Today's Date: 4/3/2025 ======= Proverbs 9:1 ============ Pro 9:1 Wisdom has built her house, She has hewn out her seven pillars;(nas) Pro 9:1 ἡ σοφία ᾠκοδόμησεν ἑαυτῇ οἶκον καὶ ὑπήρεισεν στύλους ἑπτά (lxx) Pro 9:1 [Sapientia ædificavit sibi domum: excidit columnas septem.(vulgate) 1 ׃9 חָ֭כְמוֹת בָּנְתָ֣ה בֵיתָ֑הּ חָצְבָ֖ה עַמּוּדֶ֣יהָ שִׁבְעָֽה׃ Proverbs Pro 9:1 Die Weisheit baute ihr Haus und hieb sieben Säulen,(dhs) Pro 9:1 Wisdom has built her house, She has hewn out her seven pillars;(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 9:2 ============ Pro 9:2 She has prepared her food, she has mixed her wine; She has also set her table;(nas) Pro 9:2 ἔσφαξεν τὰ ἑαυτῆς θύματα ἐκέρασεν εἰς κρατῆρα τὸν ἑαυτῆς οἶνον καὶ ἡτοιμάσατο τὴν ἑαυτῆς τράπεζαν (lxx) Pro 9:2 Immolavit victimas suas, miscuit vinum, et proposuit mensam suam.(vulgate) 2 ׃9 טָבְחָ֣ה טִ֭בְחָהּ מָסְכָ֣ה יֵינָ֑הּ אַ֝֗ף עָֽרְכָ֥ה שֻׁלְחָנָֽהּ׃ Proverbs Pro 9:2 schlachtete ihr Vieh und trug ihren Wein auf und bereitete ihren Tisch(dhs) Pro 9:2 She has slaughtered her meat, She has mixed her wine, She has also furnished her table.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 9:3 ============ Pro 9:3 She has sent out her maidens, she calls From the tops of the heights of the city:(nas) Pro 9:3 ἀπέστειλεν τοὺς ἑαυτῆς δούλους συγκαλούσα μετὰ ὑψηλοῦ κηρύγματος ἐπὶ κρατῆρα λέγουσα (lxx) Pro 9:3 Misit ancillas suas ut vocarent ad arcem et ad mœnia civitatis.(vulgate) 3 ׃9 שָֽׁלְחָ֣ה נַעֲרֹתֶ֣יהָ תִקְרָ֑א עַל־גַּ֝פֵּ֗י מְרֹ֣מֵי קָֽרֶת׃ Proverbs Pro 9:3 und sandte ihre Dirnen aus, zu rufen oben auf den Höhen der Stadt:(dhs) Pro 9:3 She has sent out her maidens, She cries out from the highest places of the city,(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 9:4 ============ Pro 9:4 "Whoever is naive, let him turn in here!" To him who lacks understanding she says,(nas) Pro 9:4 ὅς ἐστιν ἄφρων ἐκκλινάτω πρός με καὶ τοῖς ἐνδεέσι φρενῶν εἶπεν (lxx) Pro 9:4 Si quis est parvulus, veniat ad me. Et insipientibus locuta est:(vulgate) 4 ׃9 מִי־פֶ֭תִי יָסֻ֣ר הֵ֑נָּה חֲסַר־לֵ֝֗ב אָ֣מְרָה לּֽוֹ׃ Proverbs Pro 9:4 "Wer verständig ist, der mache sich hierher!", und zum Narren sprach sie:(dhs) Pro 9:4 "Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!" As for him who lacks understanding, she says to him,(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 9:5 ============ Pro 9:5 "Come, eat of my food And drink of the wine I have mixed.(nas) Pro 9:5 ἔλθατε φάγετε τῶν ἐμῶν ἄρτων καὶ πίετε οἶνον ὃν ἐκέρασα ὑμῖν (lxx) Pro 9:5 Venite, comedite panem meum, et bibite vinum quod miscui vobis.