labia autem sapientium custodiunt eos.(vulgate) 3 ׃14 בְּֽפִי־אֱ֭וִיל חֹ֣טֶר גַּאֲוָ֑ה וְשִׂפְתֵ֥י חֲ֝כָמִ֗ים תִּשְׁמוּרֵֽם׃ Proverbs Pro 14:3 Narren reden tyrannisch; aber die Weisen bewahren ihren Mund.(dhs) Pro 14:3 In the mouth of a fool is a rod of pride, But the lips of the wise will preserve them.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 14:4 ============ Pro 14:4 Where no oxen are, the manger is clean, But much revenue comes by the strength of the ox.(nas) Pro 14:4 οὗ μή εἰσιν βόες φάτναι καθαραί οὗ δὲ πολλὰ γενήματα φανερὰ βοὸς ἰσχύς (lxx) Pro 14:4 Ubi non sunt boves, præsepe vacuum est; ubi autem plurimæ segetes, ibi manifesta est fortitudo bovis.(vulgate) 4 ׃14 בְּאֵ֣ין אֲ֭לָפִים אֵב֣וּס בָּ֑ר וְרָב־תְּ֝בוּא֗וֹת בְּכֹ֣חַ שֽׁוֹר׃ Proverbs Pro 14:4 Wo nicht Ochsen sind, da ist die Krippe rein; doctrina prudentium facilis.(vulgate) 6 ׃14 בִּקֶּשׁ־לֵ֣ץ חָכְמָ֣ה וָאָ֑יִן וְדַ֖עַת לְנָב֣וֹן נָקָֽל׃ Proverbs Pro 14:6 Der Spötter sucht Weisheit, und findet sie nicht; aber dem Verständigen ist die Erkenntnis leicht.(dhs) Pro 14:6 A scoffer seeks wisdom and does not find it, But knowledge is easy to him who understands.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 14:7 ============ Pro 14:7 Leave the presence of a fool, Or you will not discern words of knowledge.(nas) Pro 14:7 πάντα ἐναντία ἀνδρὶ ἄφρονι ὅπλα δὲ αἰσθήσεως χείλη σοφά (lxx) Pro 14:7 Vade contra virum stultum, et nescit labia prudentiæ.(vulgate) 7 ׃14 לֵ֣ךְ מִ֭נֶּגֶד לְאִ֣ישׁ כְּסִ֑יל וּבַל־יָ֝דַ֗עְתָּ שִׂפְתֵי־דָֽעַת׃ Proverbs Pro 14:7 Gehe von dem Narren; astutus considerat gressus suos. Qui credit in Domino misericordiam diligit.(vulgate) 21 ׃14 בָּז־לְרֵעֵ֥הוּ חוֹטֵ֑א וּמְחוֹנֵ֖ן *עניים **עֲנָוִ֣ים אַשְׁרָֽיו׃ Proverbs Pro 14:21 Der Sünder verachtet seinen Nächsten; aber wohl dem, der sich der Elenden erbarmt!(dhs) Pro 14:21 He who despises his neighbor sins; But he who has mercy on the poor, happy is he.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 14:22 ============ Pro 14:22 Will they not go astray who devise evil? But kindness and truth will be to those who devise good.(nas) Pro 14:22 πλανώμενοι τεκταίνουσι κακά ἔλεον δὲ καὶ ἀλήθειαν τεκταίνουσιν ἀγαθοί οὐκ ἐπίστανται ἔλεον καὶ πίστιν τέκτονες κακῶν ἐλεημοσύναι δὲ καὶ πίστεις παρὰ τέκτοσιν ἀγαθοῖς (lxx) Pro 14:22 Errant qui operantur malum; misericordia et veritas præparant bona.(vulgate) 22 ׃14 הֲֽלוֹא־יִ֭תְעוּ חֹ֣רְשֵׁי רָ֑ע וְחֶ֥סֶד וֶ֝אֱמֶ֗ת חֹ֣רְשֵׁי טֽוֹב׃ Proverbs Pro 14:22 Die mit bösen Ränken umgehen, werden fehlgehen; die aber Gutes denken, denen wird Treue und Güte widerfahren.(dhs) Pro 14:22 Do they not go astray who devise evil? But mercy and truth belong to those who devise good.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 14:23 ============ Pro 14:23 In all labor there is profit, But mere talk leads only to poverty.(nas) Pro 14:23 ἐν παντὶ μεριμνῶντι ἔνεστιν περισσόν ὁ δὲ ἡδὺς καὶ ἀνάλγητος ἐν ἐνδείᾳ ἔσται (lxx) Pro 14:23 In omni opere erit abundantia;
