(dhs) Job 19:1 Then Job answered and said:(nkjv) ======= Job 19:2 ============ Job 19:2 "How long will you torment me And crush me with words?(nas) Job 19:2 ἕως τίνος ἔγκοπον ποιήσετε ψυχήν μου καὶ καθαιρεῖτε με λόγοις (lxx) Job 19:2 [Usquequo affligitis animam meam, et atteritis me sermonibus?(vulgate) 2 ׃19 עַד־אָ֭נָה תּוֹגְי֣וּן נַפְשִׁ֑י וּֽתְדַכּאוּנַ֥נִי בְמִלִּֽים׃ Job Job 19:2 Wie lange plagt ihr doch meine Seele und peinigt mich mit Worten?(dhs) Job 19:2 "How long will you torment my soul, And break me in pieces with words?(nkjv) ======= Job 19:3 ============ Job 19:3 "These ten times you have insulted me; You are not ashamed to wrong me.(nas) Job 19:3 γνῶτε μόνον ὅτι ὁ κύριος ἐποίησέ με οὕτως καταλαλεῖτέ μου οὐκ αἰσχυνόμενοί με ἐπίκεισθέ μοι (lxx) Job 19:3 En decies confunditis me, et non erubescitis opprimentes me.(vulgate) 3 ׃19 זֶ֤ה עֶ֣שֶׂר פְּ֭עָמִים תַּכְלִימ֑וּנִי לֹֽא־תֵ֝בֹ֗שׁוּ תַּהְכְּרוּ־לִֽי׃ Job Job 19:3 Ihr habt mich nun zehnmal gehöhnt und schämt euch nicht, daß ihr mich also umtreibt.(dhs) Job 19:3 These ten times you have reproached me; You are not ashamed that you have wronged me.(nkjv) ======= Job 19:4 ============ Job 19:4 "Even if I have truly erred, My error lodges with me.(nas) Job 19:4 ναὶ δὴ ἐπ᾽ ἀληθείας ἐγὼ ἐπλανήθην παρ᾽ ἐμοὶ δὲ αὐλίζεται πλάνος Job 19:4 Nempe etsi ignoravi, mecum erit ignorantia mea.(vulgate) 4 ׃19 וְאַף־אָמְנָ֥ם שָׁגִ֑יתִי אִ֝תִּ֗י תָּלִ֥ין מְשׁוּגָתִֽי׃ Job Job 19:4 Irre ich, so irre ich mir.(dhs) Job 19:4 And if indeed I have erred, My error remains with me.(nkjv) ======= Job 19:5 ============ Job 19:5 "If indeed you vaunt yourselves against me And prove my disgrace to me,(nas) Job 19:5 ἔα δὲ ὅτι ἐπ᾽ ἐμοὶ μεγαλύνεσθε ἐνάλλεσθε δέ μοι ὀνείδει (lxx) Job 19:5 At vos contra me erigimini, et arguitis me opprobriis meis.(vulgate) 5 ׃19 אִם־אָ֭מְנָם עָלַ֣י תַּגְדִּ֑ילוּ וְתוֹכִ֥יחוּ עָ֝לַ֗י חֶרְפָּתִּֽ[t]י׃ Job Job 19:5 Wollt ihr wahrlich euch über mich erheben und wollt meine Schmach mir beweisen,(dhs) Job 19:5 If indeed you exalt yourselves against me, And plead my disgrace against me,(nkjv) ======= Job 19:6 ============ Job 19:6 Know then that God has wronged me And has closed His net around me.(nas) Job 19:6 γνῶτε οὖν ὅτι ὁ κύριός ἐστιν ὁ ταράξας ὀχύρωμα δὲ αὐτοῦ ἐπ᾽ ἐμὲ ὕψωσεν (lxx) Job 19:6 Saltem nunc intelligite quia Deus non æquo judicio afflixerit me, et flagellis suis me cinxerit.(vulgate) 6 ׃19 דְּֽעוּ־אֵ֭פוֹ כִּי־אֱל֣וֹהַּ עִוְּתָ֑נִי וּ֝מְצוּד֗וֹ עָלַ֥י הִקִּֽיף׃ Job Job 19:6 so merkt doch nun einmal, daß mir Gott Unrecht tut und hat mich mit seinem Jagdstrick umgeben.