Hear this, all peoples; Give ear, all inhabitants of the world,(nkjv) ======= Psalm 49:2 ============ Psa 49:2 Both low and high, Rich and poor together.(nas) Psa 49:2 ἀκούσατε ταῦτα πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ἐνωτίσασθε πάντες οἱ κατοικοῦντες τὴν οἰκουμένην (lxx) Psa 49:2 [Vulgate 48:3] tam filii Adam quam filii singulorum simul dives et pauper(vulgate) 3 ׃49 גַּם־בְּנֵ֣י אָ֭דָם גַּם־בְּנֵי־אִ֑ישׁ יַ֝֗חַד עָשִׁ֥יר וְאֶבְיֽוֹן׃ Psalms Psa 49:2 beide, gemeiner Mann und Herren, beide, reich und arm, miteinander!(dhs) Psa 49:2 Both low and high, Rich and poor together.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 49:3 ============ Psa 49:3 My mouth will speak wisdom, And the meditation of my heart will be understanding.(nas) Psa 49:3 οἵ τε γηγενεῖς καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ τῶν ἀνθρώπων ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ πλούσιος καὶ πένης (lxx) Psa 49:3 [Vulgate 48:4] os meum loquitur sapientias et meditatio cordis mei prudentias(vulgate) 4 ׃49 פִּ֭י יְדַבֵּ֣ר חָכְמ֑וֹת וְהָג֖וּת לִבִּ֣י תְבוּנֽוֹת׃ Psalms Psa 49:3 Mein Mund soll von Weisheit reden und mein Herz von Verstand sagen.(dhs) Psa 49:3 My mouth shall speak wisdom, And the meditation of my heart shall give understanding.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 49:4 ============ Psa 49:4 I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will express my riddle on the harp.(nas) Psa 49:4 τὸ στόμα μου λαλήσει σοφίαν καὶ ἡ μελέτη τῆς καρδίας μου σύνεσιν (lxx) Psa 49:4 [Vulgate 48:5] inclino ad parabulam aurem meam aperiam in cithara enigma meum(vulgate) 5 ׃49 אַטֶּ֣ה לְמָשָׁ֣ל אָזְנִ֑י אֶפְתַּ֥ח בְּ֝כִנּ֗וֹר חִידָתֽ͏ִי׃ Psalms Psa 49:4 Ich will einem Spruch mein Ohr neigen und kundtun mein Rätsel beim Klange der Harfe.(dhs) Psa 49:4 I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will disclose my dark saying on the harp.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 49:5 ============ Psa 49:5 Why should I fear in days of adversity, When the iniquity of my foes surrounds me,(nas) Psa 49:5 κλινῶ εἰς παραβολὴν τὸ οὖς μου ἀνοίξω ἐν ψαλτηρίῳ τὸ πρόβλημά μου (lxx) Psa 49:5 [Vulgate 48:6] quare timebo in diebus mali iniquitas calcanei mei circumdabit me(vulgate) 6 ׃49 לָ֣מָּה אִ֭ירָא בִּ֣ימֵי רָ֑ע עֲוֺ֖ן עֲקֵבַ֣י יְסוּבֵּֽנִי׃ Psalms Psa 49:5 Warum sollte ich mich fürchten in bösen Tagen, wenn mich die Missetat meiner Untertreter umgibt,(dhs) Psa 49:5 Why should I fear in the days of evil, When the iniquity at my heels surrounds me?(nkjv) ======= Psalm 49:6 ============ Psa 49:6 Even those who trust in their wealth And boast in the abundance of their riches?(nas) Psa 49:6 ἵνα τί φοβοῦμαι ἐν ἡμέρᾳ πονηρᾷ ἡ ἀνομία τῆς πτέρνης μου κυκλώσει με (lxx) Psa 49:6 [Vulgate 48:7] qui fiduciam habent in fortitudine sua et in multitudine divitiarum suarum superbiunt(vulgate) 7 ׃49 הַבֹּטְחִ֥ים עַל־חֵילָ֑ם וּבְרֹ֥ב עָ֝שְׁרָ֗ם יִתְהַלָּֽלוּ׃ Psalms Psa 49:6 die sich verlassen auf ihr Gut und trotzen auf ihren großen Reichtum?