(vulgate) 5 ׃9 לְ֭כוּ לַחֲמ֣וּ בְֽלַחֲמִ֑י וּ֝שְׁת֗וּ בְּיַ֣יִן מָסָֽכְתִּי׃ Proverbs Pro 9:5 "Kommet, zehret von meinem Brot und trinket den Wein, den ich schenke;(dhs) Pro 9:5 "Come, eat of my bread And drink of the wine I have mixed.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 9:6 ============ Pro 9:6 "Forsake your folly and live, And proceed in the way of understanding."(nas) Pro 9:6 ἀπολείπετε ἀφροσύνην καὶ ζήσεσθε καὶ ζητήσατε φρόνησιν ἵνα βιώσητε καὶ κατορθώσατε ἐν γνώσει σύνεσιν (lxx) Pro 9:6 Relinquite infantiam, et vivite, et ambulate per vias prudentiæ.]~(vulgate) 6 ׃9 עִזְב֣וּ פְתָאיִ֣ם וִֽחְי֑וּ וְ֝אִשְׁר֗וּ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ בִּינָֽה׃ Proverbs Pro 9:6 verlaßt das unverständige Wesen, so werdet ihr leben, und gehet auf dem Wege der Klugheit."(dhs) Pro 9:6 Forsake foolishness and live, And go in the way of understanding.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 9:7 ============ Pro 9:7 He who corrects a scoffer gets dishonor for himself, And he who reproves a wicked man gets insults for himself.(nas) Pro 9:7 ὁ παιδεύων κακοὺς λήμψεται ἑαυτῷ ἀτιμίαν ἐλέγχων δὲ τὸν ἀσεβῆ μωμήσεται ἑαυτόν (lxx) Pro 9:7 [Qui erudit derisorem, ipse injuriam sibi facit, et qui arguit impium, sibi maculam generat.(vulgate) 7 ׃9 יֹ֤סֵ֨ר ׀ לֵ֗ץ לֹקֵ֣חַֽ ל֣וֹ קָל֑וֹן וּמוֹכִ֖יחַ לְרָשָׁ֣ע מוּמֽוֹ׃ Proverbs Pro 9:7 Wer den Spötter züchtigt, der muß Schande auf sich nehmen; und wer den Gottlosen straft, der muß gehöhnt werden.(dhs) Pro 9:7 "He who corrects a scoffer gets shame for himself, And he who rebukes a wicked man only harms himself.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 9:8 ============ Pro 9:8 Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you, Reprove a wise man and he will love you.(nas) Pro 9:8 μὴ ἔλεγχε κακούς ἵνα μὴ μισῶσίν σε ἔλεγχε σοφόν καὶ ἀγαπήσει σε (lxx) Pro 9:8 Noli arguere derisorem, ne oderit te: argue sapientem, et diliget te.(vulgate) 8 ׃9 אַל־תּ֣וֹכַח לֵ֭ץ פֶּן־יִשְׂנָאֶ֑ךָּ הוֹכַ֥ח לְ֝חָכָ֗ם וְיֶאֱהָבֶֽךָּ׃ Proverbs Pro 9:8 Strafe den Spötter nicht, er haßt dich; strafe den Weisen, der wird dich lieben.(dhs) Pro 9:8 Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 9:9 ============ Pro 9:9 Give instruction to a wise man and he will be still wiser, Teach a righteous man and he will increase his learning.(nas) Pro 9:9 δίδου σοφῷ ἀφορμήν καὶ σοφώτερος ἔσται γνώριζε δικαίῳ καὶ προσθήσει τοῦ δέχεσθαι (lxx) Pro 9:9 Da sapienti occasionem, et addetur ei sapientia; doce justum, et festinabit accipere.(vulgate) 9 ׃9 תֵּ֣ן לְ֭חָכָם וְיֶחְכַּם־ע֑וֹד הוֹדַ֥ע לְ֝צַדִּ֗יק וְי֣וֹסֶף לֶֽקַח׃ פ Proverbs Pro 9:9 Gib dem Weisen, so wird er noch weiser werden; lehre den Gerechten, so wird er in der Lehre zunehmen.