(dhs) Job 19:6 Know then that God has wronged me, And has surrounded me with His net.(nkjv) ======= Job 19:7 ============ Job 19:7 "Behold, I cry, 'Violence!' but I get no answer; I shout for help, but there is no justice.(nas) Job 19:7 ἰδοὺ γελῶ ὀνείδει καὶ οὐ λαλήσω κεκράξομαι καὶ οὐδαμοῦ κρίμα (lxx) Job 19:7 Ecce clamabo, vim patiens, et nemo audiet; vociferabor, et non est qui judicet.(vulgate) 7 ׃19 הֵ֤ן אֶצְעַ֣ק חָ֭מָס וְלֹ֣א אֵעָנֶ֑ה אֲ֝שַׁוַּ֗ע וְאֵ֣ין מִשְׁפָּֽט׃ Job Job 19:7 Siehe, ob ich schon schreie über Frevel, so werde ich doch nicht erhört; ich rufe, und ist kein Recht da.(dhs) Job 19:7 "If I cry out concerning wrong, I am not heard. If I cry aloud, there is no justice.(nkjv) ======= Job 19:8 ============ Job 19:8 "He has walled up my way so that I cannot pass, And He has put darkness on my paths.(nas) Job 19:8 κύκλῳ περιῳκοδόμημαι καὶ οὐ μὴ διαβῶ ἐπὶ πρόσωπόν μου σκότος ἔθετο (lxx) Job 19:8 Semitam meam circumsepsit, et transire non possum: et in calle meo tenebras posuit.(vulgate) 8 ׃19 אָרְחִ֣י גָ֭דַר וְלֹ֣א אֶעֱב֑וֹר וְעַ֥ל נְ֝תִיבוֹתַ֗י חֹ֣שֶׁךְ יָשִֽׂים׃ Job Job 19:8 Er hat meinen Weg verzäunt, daß ich nicht kann hinübergehen, und hat Finsternis auf meinen Steig gestellt.(dhs) Job 19:8 He has fenced up my way, so that I cannot pass; And He has set darkness in my paths.(nkjv) ======= Job 19:9 ============ Job 19:9 "He has stripped my honor from me And removed the crown from my head.(nas) Job 19:9 τὴν δὲ δόξαν ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ ἐξέδυσεν ἀφεῖλεν δὲ στέφανον ἀπὸ κεφαλῆς μου (lxx) Job 19:9 Spoliavit me gloria mea, et abstulit coronam de capite meo.(vulgate) 9 ׃19 כְּ֭בוֹדִי מֵעָלַ֣י הִפְשִׁ֑יט וַ֝יָּ֗סַר עֲטֶ֣רֶת רֹאשִֽׁי׃ Job Job 19:9 Er hat meine Ehre mir ausgezogen und die Krone von meinem Haupt genommen.(dhs) Job 19:9 He has stripped me of my glory, And taken the crown from my head.(nkjv) ======= Job 19:10 ============ Job 19:10 "He breaks me down on every side, and I am gone; And He has uprooted my hope like a tree.(nas) Job 19:10 διέσπασέν με κύκλῳ καὶ ᾠχόμην ἐξέκοψεν δὲ ὥσπερ δένδρον τὴν ἐλπίδα μου (lxx) Job 19:10 Destruxit me undique, et pereo: et quasi evulsæ arbori abstulit spem meam.(vulgate) 10 ׃19 יִתְּצֵ֣נִי סָ֭בִיב וָאֵלַ֑ךְ וַיַּסַּ֥ע כָּ֝עֵ֗ץ תִּקְוָתִֽי׃ Job Job 19:10 Er hat mich zerbrochen um und um und läßt mich gehen und hat ausgerissen meine Hoffnung wie einen Baum.(dhs) Job 19:10 He breaks me down on every side, And I am gone; My hope He has uprooted like a tree.(nkjv) ======= Job 19:11 ============ Job 19:11 "He has also kindled His anger against me And considered me as His enemy.