(dhs) Psa 49:6 Those who trust in their wealth And boast in the multitude of their riches,(nkjv) ======= Psalm 49:7 ============ Psa 49:7 No man can by any means redeem his brother Or give to God a ransom for him--(nas) Psa 49:7 οἱ πεποιθότες ἐπὶ τῇ δυνάμει αὐτῶν καὶ ἐπὶ τῷ πλήθει τοῦ πλούτου αὐτῶν καυχώμενοι (lxx) Psa 49:7 [Vulgate 48:8] fratrem redimens non redimet vir nec dabit Deo propitiationem pro eo(vulgate) 8 ׃49 אָ֗ח לֹא־פָדֹ֣ה יִפְדֶּ֣ה אִ֑ישׁ לֹא־יִתֵּ֖ן לֵאלֹהִ֣ים כָּפְרֽוֹ׃ Psalms Psa 49:7 Kann doch einen Bruder niemand erlösen noch ihn Gott versöhnen(dhs) Psa 49:7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, Nor give to God a ransom for him--(nkjv) ======= Psalm 49:8 ============ Psa 49:8 For the redemption of his soul is costly, And he should cease trying forever--(nas) Psa 49:8 ἀδελφὸς οὐ λυτροῦται λυτρώσεται ἄνθρωπος οὐ δώσει τῷ θεῷ ἐξίλασμα αὐτοῦ (lxx) Psa 49:8 [Vulgate 48:9] neque pretium redemptionis animae eorum sed quiescet in saeculo(vulgate) 9 ׃49 וְ֭יֵקַר פִּדְי֥וֹן נַפְשָׁ֗ם וְחָדַ֥ל לְעוֹלָֽם׃ Psalms Psa 49:8 (denn es kostet zuviel, eine Seele zu erlösen; man muß es anstehen lassen ewiglich),(dhs) Psa 49:8 For the redemption of their souls is costly, And it shall cease forever--(nkjv) ======= Psalm 49:9 ============ Psa 49:9 That he should live on eternally, That he should not undergo decay.(nas) Psa 49:9 καὶ τὴν τιμὴν τῆς λυτρώσεως τῆς ψυχῆς αὐτοῦ (lxx) Psa 49:9 [Vulgate 48:10] et vivet ultra in sempiternum(vulgate) 10 ׃49 וִֽיחִי־ע֥וֹד לָנֶ֑צַח לֹ֖א יִרְאֶ֣ה הַשָּֽׁחַת׃ Psalms Psa 49:9 daß er fortlebe immerdar und die Grube nicht sehe.(dhs) Psa 49:9 That he should continue to live eternally, And not see the Pit.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 49:10 ============ Psa 49:10 For he sees that even wise men die; The stupid and the senseless alike perish And leave their wealth to others.(nas) Psa 49:10 καὶ ἐκόπασεν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα καὶ ζήσεται εἰς τέλος ὅτι οὐκ ὄψεται καταφθοράν ὅταν ἴδῃ σοφοὺς ἀποθνῄσκοντας (lxx) Psa 49:10 [Vulgate 48:11] et non videbit interitum cum viderit sapientes morientes simul insipiens et indoctus peribunt et derelinquent alienis divitias suas(vulgate) 11 ׃49 כִּ֤י יִרְאֶ֨ה ׀ חֲכָ֘מִ֤ים יָמ֗וּתוּ יַ֤חַד כְּסִ֣יל וָבַ֣עַר יֹאבֵ֑דוּ וְעָזְב֖וּ לַאֲחֵרִ֣ים חֵילָֽם׃ Psalms Psa 49:10 Denn man wird sehen, daß die Weisen sterben sowohl als die Toren und Narren umkommen und müssen ihr Gut andern lassen.(dhs) Psa 49:10 For he sees wise men die; Likewise the fool and the senseless person perish, And leave their wealth to others.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 49:11 ============ Psa 49:11 Their inner thought is that their houses are forever And their dwelling places to all generations; They have called their lands after their own names.(nas) Psa 49:11 ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ ἄφρων καὶ ἄνους ἀπολοῦνται καὶ καταλείψουσιν ἀλλοτρίοις τὸν πλοῦτον αὐτῶν (lxx) Psa 49:11 [Vulgate 48:12] interiora sua domus suas in saeculo tabernacula sua in generatione et generatione vocaverunt nominibus suis terras suas(vulgate) 12 ׃49 קִרְבָּ֤ם בָּתֵּ֨ימוֹ ׀ לְֽעוֹלָ֗ם מִ֭שְׁכְּנֹתָם לְדֹ֣ר וָדֹ֑ר קָֽרְא֥וּ בִ֝שְׁמוֹתָ֗ם עֲלֵ֣י אֲדָמֽוֹת׃ Psalms Psa 49:11 Das ist ihr Herz, daß ihre Häuser währen immerdar, ihre Wohnungen bleiben für und für; und haben große Ehre auf Erden.(dhs) Psa 49:11 Their inner thought is that their houses will last forever, Their dwelling places to all generations; They call their lands after their own names.