Psalm - 74


Psalm 74:1 O God, why have You rejected us forever? Why does Your anger smoke against the sheep of Your pasture?
Psalm 74:2 Remember Your congregation, which You have purchased of old, Which You have redeemed to be the tribe of Your inheritance; And this Mount Zion, where You have dwelt.
Psalm 74:3 Turn Your footsteps toward the perpetual ruins; The enemy has damaged everything within the sanctuary.
Psalm 74:4 Your adversaries have roared in the midst of Your meeting place; They have set up their own standards for signs.
Psalm 74:5 It seems as if one had lifted up His axe in a forest of trees.
Psalm 74:6 And now all its carved work They smash with hatchet and hammers.
Psalm 74:7 They have burned Your sanctuary to the ground; They have defiled the dwelling place of Your name.
Psalm 74:8 They said in their heart, "Let us completely subdue them. "They have burned all the meeting places of God in the land.
Psalm 74:9 We do not see our signs; There is no longer any prophet, Nor is there any among us who knows how long.
Psalm 74:10 How long, O God, will the adversary revile, And the enemy spurn Your name forever?
Psalm 74:11 Why do You withdraw Your hand, even Your right hand? From within Your bosom, destroy them!
Psalm 74:12 Yet God is my king from of old, Who works deeds of deliverance in the midst of the earth.
Psalm 74:13 You divided the sea by Your strength; You broke the heads of the sea monsters in the waters.
Psalm 74:14 You crushed the heads of Leviathan; You gave him as food for the creatures of the wilderness.
Psalm 74:15 You broke open springs and torrents; You dried up ever-flowing streams.
Psalm 74:16 Yours is the day, Yours also is the night; You have prepared the light and the sun.
Psalm 74:17 You have established all the boundaries of the earth; You have made summer and winter.
Psalm 74:18 Remember this, O Lord, that the enemy has reviled, And a foolish people has spurned Your name.
Psalm 74:19 Do not deliver the soul of Your turtledove to the wild beast; Do not forget the life of Your afflicted forever.
Psalm 74:20 Consider the covenant; For the dark places of the land are full of the habitations of violence.
Psalm 74:21 Let not the oppressed return dishonored; Let the afflicted and needy praise Your name.
Psalm 74:22 Arise, O God, and plead Your own cause; Remember how the foolish man reproaches You all day long.
Psalm 74:23 Do not forget the voice of Your adversaries, The uproar of those who rise against You which ascends continually.

Psalm 74:1 O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture? Psalm 74:1 O God, why have You rejected us forever? Why does Your anger smoke against the sheep of Your pasture? Psalm 74:1 συνέσεως τῷ Ασαφ ἵνα τί ἀπώσω ὁ θεός εἰς τέλος ὠργίσθη ὁ θυμός σου ἐπὶ πρόβατα νομῆς σου
Psalm 74:2 Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt. Psalm 74:2 Remember Your congregation, which You have purchased of old, Which You have redeemed to be the tribe of Your inheritance; And this Mount Zion, where You have dwelt. Psalm 74:2 μνήσθητι τῆς συναγωγῆς σου ἧς ἐκτήσω ἀπ᾽ ἀρχῆς ἐλυτρώσω ῥάβδον κληρονομίας σου ὄρος Σιων τοῦτο ὃ κατεσκήνωσας ἐν αὐτῷ
Psalm 74:3 Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary. Psalm 74:4 Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs. Psalm 74:4 Your adversaries have roared in the midst of Your meeting place; They have set up their own standards for signs. Psalm 74:4 καὶ ἐνεκαυχήσαντο οἱ μισοῦντές σε ἐν μέσῳ τῆς ἑορτῆς σου ἔθεντο τὰ σημεῖα αὐτῶν σημεῖα καὶ οὐκ ἔγνωσαν
Psalm 74:5 A man was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees. Psalm 74:5 It seems as if one had lifted up His axe in a forest of trees. Psalm 74:5 ὡς εἰς τὴν εἴσοδον ὑπεράνω