(nas) Job 19:11 δεινῶς δέ μοι ὀργῇ ἐχρήσατο ἡγήσατο δέ με ὥσπερ ἐχθρόν (lxx) Job 19:11 Iratus est contra me furor ejus, et sic me habuit quasi hostem suum.(vulgate) 11 ׃19 וַיַּ֣חַר עָלַ֣י אַפּ֑וֹ וַיַּחְשְׁבֵ֖נִי ל֣וֹ כְצָרָֽיו׃ Job Job 19:11 Sein Zorn ist über mich ergrimmt, und er achtet mich für seinen Feind.(dhs) Job 19:11 He has also kindled His wrath against me, And He counts me as one of His enemies.(nkjv) ======= Job 19:12 ============ Job 19:12 "His troops come together, And build up their way against me And camp around my tent.(nas) Job 19:12 ὁμοθυμαδὸν δὲ ἦλθον τὰ πειρατήρια αὐτοῦ ἐπ᾽ ἐμοὶ ταῖς ὁδοῖς μου ἐκύκλωσάν με ἐγκάθετοι (lxx) Job 19:12 Simul venerunt latrones ejus, et fecerunt sibi viam per me, et obsederunt in gyro tabernaculum meum.(vulgate) 12 ׃19 יַ֤חַד ׀ יָ֘בֹ֤אוּ גְדוּדָ֗יו וַיָּסֹ֣לּוּ עָלַ֣י דַּרְכָּ֑ם וַיַּחֲנ֖וּ סָבִ֣יב לְאָהֳלִֽי׃ Job Job 19:12 Seine Kriegsscharen sind miteinander gekommen und haben ihren Weg gegen mich gebahnt und haben sich um meine Hütte her gelagert.(dhs) Job 19:12 His troops come together And build up their road against me; They encamp all around my tent.(nkjv) ======= Job 19:13 ============ Job 19:13 "He has removed my brothers far from me, And my acquaintances are completely estranged from me.(nas) Job 19:13 ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ δὲ ἀδελφοί μου ἀπέστησαν ἔγνωσαν ἀλλοτρίους ἢ ἐμέ φίλοι δέ μου ἀνελεήμονες γεγόνασιν (lxx) Job 19:13 Fratres meos longe fecit a me, et noti mei quasi alieni recesserunt a me.(vulgate) 13 ׃19 אַ֭חַי מֵעָלַ֣י הִרְחִ֑יק וְ֝יֹדְעַ֗י אַךְ־זָ֥רוּ מִמֶּֽנִּי׃ Job Job 19:13 Er hat meine Brüder fern von mir getan, und meine Verwandten sind mir fremd geworden.(dhs) Job 19:13 "He has removed my brothers far from me, And my acquaintances are completely estranged from me.(nkjv) ======= Job 19:14 ============ Job 19:14 "My relatives have failed, And my intimate friends have forgotten me.(nas) Job 19:14 οὐ προσεποιήσαντό με οἱ ἐγγύτατοί μου καὶ οἱ εἰδότες μου τὸ ὄνομα ἐπελάθοντό μου (lxx) Job 19:14 Dereliquerunt me propinqui mei, et qui me noverant obliti sunt mei.(vulgate) 14 ׃19 חָדְל֥וּ קְרוֹבָ֑י וּֽמְיֻדָּעַ֥י שְׁכֵחֽוּנִי׃ Job Job 19:14 Meine Nächsten haben sich entzogen, und meine Freunde haben mein vergessen.(dhs) Job 19:14 My relatives have failed, And my close friends have forgotten me.(nkjv) ======= Job 19:15 ============ Job 19:15 "Those who live in my house and my maids consider me a stranger. I am a foreigner in their sight.(nas) Job 19:15 γείτονες οἰκίας θεράπαιναί τέ μου ἀλλογενὴς ἤμην ἐναντίον αὐτῶν (lxx) Job 19:15 Inquilini domus meæ et ancillæ meæ sicut alienum habuerunt me, et quasi peregrinus fui in oculis eorum.