Psalm 88


Psalm 88:1 O Lord, the God of my salvation, I have cried out by day and in the night before You.
Psalm 88:2 Let my prayer come before You; Incline Your ear to my cry!
Psalm 88:3 For my soul has had enough troubles, And my life has drawn near to Sheol.
Psalm 88:4 I am reckoned among those who go down to the pit; I have become like a man without strength,
Psalm 88:5 Forsaken among the dead, Like the slain who lie in the grave, Whom You remember no more, And they are cut off from Your hand.
Psalm 88:6 You have put me in the lowest pit, In dark places, in the depths.
Psalm 88:7 Your wrath has rested upon me, And You have afflicted me with all Your waves. Selah.
Psalm 88:8 You have removed my acquaintances far from me; You have made me an object of loathing to them; I am shut up and cannot go out.
Psalm 88:9 My eye has wasted away because of affliction; I have called upon You every day, O Lord; I have spread out my hands to You.
Psalm 88:10 Will You perform wonders for the dead? Will the departed spirits rise and praise You? Selah.
Psalm 88:11 Will Your lovingkindness be declared in the grave, Your faithfulness in Abaddon?
Psalm 88:12 Will Your wonders be made known in the darkness? And Your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?
Psalm 88:13 But I, O Lord, have cried out to You for help, And in the morning my prayer comes before You.
Psalm 88:14 O Lord, why do You reject my soul? Why do You hide Your face from me?
Psalm 88:15 I was afflicted and about to die from my youth on; I suffer Your terrors; I am overcome.
Psalm 88:16 Your burning anger has passed over me; Your terrors have destroyed me.
Psalm 88:17 They have surrounded me like water all day long; They have encompassed me altogether.
Psalm 88:18 You have removed lover and friend far from me; My acquaintances are in darkness.

Psalm 88:1 O lord God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee: Psalm 88:1 O Lord, the God of my salvation, I have cried out by day and in the night before You. Psalm 88:1 ᾠδὴ ψαλμοῦ τοῖς υἱοῖς Κορε εἰς τὸ τέλος ὑπὲρ μαελεθ τοῦ ἀποκριθῆναι συνέσεως Αιμαν τῷ Ισραηλίτῃ
Psalm 88:2 Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry; Psalm 88:2 Let my prayer come before You; Incline Your ear to my cry! Psalm 88:2 κύριε ὁ θεὸς τῆς σωτηρίας μου ἡμέρας ἐκέκραξα καὶ ἐν νυκτὶ ἐναντίον σου

Psalm 88:8 Thou hast put away mine acquaintance far from me; thou hast made me an abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth. Psalm 88:8 You have removed my acquaintances far from me; You have made me an object of loathing to them; I am shut up and cannot go out. Psalm 88:9 Mine eye mourneth by reason of affliction: LORD, I have called daily upon thee, I have stretched out my hands unto thee. Psalm 88:9 My eye has wasted away because of affliction; I have called upon You every day, O Lord; I have spread out my hands to You. Psalm 88:9 ἐμάκρυνας τοὺς γνωστούς μου ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ ἔθεντό με βδέλυγμα ἑαυτοῖς παρεδόθην καὶ οὐκ ἐξεπορευόμην

Psalm 88:11 Shall thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave? or thy faithfulness in destruction? Psalm 88:11 Will Your lovingkindness be declared in the grave, Your faithfulness in Abaddon? Psalm 88:11 μὴ τοῖς νεκροῖς ποιήσεις θαυμάσια ἢ ἰατροὶ ἀναστήσουσιν καὶ ἐξομολογήσονταί σοι
Psalm 88:12 Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness? Psalm 88:12 Will Your wonders be made known in the darkness? And Your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness? Psalm 88:12 μὴ διηγήσεταί τις ἐν τάφῳ τὸ ἔλεός σου καὶ τὴν ἀλήθειάν σου ἐν τῇ ἀπωλείᾳ
Psalm 88:13 But unto thee have I cried, O LORD; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent thee. Psalm 88:13 But I, O Lord, have cried out to You for help, And in the morning my prayer comes before You. Psalm 88:13 μὴ γνωσθήσεται ἐν τῷ σκότει τὰ θαυμάσιά σου καὶ ἡ δικαιοσύνη σου ἐν γῇ ἐπιλελησμένῃ
Psalm 88:14 LORD, why castest thou off my soul? why hidest thou thy face from me? Psalm 88:14 O Lord, why do You reject my soul? Why do You hide Your face from me? Psalm 88:14 κἀγὼ πρὸς σέ κύριε ἐκέκραξα καὶ τὸ πρωὶ ἡ προσευχή μου προφθάσει σε
Psalm 88:15 I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up: while I suffer thy terrors I am distracted. Psalm 88:15 I was afflicted and about to die from my youth on; I suffer Your terrors; I am overcome. Psalm 88:15 ἵνα τί κύριε ἀπωθεῖς τὴν ψυχήν μου ἀποστρέφεις τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ
Psalm 88:16 Thy fierce wrath goeth over me; thy terrors have cut me off. Psalm 88:16 Your burning anger has passed over me; Your terrors have destroyed me. Psalm 88:16 πτωχός εἰμι ἐγὼ καὶ ἐν κόποις ἐκ νεότητός μου ὑψωθεὶς δὲ ἐταπεινώθην καὶ ἐξηπορήθην