(dhs) Pro 9:9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; Teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 9:10 ============ Pro 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.(nas) Pro 9:10 ἀρχὴ σοφίας φόβος κυρίου καὶ βουλὴ ἁγίων σύνεσις Pro 9:10 Principium sapientiæ timor Domini, et scientia sanctorum prudentia.(vulgate) 10 ׃9 תְּחִלַּ֣ת חָ֭כְמָה יִרְאַ֣ת יְהוָ֑ה וְדַ֖עַת קְדֹשִׁ֣ים בִּינָֽה׃ Proverbs Pro 9:10 Der Weisheit Anfang ist des HERRN Furcht, und den Heiligen erkennen ist Verstand.(dhs) Pro 9:10 "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 9:11 ============ Pro 9:11 For by me your days will be multiplied, And years of life will be added to you.(nas) Pro 9:11 τούτῳ γὰρ τῷ τρόπῳ πολὺν ζήσεις χρόνον καὶ προστεθήσεταί σοι ἔτη ζωῆς σου (lxx) Pro 9:11 Per me enim multiplicabuntur dies tui, et addentur tibi anni vitæ.(vulgate) 11 ׃9 כִּי־בִ֭י יִרְבּ֣וּ יָמֶ֑יךָ וְיוֹסִ֥יפוּ לְּ֝ךָ֗ שְׁנ֣וֹת חַיִּֽים׃ Proverbs Pro 9:11 Denn durch mich werden deiner Tage viel werden und werden dir der Jahre des Lebens mehr werden.(dhs) Pro 9:11 For by me your days will be multiplied, And years of life will be added to you.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 9:12 ============ Pro 9:12 If you are wise, you are wise for yourself, And if you scoff, you alone will bear it.(nas) Pro 9:12 υἱέ ἐὰν σοφὸς γένῃ σεαυτῷ σοφὸς ἔσῃ καὶ τοῖς πλησίον ἐὰν δὲ κακὸς ἀποβῇς μόνος ἀναντλήσεις κακά Pro 9:12 Si sapiens fueris, tibimetipsi eris; si autem illusor, solus portabis malum.]~(vulgate) 12 ׃9 אִם־חָ֭כַמְתָּ חָכַ֣מְתָּ לָּ֑ךְ וְ֝לַ֗צְתָּ לְֽבַדְּךָ֥ תִשָּֽׂא׃ Proverbs Pro 9:12 Bist du weise, so bist du dir weise; bist du ein Spötter, so wirst du es allein tragen.(dhs) Pro 9:12 If you are wise, you are wise for yourself, And if you scoff, you will bear it alone."(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 9:13 ============ Pro 9:13 The woman of folly is boisterous, She is naive and knows nothing.(nas) Pro 9:13 γυνὴ ἄφρων καὶ θρασεῖα ἐνδεὴς ψωμοῦ γίνεται ἣ οὐκ ἐπίσταται αἰσχύνην (lxx) Pro 9:13 [Mulier stulta et clamosa, plenaque illecebris, et nihil omnino sciens,(vulgate) 13 ׃9 אֵ֣שֶׁת כְּ֭סִילוּת הֹֽמִיָּ֑ה פְּ֝תַיּ֗וּת וּבַל־יָ֥דְעָה מָּֽה׃ Proverbs Pro 9:13 Es ist aber ein törichtes, wildes Weib, voll Schwätzens, und weiß nichts;(dhs) Pro 9:13 A foolish woman is clamorous; She is simple, and knows nothing.