(vulgate) 15 ׃19 גָּ֘רֵ֤י בֵיתִ֣י וְ֭אַמְהֹתַי לְזָ֣ר תַּחְשְׁבֻ֑נִי נָ֝כְרִ֗י הָיִ֥יתִי בְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃ Job Job 19:15 Meine Hausgenossen und meine Mägde achten mich für fremd; ich bin unbekannt geworden vor ihren Augen.(dhs) Job 19:15 Those who dwell in my house, and my maidservants, Count me as a stranger; I am an alien in their sight.(nkjv) ======= Job 19:16 ============ Job 19:16 "I call to my servant, but he does not answer; I have to implore him with my mouth.(nas) Job 19:16 θεράποντά μου ἐκάλεσα καὶ οὐχ ὑπήκουσεν στόμα δέ μου ἐδέετο (lxx) Job 19:16 Servum meum vocavi, et non respondit: ore proprio deprecabar illum.(vulgate) 16 ׃19 לְעַבְדִּ֣י קָּ֭רָאתִי וְלֹ֣א יַעֲנֶ֑ה בְּמוֹ־פִ֝֗י אֶתְחַנֶּן־לֽוֹ׃ Job Job 19:16 Ich rief meinen Knecht, und er antwortete mir nicht; ich mußte ihn anflehen mit eigenem Munde.(dhs) Job 19:16 I call my servant, but he gives no answer; I beg him with my mouth.(nkjv) ======= Job 19:17 ============ Job 19:17 "My breath is offensive to my wife, And I am loathsome to my own brothers.(nas) Job 19:17 καὶ ἱκέτευον τὴν γυναῖκά μου προσεκαλούμην δὲ κολακεύων υἱοὺς παλλακίδων μου (lxx) Job 19:17 Halitum meum exhorruit uxor mea, et orabam filios uteri mei.(vulgate) 17 ׃19 ר֭וּחִֽי זָ֣רָה לְאִשְׁתִּ֑י וְ֝חַנֹּתִ֗י לִבְנֵ֥י בִטְנִֽי׃ Job Job 19:17 Mein Odem ist zuwider meinem Weibe, und ich bin ein Ekel den Kindern meines Leibes.(dhs) Job 19:17 My breath is offensive to my wife, And I am repulsive to the children of my own body.(nkjv) ======= Job 19:18 ============ Job 19:18 "Even young children despise me; I rise up and they speak against me.(nas) Job 19:18 οἱ δὲ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνά με ἀπεποιήσαντο ὅταν ἀναστῶ κατ᾽ ἐμοῦ λαλοῦσιν (lxx) Job 19:18 Stulti quoque despiciebant me: et cum ab eis recessissem, detrahebant mihi.(vulgate) 18 ׃19 גַּם־עֲ֭וִילִים מָ֣אֲסוּ בִ֑י אָ֝ק֗וּמָה וַיְדַבְּרוּ־בִֽי׃ Job Job 19:18 Auch die jungen Kinder geben nichts auf mich; wenn ich ihnen widerstehe, so geben sie mir böse Worte.(dhs) Job 19:18 Even young children despise me; I arise, and they speak against me.(nkjv) ======= Job 19:19 ============ Job 19:19 "All my associates abhor me, And those I love have turned against me.(nas) Job 19:19 ἐβδελύξαντο δέ με οἱ εἰδότες με οὓς δὴ ἠγαπήκειν ἐπανέστησάν μοι (lxx) Job 19:19 Abominati sunt me quondam consiliarii mei, et quem maxime diligebam, aversatus est me.