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 49:12 ============ Psa 49:12 But man in his pomp will not endure; He is like the beasts that perish.(nas) Psa 49:12 καὶ οἱ τάφοι αὐτῶν οἰκίαι αὐτῶν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα σκηνώματα αὐτῶν εἰς γενεὰν καὶ γενεάν ἐπεκαλέσαντο τὰ ὀνόματα αὐτῶν ἐπὶ τῶν γαιῶν αὐτῶν (lxx) Psa 49:12 [Vulgate 48:13] et homo in honore non commorabitur adsimilatus est iumentis et exaequatus est(vulgate) 13 ׃49 וְאָדָ֣ם בִּ֭יקָר בַּל־יָלִ֑ין נִמְשַׁ֖ל כַּבְּהֵמ֣וֹת נִדְמֽוּ׃ Psalms Psa 49:12 Dennoch kann ein Mensch nicht bleiben in solchem Ansehen, sondern muß davon wie ein Vieh.(dhs) Psa 49:12 Nevertheless man, though in honor, does not remain; He is like the beasts that perish.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 49:13 ============ Psa 49:13 This is the way of those who are foolish, And of those after them who approve their words. Selah.(nas) Psa 49:13 καὶ ἄνθρωπος ἐν τιμῇ ὢν οὐ συνῆκεν παρασυνεβλήθη τοῖς κτήνεσιν τοῖς ἀνοήτοις καὶ ὡμοιώθη αὐτοῖς (lxx) Psa 49:13 [Vulgate 48:14] haec est via insipientiae eorum et post eos iuxta os eorum current semper(vulgate) 14 ׃49 זֶ֣ה דַ֭רְכָּם כֵּ֣סֶל לָ֑מוֹ וְאַחֲרֵיהֶ֓ם ׀ בְּפִיהֶ֖ם יִרְצ֣וּ סֶֽלָה׃ Psalms Psa 49:13 Dies ihr Tun ist eitel Torheit; doch loben's ihre Nachkommen mit ihrem Munde. (Sela.)(dhs) Psa 49:13 This is the way of those who are foolish, And of their posterity who approve their sayings. Selah(nkjv) ======= Psalm 49:14 ============ Psa 49:14 As sheep they are appointed for Sheol; Death shall be their shepherd; And the upright shall rule over them in the morning, And their form shall be for Sheol to consume So that they have no habitation.(nas) Psa 49:14 αὕτη ἡ ὁδὸς αὐτῶν σκάνδαλον αὐτοῖς καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἐν τῷ στόματι αὐτῶν εὐδοκήσουσιν διάψαλμα (lxx) Psa 49:14 [Vulgate 48:15] quasi grex in inferno positi sunt mors pascet eos et subicient eos recti in matutino et figura eorum conteretur in inferno post habitaculum suum(vulgate) 15 ׃49 כַּצֹּ֤אן ׀ לִֽשְׁא֣וֹל שַׁתּוּ֮ מָ֤וֶת יִ֫רְעֵ֥ם וַיִּרְדּ֘וּ בָ֤ם יְשָׁרִ֨ים ׀ לַבֹּ֗קֶר *וצירם **וְ֭צוּרָם לְבַלּ֥וֹת שְׁא֗וֹל מִזְּבֻ֥ל לֽוֹ׃ Psalms Psa 49:14 Sie liegen in der Hölle wie Schafe, der Tod weidet sie; aber die Frommen werden gar bald über sie herrschen, und ihr Trotz muß vergehen; in der Hölle müssen sie bleiben.(dhs) Psa 49:14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; Death shall feed on them; The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; And their beauty shall be consumed in the grave, far from their dwelling.(nkjv) ======= Psalm 49:15 ============ Psa 49:15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol, For He will receive me. Selah.(nas) Psa 49:15 ὡς πρόβατα ἐν ᾅδῃ ἔθεντο θάνατος ποιμαίνει αὐτούς καὶ κατακυριεύσουσιν αὐτῶν οἱ εὐθεῖς τὸ πρωί καὶ ἡ βοήθεια αὐτῶν παλαιωθήσεται ἐν τῷ ᾅδῃ ἐκ τῆς δόξης αὐτῶν (lxx) Psa 49:15 [Vulgate 48:16] verumtamen Deus redimet animam meam de manu inferi cum adsumpserit me semper(vulgate) 16 ׃49 אַךְ־אֱלֹהִ֗ים יִפְדֶּ֣ה נַ֭פְשִׁי מִֽיַּד־שְׁא֑וֹל כִּ֖י יִקָּחֵ֣נִי סֶֽלָה׃ Psalms Psa 49:15 Aber Gott wird meine Seele erlösen aus der Hölle Gewalt; denn er hat mich angenommen.