Psalm 74:7 They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground. Psalm 74:7 They have burned Your sanctuary to the ground; They have defiled the dwelling place of Your name. Psalm 74:7 ἐνεπύρισαν ἐν πυρὶ τὸ ἁγιαστήριόν σου εἰς τὴν γῆν ἐβεβήλωσαν τὸ σκήνωμα τοῦ ὀνόματός σου
Psalm 74:8 They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land. Psalm 74:8 They said in their heart, "Let us completely subdue them. "They have burned all the meeting places of God in the land. Psalm 74:8 εἶπαν ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτῶν ἡ συγγένεια αὐτῶν ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτό δεῦτε καὶ κατακαύσωμεν πάσας τὰς ἑορτὰς τοῦ θεοῦ ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς
Psalm 74 9 We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet neither is there among us any that knoweth how long. Psalm 74:9 We do not see our signs; There is no longer any prophet, Nor is there any among us who knows how long. Psalm 74:9 τὰ σημεῖα ἡμῶν οὐκ εἴδομεν οὐκ ἔστιν ἔτι προφήτης καὶ ἡμᾶς οὐ γνώσεται ἔτι
Psalm 74:10 O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever? Psalm 74:10 How long, O God, will the adversary revile, And the enemy spurn Your name forever? Psalm 74:10 ἕως πότε ὁ θεός ὀνειδιεῖ ὁ ἐχθρός παροξυνεῖ ὁ ὑπεναντίος τὸ ὄνομά σου εἰς τέλος
Psalm 74:11 Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand? pluck it out of thy bosom. Psalm 74:11 Why do You withdraw Your hand, even Your right hand? From within Your bosom, destroy them! Psalm 74:11 ἵνα τί ἀποστρέφεις τὴν χεῖρά σου καὶ τὴν δεξιάν σου ἐκ μέσου τοῦ κόλπου σου εἰς τέλος
Psalm 74:12 For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth. Psalm 74:12 Yet God is my king from of old, Who works deeds of deliverance in the midst of the earth. Psalm 74:12 ὁ δὲ θεὸς βασιλεὺς ἡμῶν πρὸ αἰῶνος εἰργάσατο σωτηρίαν ἐν μέσῳ τῆς γῆς
Psalm 74:13 Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters. Psalm 74:13 You divided the sea by Your strength; You broke the heads of the sea monsters in the waters. Psalm 74:13 σὺ ἐκραταίωσας ἐν τῇ δυνάμει σου τὴν θάλασσαν σὺ συνέτριψας τὰς κεφαλὰς τῶν δρακόντων ἐπὶ τοῦ ὕδατος
Psalm 74:14 Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness. Psalm 74:14 You crushed the heads of Leviathan; You gave him as food for the creatures of the wilderness. Psalm 74:14 σὺ συνέθλασας τὰς κεφαλὰς τοῦ δράκοντος ἔδωκας αὐτὸν βρῶμα λαοῖς τοῖς Αἰθίοψιν
Psalm 74:15 Thou didst cleave the fountain and the flood: thou driedst up mighty rivers. Psalm 74:15 You broke open springs and torrents; You dried up ever-flowing streams. Psalm 74:15 σὺ διέρρηξας πηγὰς καὶ χειμάρρους σὺ ἐξήρανας ποταμοὺς Ηθαμ
Psalm 74:16 The day is thine, the night also is thine: thou hast prepared the light and the sun. Psalm 74:16 Yours is the day, Yours also is the night; You have prepared the light and the sun. Psalm 74:16 σή ἐστιν ἡ ἡμέρα καὶ σή ἐστιν ἡ νύξ σὺ κατηρτίσω φαῦσιν καὶ ἥλιον
Psalm 74:17 Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter. Psalm 74:17 You have established all the boundaries of the earth; You have made summer and winter. Psalm 74:17 σὺ ἐποίησας πάντα τὰ ὅρια τῆς γῆς θέρος καὶ ἔαρ σὺ ἔπλασας αὐτά
Psalm 74:18 Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O LORD, and that the foolish people have blasphemed thy name. Psalm 74:18 Remember this, O Lord, that the enemy has reviled, And a foolish people has spurned Your name. Psalm 74:18 μνήσθητι ταύτης ἐχθρὸς ὠνείδισεν τὸν κύριον καὶ λαὸς ἄφρων παρώξυνεν τὸ ὄνομά σου
Psalm 74:19 O deliver not the soul of thy turtledove unto the multitude of the wicked: forget not the congregation of thy poor for ever. Psalm 74:19 Do not deliver the soul of Your turtledove to the wild beast; Do not forget the life of Your afflicted forever. Psalm 74:19 μὴ παραδῷς τοῖς θηρίοις ψυχὴν ἐξομολογουμένην σοι τῶν ψυχῶν τῶν πενήτων σου μὴ ἐπιλάθῃ εἰς τέλος
Psalm 74:20 Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty. Psalm 74:20 Consider the covenant; For the dark places of the land are full of the habitations of violence. Psalm 74:20 ἐπίβλεψον εἰς τὴν διαθήκην σου ὅτι ἐπληρώθησαν οἱ ἐσκοτισμένοι τῆς γῆς οἴκων ἀνομιῶν
Psalm 74:21 O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name. Psalm 74:21 Let not the oppressed return dishonored; Let the afflicted and needy praise Your name. Psalm 74:21 μὴ ἀποστραφήτω τεταπεινωμένος κατῃσχυμμένος πτωχὸς καὶ πένης αἰνέσουσιν τὸ ὄνομά σου
Psalm 74:22 Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee daily. Psalm 74:22 Arise, O God, and plead Your own cause; Remember how the foolish man reproaches You all day long. Psalm 74:22 ἀνάστα ὁ θεός δίκασον τὴν δίκην σου μνήσθητι τῶν ὀνειδισμῶν σου τῶν ὑπὸ ἄφρονος ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν
Psalm 74:23 Forget not the voice of thine enemies: the tumult of those that rise up against thee increaseth continually. Psalm 74:23 Do not forget the voice of Your adversaries, The uproar of those who rise against You which ascends continually.