(vulgate) 19 ׃19 תִּֽ֭עֲבוּנִי כָּל־מְתֵ֣י סוֹדִ֑י וְזֶֽה־אָ֝הַ֗בְתִּי נֶהְפְּכוּ־בִֽי׃ Job Job 19:19 Alle meine Getreuen haben einen Greuel an mir; und die ich liebhatte, haben sich auch gegen mich gekehrt.(dhs) Job 19:19 All my close friends abhor me, And those whom I love have turned against me.(nkjv) ======= Job 19:20 ============ Job 19:20 "My bone clings to my skin and my flesh, And I have escaped only by the skin of my teeth.(nas) Job 19:20 ἐν δέρματί μου ἐσάπησαν αἱ σάρκες μου τὰ δὲ ὀστᾶ μου ἐν ὀδοῦσιν ἔχεται (lxx) Job 19:20 Pelli meæ, consumptis carnibus, adhæsit os meum, et derelicta sunt tantummodo labia circa dentes meos.(vulgate) 20 ׃19 בְּעוֹרִ֣י וּ֭בִבְשָׂרִי דָּבְקָ֣ה עַצְמִ֑י וָ֝אֶתְמַלְּטָ֗ה בְּע֣וֹר שִׁנָּֽי׃ Job Job 19:20 Mein Gebein hanget an mir an Haut und Fleisch, und ich kann meine Zähne mit der Haut nicht bedecken.(dhs) Job 19:20 My bone clings to my skin and to my flesh, And I have escaped by the skin of my teeth.(nkjv) ======= Job 19:21 ============ Job 19:21 "Pity me, pity me, O you my friends, For the hand of God has struck me.(nas) Job 19:21 ἐλεήσατέ με ἐλεήσατέ με ὦ φίλοι χεὶρ γὰρ κυρίου ἡ ἁψαμένη μού ἐστιν (lxx) Job 19:21 Miseremini mei, miseremini mei saltem vos, amici mei, quia manus Domini tetigit me.(vulgate) 21 ׃19 חָנֻּ֬נִי חָנֻּ֣נִי אַתֶּ֣ם רֵעָ֑י כִּ֥י יַד־אֱ֝ל֗וֹהַּ נָ֣גְעָה בִּֽי׃ Job Job 19:21 Erbarmt euch mein, erbarmt euch mein, ihr meine Freunde! denn die Hand Gottes hat mich getroffen.(dhs) Job 19:21 "Have pity on me, have pity on me, O you my friends, For the hand of God has struck me!(nkjv) ======= Job 19:22 ============ Job 19:22 "Why do you persecute me as God does, And are not satisfied with my flesh?(nas) Job 19:22 διὰ τί δέ με διώκετε ὥσπερ καὶ ὁ κύριος ἀπὸ δὲ σαρκῶν μου οὐκ ἐμπίπλασθε (lxx) Job 19:22 Quare persequimini me sicut Deus, et carnibus meis saturamini?(vulgate) 22 ׃19 לָ֭מָּה תִּרְדְּפֻ֣נִי כְמוֹ־אֵ֑ל וּ֝מִבְּשָׂרִ֗י לֹ֣א תִשְׂבָּֽעוּ׃ Job Job 19:22 Warum verfolgt ihr mich gleich wie Gott und könnt meines Fleisches nicht satt werden?(dhs) Job 19:22 Why do you persecute me as God does, And are not satisfied with my flesh?(nkjv) ======= Job 19:23 ============ Job 19:23 "Oh that my words were written! Oh that they were inscribed in a book!(nas) Job 19:23 τίς γὰρ ἂν δῴη γραφῆναι τὰ ῥήματά μου τεθῆναι δὲ αὐτὰ ἐν βιβλίῳ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα (lxx) Job 19:23 Quis mihi tribuat ut scribantur sermones mei? quis mihi det ut exarentur in libro(vulgate) 23 ׃19 מִֽי־יִתֵּ֣ן אֵ֭פוֹ וְיִכָּתְב֣וּן מִלָּ֑י מִֽי־יִתֵּ֖ן בַּסֵּ֣פֶר וְיֻחָֽקוּ׃ Job Job 19:23 Ach daß meine Reden geschrieben würden! ach daß sie in ein Buch gestellt würden!