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 9:14 ============ Pro 9:14 She sits at the doorway of her house, On a seat by the high places of the city,(nas) Pro 9:14 ἐκάθισεν ἐπὶ θύραις τοῦ ἑαυτῆς οἴκου ἐπὶ δίφρου ἐμφανῶς ἐν πλατείαις (lxx) Pro 9:14 sedit in foribus domus suæ, super sellam in excelso urbis loco,(vulgate) 14 ׃9 וְֽ֭יָשְׁבָה לְפֶ֣תַח בֵּיתָ֑הּ עַל־כִּ֝סֵּ֗א מְרֹ֣מֵי קָֽרֶת׃ Proverbs Pro 9:14 die sitzt in der Tür ihres Hauses auf dem Stuhl, oben in der Stadt,(dhs) Pro 9:14 For she sits at the door of her house, On a seat by the highest places of the city,(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 9:15 ============ Pro 9:15 Calling to those who pass by, Who are making their paths straight:(nas) Pro 9:15 προσκαλουμένη τοὺς παριόντας καὶ κατευθύνοντας ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτῶν (lxx) Pro 9:15 ut vocaret transeuntes per viam, et pergentes itinere suo:(vulgate) 15 ׃9 לִקְרֹ֥א לְעֹֽבְרֵי־דָ֑רֶךְ הַֽ֝מְיַשְּׁרִ֗ים אֹֽרְחוֹתָֽם׃ Proverbs Pro 9:15 zu laden alle, die vorübergehen und richtig auf ihrem Wege wandeln:(dhs) Pro 9:15 To call to those who pass by, Who go straight on their way:(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 9:16 ============ Pro 9:16 "Whoever is naive, let him turn in here," And to him who lacks understanding she says,(nas) Pro 9:16 ὅς ἐστιν ὑμῶν ἀφρονέστατος ἐκκλινάτω πρός με ἐνδεέσι δὲ φρονήσεως παρακελεύομαι λέγουσα (lxx) Pro 9:16 Qui est parvulus declinet ad me. Et vecordi locuta est:(vulgate) 16 ׃9 מִי־פֶ֭תִי יָסֻ֣ר הֵ֑נָּה וַחֲסַר־לֵ֝֗ב וְאָ֣מְרָה לּֽוֹ׃ Proverbs Pro 9:16 "Wer unverständig ist, der mache sich hierher!", und zum Narren spricht sie:(dhs) Pro 9:16 "Whoever is simple, let him turn in here"; And as for him who lacks understanding, she says to him,(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 9:17 ============ Pro 9:17 "Stolen water is sweet; And bread eaten in secret is pleasant."(nas) Pro 9:17 ἄρτων κρυφίων ἡδέως ἅψασθε καὶ ὕδατος κλοπῆς γλυκεροῦ (lxx) Pro 9:17 Aquæ furtivæ dulciores sunt, et panis absconditus suavior.(vulgate) 17 ׃9 מַֽיִם־גְּנוּבִ֥ים יִמְתָּ֑קוּ וְלֶ֖חֶם סְתָרִ֣ים יִנְעָֽם׃ Proverbs Pro 9:17 "Die gestohlenen Wasser sind süß, und das verborgene Brot schmeckt wohl."(dhs) Pro 9:17 "Stolen water is sweet, And bread eaten in secret is pleasant."(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 9:18 ============ Pro 9:18 But he does not know that the dead are there, That her guests are in the depths of Sheol.(nas) Pro 9:18 ὁ δὲ οὐκ οἶδεν ὅτι γηγενεῖς παρ᾽ αὐτῇ ὄλλυνται καὶ ἐπὶ πέτευρον ᾅδου συναντᾷ Pro 9:18 Et ignoravit quod ibi sint gigantes, et in profundis inferni convivæ ejus.](vulgate) 18 ׃9 וְֽלֹא־יָ֭דַע כִּֽי־רְפָאִ֣ים שָׁ֑ם בְּעִמְקֵ֖י שְׁא֣וֹל קְרֻאֶֽיהָ׃ פ Proverbs Pro 9:18 Er weiß aber nicht, daß daselbst Tote sind und ihre Gäste in der tiefen Grube.(dhs) Pro 9:18 But he does not know that the dead are there, That her guests are in the depths of hell.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 10:1 ============ top of the page