(dhs) Job 19:23 "Oh, that my words were written! Oh, that they were inscribed in a book!(nkjv) ======= Job 19:24 ============ Job 19:24 "That with an iron stylus and lead They were engraved in the rock forever!(nas) Job 19:24 ἐν γραφείῳ σιδηρῷ καὶ μολίβῳ ἢ ἐν πέτραις ἐγγλυφῆναι (lxx) Job 19:24 stylo ferreo et plumbi lamina, vel celte sculpantur in silice?(vulgate) 24 ׃19 בְּעֵט־בַּרְזֶ֥ל וְעֹפָ֑רֶת לָ֝עַ֗ד בַּצּ֥וּר יֵחָצְבֽוּן׃ Job Job 19:24 mit einem eisernen Griffel auf Blei und zum ewigem Gedächtnis in Stein gehauen würden!(dhs) Job 19:24 That they were engraved on a rock With an iron pen and lead, forever!(nkjv) ======= Job 19:25 ============ Job 19:25 "As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last He will take His stand on the earth.(nas) Job 19:25 οἶδα γὰρ ὅτι ἀέναός ἐστιν ὁ ἐκλύειν με μέλλων ἐπὶ γῆς (lxx) Job 19:25 Scio enim quod redemptor meus vivit, et in novissimo die de terra surrecturus sum:(vulgate) 25 ׃19 וַאֲנִ֣י יָ֭דַעְתִּי גֹּ֣אֲלִי חָ֑י וְ֝אַחֲר֗וֹן עַל־עָפָ֥ר יָקֽוּם׃ Job Job 19:25 Aber ich weiß, daß mein Erlöser lebt; und als der letzte wird er über dem Staube sich erheben.(dhs) Job 19:25 For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth;(nkjv) ======= Job 19:26 ============ Job 19:26 "Even after my skin is destroyed, Yet from my flesh I shall see God;(nas) Job 19:26 ἀναστήσαι τὸ δέρμα μου τὸ ἀνατλῶν ταῦτα παρὰ γὰρ κυρίου ταῦτά μοι συνετελέσθη (lxx) Job 19:26 et rursum circumdabor pelle mea, et in carne mea videbo Deum meum:(vulgate) 26 ׃19 וְאַחַ֣ר ע֭וֹרִֽי נִקְּפוּ־זֹ֑את וּ֝מִבְּשָׂרִ֗י אֶֽחֱזֶ֥ה אֱלֽוֹהַּ׃ Job Job 19:26 Und nachdem diese meine Haut zerschlagen ist, werde ich ohne mein Fleisch Gott sehen.(dhs) Job 19:26 And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God,(nkjv) ======= Job 19:27 ============ Job 19:27 Whom I myself shall behold, And whom my eyes will see and not another. My heart faints within me!(nas) Job 19:27 ἃ ἐγὼ ἐμαυτῷ συνεπίσταμαι ἃ ὁ ὀφθαλμός μου ἑόρακεν καὶ οὐκ ἄλλος πάντα δέ μοι συντετέλεσται ἐν κόλπῳ (lxx) Job 19:27 quem visurus sum ego ipse, et oculi mei conspecturi sunt, et non alius: reposita est hæc spes mea in sinu meo.(vulgate) 27 ׃19 אֲשֶׁ֤ר אֲנִ֨י ׀ אֶֽחֱזֶה־לִּ֗י וְעֵינַ֣י רָא֣וּ וְלֹא־זָ֑ר כָּל֖וּ כִלְיֹתַ֣י בְּחֵקִֽי׃ Job Job 19:27 Denselben werde ich mir sehen, und meine Augen werden ihn schauen, und kein Fremder. Darnach sehnen sich meine Nieren in meinem Schoß.(dhs) Job 19:27 Whom I shall see for myself, And my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!(nkjv) ======= Job 19:28 ============ Job 19:28 "If you say, 'How shall we persecute him?'
